European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Imagine if Messi played in the Epl, would he score 91 goals In one year? by A40(m): 8:29pm On Jan 02, 2013
Johnpaul88: Messi 'll win the World cup when his team mates and Argentina are ready for it. Football is a team work not an individual work. If Messi and Aguero keeps scoring and the defence keeps conceding, then they may never win.

But since Messi was handed the captain arm ban, under Alejandro Isabella , he 's really grown to be the leader of the team. Their team have been pretty consistent in 2012 and has risen in the fifa ranking to 3rd from lowly 9th at the turn of the year. It shows they are moving in the right direction ahead of the world cup.

And talking about the world cup, Argentina sit comfortably at the top of their qualifying table. So if any team is ready for this world cup, it is Argentina. They may yet win in Brazil and you Messi haters will have no more defence.
Messi is the hottest property now no doubt but to cement his legacy as the G.O.A.T he has to win the WC. Its just the way it is! Its a ritual its a rite of passage into immortality Pele,Beckenbauer,Maradona,Zidane,Ronaldo have all won the WC that's why they would be talked about 50 years from now! Trust me if Messi doesn't win the WC he would probably be remembered only by Barca fan
He is fortunate to be from a football superpower so really he has no excuse

StarBoard: Very true about Siasia and Lagerback.
Both didn't know what to do when put in front of a bunch of talented players.SoI see no reason why Osaze is being labelled a black leg here.
Siasia well I respect him as a manager even though his achievements came in age-grade competitions where age cheating is rife! He was ruthlessly exposed for the SE and at Enyimba

StarBoard: If I were Keshi I'd take heed and ammend my ways.
It's amazing that people will not see Osaze's past dedication and patriotism to the country, instead they take the easy sentimental route, like the Eagles were going to win the AFCON or something.
We all know the end result from the begining. When he was doing well in Tu
And great point about Keshi too.
He initiated this rubbish about selecting players as national tema captain. He tried to exclude Chidi Nwanu (who in my view was a better player than Keshi ever was) from getting to the national side up till the World Cup in 94. So why everyone forgets so soon about his previous activities as a national team player is beyond me.
Keshi is probably one of the most overrated players in SE history not as good as Gentle Giant as well
What irks me the most is nobody actually addressed the issues Osaze raised mind you this same Keshi has been accused of attempting to front as an agent for none other than Adebayor. And with the funny names I'm seeing on this list I wouldn't put it past him to be attempting an encore

But Messi never did score 91 goals for Barcelona?? 12 of the 91 was for the Albiceleste so why would anyone expect him to score 91 in the EPL

4llerbuntu: Contrary to the general opinion, this match simply reinforced my belief that as long as Wenger sticks to playing just one striker, it should not be walcott.

For me Walcott looked even better, and had more time and space when Giroud came on. A big man, small man combo would be worth exploring but this is Wenger we talking about. Ain't gonna happen.

Giroud is in danger of being a very very excellent striker I see. The difference between the midget upfront and him was so obvious even the charlatans beside me noticed that the attack simply gained substance with his entrance.
Ten more goals man, ten more....... I will give us my neighbours almost tear rubber daughter for free
.
Read what you typed again u are giving Giroud waaaay too much credit

4llerbuntu: I'm not sure i get you.

i said he played better, performed better with giroud on the pitch. that's not contradictory to what you are saying is it?

bottom line, whether he provided the assist or scored, he looked better playing off a pointsman.

unless of course u mean u could not identify what giroud's contribution was..................
This is very erroneous! Giroud's entrance had zilch to do with Walcott's game!! Actually. It was Walcott that spoonfed Giroud with both the goals he scored
Walcott had scored two goals already even before Giroud came on so unless you are telling me Giroud taught Walcott how to slalom past defenders in training then no he had no influence on Walcott's game whatsoever! Actually Walcott made Giroud look good not the other way round

I spent close to #200,000 doing ORACLE at APTECH. At the end, no Job. Employer say i no get experience, and I didn't study comp sci in school ( i did maths)
Haha I can relate bruv. Went through the same ordeal after school. You just have to stay self motivated. If you are going to be serious about being a DBA naija is just not the country for you. Talking from my experiences
The Nba is wide open this year....D-Wade isn't D-Wade right now......

And the Thunder only have 2 scorers(With WB being extremely Erratic)....

The Chip, is wide open for the Taking.

The Lakers as Horrible as we are, still have a chance in this wide open west.

Personally my Pick is the Thunder and Knicks in the Nba Finals.
Don't sleep on Ibaka tho. Dude has improved massively!!
Heat are still favorites in the East tho! Its not like the West where there are 3-4 contending teams. The Knicks are the only team that can pose a threat pending on how they sort the Amare conundrum
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 8:43pm On Dec 31, 2012
occam: oh yeah! so far they're 2- 0 against the Spurs and only lost in OT to Thunders early in the season.

This team is playing really well. But cos it's the Clippers people are expecting the other shoe to drop and something terrible will happen. Mother luck has never been kind to them. Maybe, just maybe this is the year of the Clips.
Maybe they have learned from last season. This season they have way more offensive balance! Jamal Crawford off the bench has been huge! I think he has the best crossover in the game. They where a bit naïve and wet behind the ears last season

The Broncos must be thanking their stars that they offloaded Cutler! He is sorta like Romo these guys just won't cut it when it counts its in their DNA!

Reid is gone for sure Turner would most likely follow. I also hope Todd Haley somehow gets fired
The Saints defensive coordinator is also due a sack IMO. The Saints D has been atrocious

Ibime: Daz impressive having been on bench or injured for about 2 months in total.
8 goals and 6 assists in 11 league starts! That is better than what shekpe keeper has averaged grin
Its a bit curious that he is playing this well in the final year of his contract but still he has handled the situation with grace and is performing when it would have been easier to pout and stink up the joint. Right now Bale is probably the only winger on Walcott's level in the EPL
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by A40(m): 4:17pm On Dec 31, 2012
4llerbuntu: Contrary to the general opinion, this match simply reinforced my belief that as long as Wenger sticks to playing just one striker, it should not be walcott.

Our 'rolls royce' attack kept trying to pass the ball into space for runs, when the ball got to Walcott, if it required more that three touches it was a waste of time. Hey, we scored seven but on the days when such spaces and chances are at a premium... ...................

For me Walcott looked even better, and had more time and space when Giroud came on. A big man, small man combo would be worth exploring but this is Wenger we talking about. Ain't gonna happen.

Giroud is in danger of being a very very excellent striker I see. The difference between the midget upfront and him was so obvious even the charlatans beside me noticed that the attack simply gained substance with his entrance.
.
Lol I find this comment hilarious! I really do! Are you saying Walcott benefited from Giroud or was it Giroud that actually benefited from Walcott?? Who provided the assist for both the goals Giroud scored? What role did Giroud play in any of Walcott's goals?
Theo is a gem! People might nit-pick one or two mistakes he makes but the numbers don't lie! 14 goals and 9 assists already and we are just in the halfway point of the season
Like someone pointed out earlier Theo's pace would keep opposition defences honest leaving room for the midfielders to operate! I dunno why there is this sub-conscious default feeling that you must play a plank at CF! The Arsenal setup has shown that this doesn't always work!
Make una pay the guy him money!! He's the only threat I can see against Bayern
