budaatum: You know its difficult to follow that close in slipstream.
No swap could be done that early not with Seb clearly flying it would have been stupid. The smart thing was to bid time till they had to swap tires and not do anything to put the Mercs back into play. Neither driver is fighting for the title
Lana1: I swear. Said on twitter today that this Sars thing is just a way the police have legitimised armed robbery and kidnapping.
They clearly have. Have you seen what these mofos wear? If you run into them at night or daytime how can you differentiate them from bandits? Unnumbered vehicles. Bathroom slippers, wearing tattered jeans and reeking alcohol. What differentiates them from the robbers and kidnappers they are supposedly fighting?
Lana1: Which charges you wan even press against these guys? Do we even have rights in this country? If u try to go after them, you're probably just wasting ur time. Just look at twitter for example. We have been trending EndSars for like 2 years as far as i remember and still nothing has been done.
Your only hope really is to get your funds back if you're lucky. Half the time you're just happy to escape the scene in one piece that even going to report it is the least of your concerns (kinda what r@pe victims deal with too) Truth be told elenu ni wa and that's why things continue to be the way they are. We are a docile bunch.
Lana1: Trust me. I relate very much. But aside random searches on the road, i've only encountered them once where i had to follow them to station. Only thing they did was waste my time. Dem no see one kobo collect from me.
I heard there is even an app that has been created that you could use to alert people of their sighting so they know to avoid that route. That is how bad it has gotten.
MrBrownJay1: Ferrari strategy this year is mind-boggling as they truly make rookie errors... to the point where even Vettel is telling them that he will yield when leclerc gets closer.... which is what any driver would have said.
Leclerc was so stunned by Vettel passing him that he couldn't concentrate on the race at hand. He couldn't even pass Bottas for fukc sake.
Ham and Mercs are so far ahead, Ferrari should just concentrate on next year, as this one is a done deal.
The Constructors title will end in Japan. The year has been a wash
Ferrari try to be smarter than themselves sometimes with their weird strategies. The plan at this stage really should be how to finish 1-2 in as many races as they can till the end of the season and try to see if any of the drivers can finish ahead of Bottas. And the drivers both Vettel and Leclerc need to be made to understand this.
Vettel obviously didn't handle this situation well and I suspect he was punished for it however I'm yet to see Leclerc put the Mercs under any form of pressure either on race day when he has had to catch any of them
MrBrownJay1: I think they wouldn't have said anything but Leclerc was so much complaining about it on radio that they had to try to do something about it.... but they really didn't think Vettel would.have been that fast at the start.
Leclerc has been exhibiting some diva tendencies lately as well. He could clearly see he was going slower and yet kept whining like a child to be given back the position. At least wait a few laps or show some pace FFS
After all his whingeing he couldn't get past Bottas in the back end of the race even with DRS
That guy is something else. I've never seen a defender like him before.
Infact at some points, Matip will run forward with the ball, and Dijk was the only back man holding the line, in Sheffield uniteds half.
The guy is something else abeg.
This one is tales by moonlight. What's the attacking threat of Sheffield United that suggests VVD was carrying an immense amount of defensive load?
What of the game vs Chelsea where Matip was clearly the better defender at Stamford bridge. Or vs another quality opposition in Arsenal where Matip clearly showed his quality and was clearly better than VVD
MrBrownJay1: But Vettel WAS faster, there is no question about it, and would have pass Leclerc anyway.
I agree. If he held Seb up chances are Ham could have passed him. The more important question is why Seb kept pulling away and Leclerc could not keep up. At that point he was faster and they should have swapped positions via the pit instead of in race at such an early stage. No driver would yield position that quickly. Ferrari were crazy to think that would work
budaatum: I want him fired. He is destabilising the team. Ferrari in fact need a stronger boss! Gone are the days of "we shall be discussing your contract Vettel!"
The way I see it they called for a swap far too early in the race. Why not wait till the first pitstop or something? How can you be talking position swap by lap 5? Where Seb was positively flying. I wouldn't be surprised if Seb was punished for his disobedience but then again to what end?
At this point I think you just let them race since neither driver is willing to cooperate with the other, willingly at least.
Pretty weird flex. I'm wondering what agreement needed to be put in place when all Seb had to really do was follow Leclerc's tow. Had Leclerc not provided the tow his first place would be in danger anyway with Hamilton running beside him so would not make any sense either way
If Seb reneged on a hitherto agreement then that is very poor form on his part and I won't be surprised if Ferrari did something to his engine as punishment for not falling in line.
