Arrewa: sorry to disappoint you...
Out of 19 Northern state... We are facing security challenges in 3 northern states and That happens to be villages.
But because of the love and unity in the north... We share the pains of these states protesting and demanding for a secured north.
But bigots online and offline would come to tell us how the whole northern states has been terrorized.
Once there is kidnapping in any village in Zamfara.
They will come online to tell how there is kidnapping in the north... They will never mention zamfara.
They will never tell you people were kidnapped in a village in Zamfara or Kastina rather they would say north.
They're doing all this to send a signal that the whole of Northern states are unsafe.
Gombe is one of the safest state in Nigeria.
Bauchi is safe!!
Kano is safe!!
Adamawa is safe!!
Yobe is safe!!
Jigawa is safe!!
Kebbi is safe!!
Taraba is safe!!
And other northern states that hardly record case of robbery in a year.
The north is a region with 16 core northern states.
But children of hate would come online to tell the world how unsafe the whole northern region is.
The way you bigots always scream north up and down makes me believe that majority of think that north is a state not a region.
You guys should stop all this senseless stereotypes!
My state kano is more developed and peaceful than the entire Eastern states put together. pls remove yobe from the list. personally I experienced Boko Haram attack at babbangida last month. which yobe safe |

[quote author=felixzo1 post=89103666]seen a few twin birth too but the issue of sterility in twin of different sex is a great concern (freemartin)I feel dairy farming will be more profitable on a micro scale (5 cows or less) especially in you live where the milk can be easily marketed ( Abuja and environs,kd and environs,Kano etc)I noticed most of the nunu (fermented milk) sold in Abuja is made from powdered milk. And usually not creamy, yoghurt is even worse.if someone can capture a small part part of this market, money can be made.
Dairy farming is still at infancy in Nigeria. African countries like Kenya have gone far in annexing the potential of this industry. The reality is, the high producing breeds like Holstein, jersey and Guernsey are expensive though if properly managed, the investment would be worth it. Holstein is the highest producing breed with an average of 40 litres of milk per cow per day on a 305 days lactation period, although the milk production may be lower in the tropical region like sub Sahara Africa where u get 18-30litres. The milk solid of this breed is however lower to that of new jersey. Also, the awareness of the health benefits of raw and pasteurized milk need to be emphasized. You are absolutely correct. You can't compare a yoghurt made with fresh milk to the one made with powdered milk. The creamy taste with no sweetener. Fresh milk is also the best for Greek yoghurt. Also, a farmer can get a pure bull of any of those breeds for gradual improvement of the milk production of his herd . This can be done to improve the beef quantity and quality by get getting a fast growing beef bull/quote] |

Ade3131: Wow... Such an educative thread. I read from page 1 to 16 and I must confess it's worth the time. I feel breeders should have advanced to the stage of identifying heifers with potential of given birth to 2 set of calf bcuz their multiplication rate is extremely low. Twinning is more common in dairy cows. I have seen few cases in indigenous beef cattle. And there is freemartinism in twin calves of different sex. Although its more beneficial to beef production. To make beef cattle farming profitable in this part of the world, farms need to focus more on the 'little milk' the beef cows have to offer. The sales of milk and it's products would cater for the farm's running cost while the yearly calf sales would be the profit...IMO |

aaaazq: first pic: a bokolo calf with deeper body, loose skin under the belly and the broad hump
2nd pic: British white calf firm body no hump, no loose skin beneath. though they both have dewlaps.
the British calf grows faster than the bokolo calf. they are of the same age. the British cows are also larger than the bokolo cows at maturity
3rd pic a bokolo cow

Kingsley10000: tell him to buy 150 point of lay pullets(layers).....They will be giving him 5crates of egg every day which amounts to 5k and monthly 150k
it's very simple...no drugs or vaccination if u get from a good source you can even be doing another business as it takes little time, just feed them and provide water once in a while put multivitamins and pick your eggs in the evening......once in 2wks clean the pen and change the old litter(wood shaving) this one na lie o. 5crates from 150 layers? you must be an internet farmer. even the farm he is to source from uses drugs and vaccinations or organic supplements. oga no mislead people. I assure you, from the projected 5k daily income , you will spend mininum2500 on feeding per day. |
