Pep's team came back against Juve.
Against Porto.
Barca 6-1 is part of my does not tell the whole story thing. Na why Juve knack us better Akpako later.
No need to drag it with you. As you know the truth in your heart of hearts. Exactly. So you know Lool Porto. Please don't make me laugh I don't know anything. Actually on second thought Pep's failure to get past quarterfinal stage after 3 attempts at a different club tells me all I need to know |

Eruditor: You and me know your own agenda against Pep so no need to drag the matter.
My point is Sergio Ramos' 2 goals in quick succession from the setpeices finished that tie because it became 3-0 at that time.
So someone can look at 5-0 and think it was a whitewash. It does not mean it was. Well it says a lot about how the team was set up. Didn't Liverpool lose 3-0 first leg to Barca just last year. Roma nko? Didn't Barca come back from 4-0 deficit The point is you want to see your team fight! Is there a rule that says we could not equalize to make it 2-2 or even gone ahead to 3-2 Them dey forbid Pep team to come back?? It was positively a whitewash. Bayern played rubbish in both legs |

popizaino: It started from his last season at Barca, and all I can say is that pep guardiola always feels too confident going into any fixtures with the return leg in his home. He feels he can always score the much needed goals to advance to the next stage and keep his opponent at bay provided the scoreline doesn't exceed a single goal in the away fixtures. The disappointment of loosing is not entirely his as you would like to paint it.
Messi missing pk vs Chelsea Mullar missing pk vs Atletico Madrid Aguero missing pk vs Tottenham Aguero and Sterling missing chances a crippled old woman would score against Monaco. Why didn't Barca score at Stamford Bridge? Why couldn't Bayern squeeze a goal at Atletico. All this would not have mattered if Bayern were setup to score in away games where Pep's focus always seem to be on control and containment instead of getting a crucial away goal. And yet they had leaked two goals within 15 minutes at the Etihad. So na Monaco no miss chance? E gba mi. Which team no dey miss chance? Did they miss up to half of the chances Bayern missed vs Chelsea |

kendrick93: They were good but no way were they a better frontline than Messi,Henry and Eto'o trio. Based on paper and even on stats, that barca frontline was comfortably better They were a far more balanced team from goalkeeper to attack. Henry was old and a passenger at that stage of his career. Eruditor: The point was it was not Kovac's coaching or Bayern's far superiority. You can catch any good team on a good day.
Whether Bayern deserved to KO RM is not the point as well. The scoreline was not reflective of the tie at all. The scoreline might not equate to a gulf in superiority but it can show that a team was poorly prepared or was not in the right mental state to compete The scoreline did not show Madrid's vast superiority but what it did show was Pep did not set up the team to win that tie and that is why Bayern failed to create two clear cut chances in 180mins of football |

Lol I can still remember how snotty a lot of my Man U fan friends were both male and female and how they were bragging leading up to that Final especially after the Ovrebo incident. Plus they were unbeaten in Europe since the 07/08 season How can someone now come here and say Barca were favorites going into that Final. That one is burnt dodo |

Adiwana: So you want to compare winning La liga that streches over a span of 38 games to a champions league knockout game of 2 legs?? Playing a high flying Bayern side without a headcoach and a very inexperienced assistant manger that was yet to spend 1 season in top flight football was a time bomb that was always going to explode. Not even going to give the excuse of the fact that Barca were playing with an unfit Messi. This was during the period the manager was diagnosed with cancer and psychologically the team were defeated before the ball was kicked.Bayern were clear favorites going into that tie despite the fact that Barca were the team to beat at during that period. There is no evidence that suggests Tito (rest his soul) would have done anything spectacular if he was healthy or not. Bayern were not clear favorites going into the tie. It was very much 50-50. No Bayern fan dare predicted it would end in a rout Adiwana: You can't possibly be asking what a coach would've done vs what his assistant would've done in the same scenario. He is the head coach for a reason.Experience has always mattered in the competition.Even if Barca were to lose, the damage would've been minimal. It could've been a close tie,it could've been a case of winning at alianz arena and losing/drawing at Camp Nou
Pochettino a very experienced head coach was handed 7 goals at home.Imagine what that game would've been with his assistant at the dug out of that match This is still under probability. There is no telling what could have happened whether he coached or not So are you saying Tottenham could have lost 10-1 if the assistant was on the touch line or what? The presence of the head coach guarantees nothing!! Adiwana: And on your question, how did he lead them to disgrace??the league was pretty much a 1 horse race.Got them playing almost the same football.Brought Lahm back playing football as an u19 wonder kid.Players flourished under him.Led them to 2 Champions league semi finals.Could fault him for not beating Athletico Madrid but can't absolve the team for ball watching Saul dance through the midfiled to score and Alaba forgetting that he was a defender inside his own penalty area. Also theres no shame in losing to MSN.Bayern dominated the first leg but Lewandoski forgot how to score
Lack of winning the champions league was his only fault at Bayern The players flourished but each time Bayern went away from home in a CL tie we always got beaten. Ask yourself from Bayern to City what is it about Pep's tactics that he cannot buy an away goal and neither can he keep a home clean sheet vs any decent side in elimination situations. Why is it that you can almost bet that a Pep side will always fail to score away from home?? And lack defensive solidity to keep a clean sheet in his building Everytime. |

Eruditor: It is the same way CFC lost 4-0 to Ole's united
Same way Tottenham lost 2-7 to Kovac.
The scoreline did not tell the real story. Are you saying Tottenham didn't deserve to lose by that margin? What did they play after the first 25mins? Even their penalty was a fraudulent one. They should have lost 7-1 As for the Bayern vs Madrid debacle you would struggle to list 2 clear goalscoring chances Bayern created over both legs. We didn't deserve anything from that tie. |

