Obasanjo telling buhari to fight corruption, the same corruption he could not fight. How can some one sitting inside the assembly of soldier ants fight it. The hands holding buhari are not only dirty but very corrupt. So i wish him the very best as he tries to fight those hands.

Jonathan will be one of greatest leaders Nigeria ever had, he gave his all for the love of this nation. Probably in the next couple of weeks we may not have the opportunity to speak freely again. I know the complain will start from the loudest shouters.

In my honest opinion, I observed the following trends with the elections that have just been concluded:

1. With the advent of the card readers, a new rigging mechanism has evolved. Physical rigging by snatching ballot boxes and hijacking ballot papers will be phased out gradually in the political scene unless GMB or any other successive government decides to stop this progress. Instead, the new rigging will entail hijacking the rational minds of the electorate. In other words, whoever wields the best propaganda machine has seized 95% of the electoral space.

2. In order for elections to be adjudged as free and fair by all political stakeholders in this country, there has to be massive upgrades and reforms in the Immigration Service. Why is this so? The figures for registered voters released in the Core North has a lot to say about how porous our borders have become. The Boko Haram Insurgency even worsened the security situation thereby leaving our borders open to immigrants from neighbouring nations such as Chad and Niger. I bet you that these illegal immigrants even got PVCs far far ahead of citizens in other regions of the nation. Now add that to accreditation via card readers and you've transformed illegal immigrants to legal entities and stakeholders in the electoral space.

3. Inasmuch as there may have been little rigging raids in the South West, it was very obvious that for once, the perceived non-indigenes had their votes counted. In my opinion, I think the president's use of the armed forces to man the streets as well as the bridling of the OPC gave some sense of security to these set of voters whom ordinarily , would have deserted the polling booths. This was also similar in states such as Kogi and Benue where the margins were very tight as the electorate voted against the ruling party due to their perceived grievances. In other words, the electorate was king in the South West and the Middle Belt.

4. Finally, as much as I hate to say this, GMB emerged as the President Elect because he had the best of Nigeria's Political Clout behind him. If it were just Northern votes, he should have been president in 2011. Its very obvious to note that these Political Clouts decided to shed-off the red clothes of the PDP for the green attires of the APC. We may be free to criticize GMB's rule when he takes up the mantle but the emergence of an unprecedented election like this to hold again will solely depend on the will of GMB in 2019 or another political wave like the one witnessed in this transition. Who knows? The PDP may not be dead after all.

My hopes are that we sustain the gains witnessed in this election while pushing for better reforms and even smoother elections come 2019 and beyond.
Please Nigerians, never forget to keep the President Elect and his team on their toes from every channel available. Memorize their manifesto and keep blowing whistles where you believe they have erred. The citizens of a nation are the most efficient watchdog that nation can ever have. Keep flexing your new found muscles and make every effort count.

Together, we can realize the Nigeria of our dreams.

President Goodluck Jonathan has begged the North, specifically the North-East geo-political zone, to support and vote for him on Saturday.

Jonathan in a letter titled, ‘My dear Arewa brothers and sisters’, which he personally signed, said it would be unfair for anyone to blame him for the Boko Haram menace which resulted in the death of over 15,000 Nigerians.

The President admitted that his administration initially underestimated the menace and that was why the terrorists were able to kill many Nigerians.

He added that the menace was compounded by the lack of equipment.



The President, however, said the successes recorded by the Armed Forces in the last six weeks showed that he was indeed capable of curbing terrorism. He, therefore, called on northerners to vote for him in order to perfect the work he had started.

He said, “I do understand that my first duty to you at this time is to rid the entire North of the menace of Boko Haram and secure your lives and property. You and I know that nothing in Nigeria’s past prepared us for the unprecedented reign of unmitigated terror, mayhem and destruction which these murderous terrorists have visited on parts of our country.

“The initial slowness in effectively responding to the threat was as a result of the asymmetrical nature of the war on terror and the need for us to properly equip our security agencies for the successful prosecution of the war.

“Given the recent successes recorded by our Armed Forces with your cooperation and patriotic support, the cooperation of our neighbours as well as the laudable gallantry of security agents, I am confident that in the shortest possible time, the menace of Boko Haram would have been eliminated for good.”

Jonathan’s inability to curb terrorism had made him very unpopular in some northern states to the extent that he was stoned in some of the states while he was campaigning.

Jonathan said he and the people of the South-South geo-political zone supported his late predecessor, Umaru Yar’Adua who was from the North.

He, therefore, urged them to do the same for him.

He said, “Because Nigeria today is in desperate need of stability, I plead with you to join me in building on the foundation of the traditional alliance between us which has always served to keep Nigeria one strong, united and prosperous nation,” he said.

The soaring popularity of Jonathan’s main rival, Maj.Gen Muhammadu Buhari (retd), of the All Progressives Congress, among the Arewa community seems to have jolted the President.

The Vice President, Namadi Sambo, also met northerners in Lagos on Thursday to beg them to vote for Jonathan for the sake of national peace and unity.

Incidentally, the wife of the President, Patience Jonathan, who has been campaigning for her husband, has avoided visiting the North-West and the North-East.

Offer not relevant in the 21st century, because the man you have so much projected with everything at your disposal does not have it. One thing all of us need to acknowledge is that God is in control of this country, whatever he says would be would be no matter what anyone does. I rest my case.

We have a wise man in power, filled with wisdom and inspired by the HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD. We know the evil in the society and what they can do, that is why the government in power is careful in everything. We thank God Almighty for the leadership we have in Nigeria today, if not APC or whatever they call them themselves will stop at nothing to throw the entire nation into aimless chaos. But one thing they (APC) should know is that what they seem to know best how to do, PDP is ready to give them three times. So my humble advice to them is that they should come out clean and play politics the way it should be. Look at what is happening on third mainland bridge..... PDP is ready to give APC double for their headaches.

There is nobody in Nigeria that does not know that GEJ has done well for Nigeria. The only problem many still have today is it cannot come from someone outside their region, except if it is from them, no one has done anything.
