Former Head of State, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), has said that the endorsement of President Goodluck Jonathan by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as its sole candidate to contest the presidential seat in 2015 will not make any difference as the All Progressives Congress (APC) will win overwhelmingly. Buhari stated this on Friday, in Sokoto, the Sokoto State capital, while inaugurating projects executed by the state governor, Aliyu Wammako, according to report from Nigerian Tribune The former head of state, who was on a two-day visit to the state, said the endorsement of Jonathan would not make any difference as the PDP has failed to address problems facing the masses. He lamented the high level of insecurity and crimes in the country. “The number of military men deployed to monitor elections in Ekiti State, if deployed to the North East, will end the Boko Haram insurgency. Our Chibok girls are still in captivity,” he said. He further added that APC is a party with clear objectives. “Our aim and focus is to put a stop to corrupt practices and restore hope to Nigeria,” he said. |
The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, has said there was a need for uncommon thinking to end the power challenge battling the country. He warned that if Nigeria did not get Power right, there was no way it could achieve development in other sectors of the economy. Fashola spoke at an interactive business session with members of the Organised Private Sector at the Lekki Free Zone, according to report from The Punch “We know that if the power sector does well the state will do well and the people will benefit,” he said. He said his administration was working to achieve the commitments it made at the Ehingbeti Summit 2014 about energising the state. He said, “We spent over two hours at the Monday Executive Council meeting deliberating on Nuclear Energy for the state and how it could be deployed in use in the state. That shows you we intend to address issues of Power. We sat down with one of the foremost experts, a Nigerian, who took us through all the protocols that are needed for establishing it. “In less than three years we can establish it, especially when we need not do distribution, but places like the Lekki Free Zone can have the Nuclear Power between 15 and 24 months.” The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mrs. Olusola Oworu, said the meeting was established to articulate the problems of the private sector with a view to offering solutions to them. She said, “The meeting was held because the government is interested in knowing the problems of the private sector operators. “If we do not want to hear about where the shoe pinches and where it hurts and what we can do about it, we will not have this kind of open and expansive interaction and meeting.” Present at the occasion were the Special Adviser on Commerce and Industry, Mr. Seye Oladejo, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Wale Raji, Executive Chairman, Lagos State Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Tunde Fowler, Chairman Lekki Free Zone, Mr. Olusegun Jawando, Managing Director Lekki Free Zone, Mr. Ding Yonghua, Head of Chinese Chancery in Lagos, Mr. Liu Kan, captains of industries, stakeholders and other state government officials. |

Taraba State Governor Danbaba Suntai is back in the country after months of medical trip to the United Kingdom. He returned to Abuja on Saturday night after which he spoke to reporters at Gen. Theophilus Danjuma’ s guest house in Asokoro in the Federal Capital Territory. He said: “I just arrived in Nigeria after my treatment abroad at Whalton Hospital in London. “I thank God l’m getting better. l am happy to be back home and you all are here to receive me. Thank you all for your prayers and support.’’ Sources said acting Governor Garba Umar was prevented from seeing Suntai. Suntai was received by Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs Darius Ishaku, who hails from the state, former Governor Rev. Jolly Nyame and Senator Emmanuel Bwacha Chairman, Senate Committee on Agriculture, among others. Ishaku told reporters that the governor was in good health, adding that he could now take over the responsibility of governing the state. “Taraba State will heave a sigh of relief following the return of the governor. “I am excited; he just addressed us and expressed his joy to be back home. I will like to add that his health is a miracle,’’ Ishaku said. Nyame said Suntai’s mental alertness indicated that he was capable of taking over the affairs of the state. “It is obvious that the governor can recognise everyone here, which shows that he is mentally alert and lucid. “He just addressed the press, but the last time he didn’t, which shows that he can take over as the governor,’’ Nyame said. The plane Suntai piloted crashed on October 25, 2012 near Yola, the Adamawa State capital. He was transferred from a hospital in Yola to the National Hospital, Abuja, on October 26, 2012, and later flown to Germany and the United States for treatment. He returned to the country on August 23, 2013 after 10 months of medical treatment overseas. After some controversies on the status of his health, he was flown to London for further medical treatment. President Goodluck Jonathan visited him about one hour after the governor was admitted into the intensive care unit of the National Hospital. Jonathan had said that Suntai’s condition was stable, and urged Nigerians to pray for his speedy recovery. His return is already causing ripples in the political set-up of the state. Last week, the state executive council meeting presided over by acting Governor Garba Umar, voted to authorise the House of Assembly to raise a medical team that would include Suntai’s doctors to medically examine him and declare his true state of health. This is with a view to determining whether he is fit to return to office. While the move has been applauded by Umar’s supporters, the governor’s supporters see it as a way to get rid of him so that Umar could become the substantive governor and thereby influence the primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to his advantage. |

many things u need to consider b4 u start thinking of seeing his mama, u will actually start the relationship with ur head, clear and sure u are save, b4 u bring in ur heart into it and every other good things will start falling in naturally. seeing his mama does not guarantee anything good, for it might even sour the whole thing if u have not perfectly won ur man already, who might have to fight ur course if seeing her turn out to spell doom for u. if u are a believer pray and apply faith; for its all a black market. |