Adiwana: No glorification in beating a team with no head coach that were psychologically won before the game even started. The Barca team then was a mess and Bayern took full advantage of that. And yet they won La Liga on a canter. What tactical input would Villanova had done that would save them from defeat? The question is why did Pep lead essentially the same Bayern to disgrace in the subsequent season? Since we are discrediting coaches. Explain how an 11 vs 11 Bayern suffered it's worst loss in CL history a year after winning treble. Maybe we would have been better off without a head coach |

Roland17: You make a terrific point about Russel. Russel Wilson’s successful career which culminated in winning a SuperBowl opened doors for black QB’s in the modern era. His role in this narrative is under rated and rarely spoken about in my opinion. He changed the perspective about color and that position. The QB used to be exclusively for Whites even when they were horrible. Today we have C. Newton, D. Watson, P. Mahomes, D. Prescott, J. Winston, J. Brissett, L. Jackson, K. Murray and they are all starting QB’s in the NFL. This is unprecedented and atoms can be traced to the success of Wilson. We have had quite a few black QBs in the past. I won't necessarily say he solely opened the doors but that the black QBs simply got much much better and more skilled as passers. Guys like Kordell Stewart, Cunningham, Culpepper were starting QBs that came around before Vick but neither of them were prolific pocket passers and never got the respect the white QBs got because of their passing deficiencies. The only black QBs that got any real credit were guys like McNair who was MVP once and Donovan McNabb. Though we also had some spectacular black QB flops (Jamarcus Russell) who didn't just lack talent but the work ethic as well that strongly hurt how black QBs were perceived. And then Mike Vick lol I will not put this revolution solely on Russell but he definitely played an important role especially due to his squeaky clean persona and abilities too |

He's a good QB but definitely not top. Not Mahomes, Russell and honestly not Deshaun Watson level. He will get paid because it's a QB's league. No one is disputing that |

Klopp turned a Liverpool team that were nonentities for almost a decade in England and Europe to a force within 3 seasons and has not spent nearly as much as Pep so pump your brakes. Roland17: Back to back games where he has faced quality defenses he has faltered, albeit I must say he did better against the Saints in comparison to the trash he played yesterday. The man is betting against himself for his quid and Jones himself is a gambler/ risktaker but it is a big risk and I hope he gets paid. There was something SAS said this morning that is quite interesting that no one seems to be asking and that is "How much was the guaranteed sum the Cowboys offered Dak that he rejected?" He looked terrible throwing the ball yesterday and for the sake of his quid, I hope he does not repeat such performance.
How about D. Watson? That man is legit!!!!!! Watching him gives me so much joy!!! The kid threw for 5 TD's and over 400 yards!!! I rate him higher than P. Mahomes and this is not a slight on Mahomes because I also rate Mahomes but D. Watson can kill you in so many ways. Dak is a game manager and like Max said that term is not a crime. He will be making an egregious mistake trying to pull off passing stunts and trying to do beyond his level just to look good. I remember people were shouting when he was blowing out the Redskins, Dolphins and Giants and I warned them to wait till they faced decent squads. I guess it's an ego thing and I would be a terrible agent if I represented Dak and took less than what the Rams and Eagles gave Wentz and Goff. Remember he's also been woefully underpaid his first 3 years. However he needs to strike a balance, he's making good money off the field just by being the Cowboys QB I don't know if Deshaun is quite Mahomes level. Mahomes is the most naturally gifted QB I've ever seen. I do think Watson is already a top tier QB though and might be even better with a half decent O-LINE (he holds on to the ball a little too long at times) but he's definitely the 3rd best black QB after Mahomes and Russell Wilson |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 11:09pm On Oct 07, 2019 |
birdman: you cant use this game alone as a way to judge his skills. Remember, Aaron Rogers had similar "struggles" last season - but simple things like O-line and offensive schemes can make a very good QB look ordinary. Dak is good, max contract good, and he will get paid wether its Dalls or elsewhere Guy make we leave that story. If you said the QB market is what it is then that is a much better argument but don't tell me Dak is a max contract guy. I no buy that one at all The reason why Dak will get paid is really due to the inflated QB market and the genuine scarcity of quality QBs in today's league. While I think Aaron Rodgers is overhyped if you give him Ezekiel Elliott and Amari Cooper he would do much much better than Dak is doing now. If anyone is being held back by O-LINE struggles it should be someone like Deshaun Watson not dink and dunk Dak |

Whittaker is a pure striker and so for me the most straightforward opponent for Izzy. It would basically come down to who's the quicker to draw and who has the sturdier chin. I also don't think Whittaker has fought a guy as unpredictable and can improv quite like Izzy. Hmmmmm |

Its not underrating him its just the truth you lot dont want to accept. But I'll do my talking at the appropriate time. Gastellum is short and stocky and almost (should have) finished your man after he hurt him and instead continuing to strike he went for a take down. Whittaker is bigger and generally has a better fight IQ than Gastellum. Plus Yoel beats izzy, easy. I was split on the fight before but i obviously knew unlike you, gastellum was never going to be KO'd hes never been ko'd in the ufc and his short stocky neck wont allow that easily. Honestly, gastellum is more of a welterweight than a middleweight. IMO this fight demystified him more than added to his talk but i'll leave at that. dont want it to sound as if im hating so i guess we'll wait until the reaper gets back. Ati lo ati de |