Still I'm wondering why Leclerc himself was so slow. Seb was goneee. He would have had to slow down and yet again inadvertently bring Hamilton back into play
airmark: So when Allison stupidly gifted Iheanacho one goal in August 2018, were you one of those that condemned him for being a useless keeper, because of that 1 high profile howler?. Subsequently in December 2018, Allison gave united another gift, but no, 1 high profile mistake in a new season is all needed to condemn VVD. You are terrible.
Who said VVD was useless? I don't know why you always use unrelated hyperbole to buttress your non existent points.
patrickmuf: VVD deserves all the plaudits...What do you define by struggles, he made a mistake vs Napoli but who hasn't made mistakes before? If you had the chance to pick between VVD and Matip at the moment, will you opt for Matip? And if you are asked who is the best CB currently, who's going to be your pick?
VVD is better obviously but thus far this season I will choose Matip. Though best CB is not decided in September so let's wait and see
What's abundantly clear is he is surrounded with excellent defenders but always gets sole credit
Adisaowallla: It still doesn't negate the fact that he was the best defender in the world last season and it's not even debatable.
I was not talking about last season. That's why I said from the start of this season
Adisaowallla: Last time I checked, even the Messis, Ronaldos and other GOATS had world class players as supporting castes - no be new thing.
As I said earlier, VVD's supposed current struggles shouldn't be a yardstick to undermine his achievements last season.
Messi and Ronaldo's contributions were not over hyped. VVD's own are. That's why in a recent poll of greatest PL defenders Van Dijk was second overall behind Vidic. Do you agree with that? Do you agree after Vidic it's Van Dijk
Adisaowallla: VVD's current "struggles" to attain last season's heights, should be the crux of the matter here.
No matter how hard we try to twist it, he was the best defender in the world last season and deserved all accolades and plaudits.
He got a lot of undue credit even last season when he was getting awards for exploits of his colleagues, case in point the CL Final where Allison was clearly MOTM.
This season it's not that he has 'struggled' but that people are slowly becoming aware of the talent and contributions surrounding him as well and of course no Allison
Lana1: It's really sad the state of this country. Police that is supposed to serve and protect are the ones harassing people right inside their police station sef.
And when you get released, you cant sue or press charges because lawless country.
Best thing na to just pray we never have the misfortune of encountering any unfortunate law enforcement in this country.
This one has passed harassment tbvh. Nigerians we have this habit of not calling something by its name. It's robbery and kidnapping what happened and what happens Everytime these incidents occur.
What that boy alleged happened to him is a robbery and a kidnapping. In any sane climate if the victim presses charges and all the police are liable to compensate the victim and in most cases dismissing the officers would be the least of their worries as they would also be facing jail time. If it is to round up Sowore now that's when they will show their efficiency.
Me sef don get numerous encounters with law enforcement it's quite exhausting and fortunately I've never had to drop a penny. However a lot of people have not been that lucky
Shut up your rubbish mouth. Who was talking about only this match? Since the start of the season people eye don dey open. Last I checked it wasn't Matip that handed Liverpool their first L this season
airmark: You are trying hard to impress your mentor, raumdeuter. You can only get him back when you start giving Fraudiola, the accolades. He will be so happy if you stop calling him Fraudiola.
I trust Madrid fans sha. Those ones will not have time for the Okoto meow meow skrrrrrrrr skrrrr wey Hazard defenders dey usually yarn after his usual disaster classes
Lana1: Abeg make una check out this thread on twitter on tell me what else this guy could have done to avoid(paying them money) this kind police harassment. Coz me i no fit give any lowlife hungry looking policeman 1 kobo from money i worked hard for. They rather beat me and if dem kill me, their loss coz they wont still see any money to collect.
Tf. "Man must chop". Because na me be ur papa or what??
I fúcking hate this country.
Smh. It's incredible how tone deaf and useless this Buhari administration and government is. Incompetence from top to bottom. See the speed they used to round up Sowore. Can't they apply same energy
I thought they disbanded them already only to shockingly hear they shot someone in that Dangote refinery/Ibeju Lekki axis
chic2pimp: Matip getting high praise on MOTD. It seems the lads in the studio think He was MOTM. However the dudes on Liverpool's This is Anfield fan's website beg to disagree. They had Van Dijk as their MOTM........Interesting!
Matip is the real MVP of that defense. People are slowly seeing the light, only casuals still dey chop this VVD hype
