Hello everyone, please has anyone gotten their expedited appointment approved in the last three weeks for Abuja embassy?

How long does it take to get a response for F1 expedited visa appointment? I have been waiting for over two weeks now.

Someone suggested creating a new profile and applying through Lagos anyone with a suggestion please help.

My school resumes in August.

Unless you are willing to interview and pickup your passport in lagos just be patient and wait for the abuja embassy

Finally got my Visa today 4 months after initial interview waiver application and 2 follow up interviews later, curiously DHL refused delivering my passport to Abuja from Lagos saying i had to pick up in Lagos or send someone to pick up on my behalf despite my pickup location set to Abuja. for anyone else going through the same difficulties don't lose hope once all checks are complete you will be issued your visa

finally received a mail to send in my passport after administrative processing the letter states i can submit at Hafsat plaza in abuja or at Muri Okunola in lagos i went to hafsat plaza to submit my passport they refused to collect it stating since the application is in lagos i have to physically take the passport to lagos.

does anyone have a similar experience and will i be able to send my passport for someone else to submit without having to physically go to lagos?

I wanted to reply him , but got suprised inbetween Carrying two valid passports with separate visas can raise brows, but like you said, this is Nigeria. Use rubberband for both, and present to immigration as you are traveling. safe trip

i dont argue anything in nigeria because anything can be done and undone but thats his only option really

Two active Nigerian passports. Since one is allowed to renew his passport 6 months to expiration. Besides, I could only apply for a US visa with a passport with minimum of 6 months validity

the older one should have been cancelled once the new one was activated but this is Nigeria. for your travels attach both passports with rubber band and present both at immigration

very similar situations i was working abroad at the time ad had come home for vacation checked and saw date in about 10 days and decided to apply immediately after the interview the lady cancelled the visa i had and 3 days later i got the new one

I’d advise against it. All the folks I know who tried to renew while holding a valid visa were rejected. Your circumstances may be different, but maybe just wait until it expires before getting a renewal

my last visa in 2020 i renewed in january when the visa was expiring in sept was given two years but visa expiry was in Jan 2022 as against sept if i had waited

The quote you put up is just asking if you’ve lost any passport since you got your last US visa. If you have all your passports with you, then you answer Yes to the question.
Having a passport in between doesn’t disqualify you from using Dropbox.

My last visa was in an old passport and I only submitted that and my current passport. The DHL lady refused to accept my in-between passport since there was no US visa in it.

they did not take any of my old passports at DHL i think its only when the expired visa is in a different passport that they take both

1. Please did your status at anytime showed refused"
2. Is the interview a continuation of your ongoing process or you are starting afresh
3. Did you get any email stating the exact documents that you need, for a decision to be taken.

I am seeing online that "Refused" may also mean that "administrative processing" will kick in.....this is a dropbox application

refused means they have denied your application for interview waiver renewal. going forward if asked if you have been refused a visa you have to say yes.
1.Yes the status shows refused once a consular officer goes through your file and determines you don't qualify. however for some applicants they will undergo administrative processing which can take up to two months before being asked to come back for a follow interview, in the past they used to approve and then do administrative processing but that means your passport will remain with them until they are done and you receive your visa
2.The interview is a continuation of your process and not a new application
3.You receive a paper telling you what documents you need to bring for the follow up interview when you receive your passport

I see. Like you said, sending a mail with an appointment link is the best. This lottery-like method would always cause people to miss booking appointment dates and i hope someone could contact them on this.

i am sure they know already but somehow i think it benefits some in Nigeria cos outside of Nigeria you rarely get these issues with dates and booking appointments

What time did you check last week? The truth is, a lot of applicants with 221g are also checking for dates as you're doing. Those dates are always picked on a first come first served basis. My cousin came visiting this evening and shared the screenshot of last week's appointment schedules released. He said he screenshot it and left it to be booked later as he was a bit busy. He also needed to check his itinerary so he doesn't book an unsuitable date. By the time he now checked to book, he discovered all of them had disappeared. See the screenshot below. If you've been checking for weeks yet, you didn't see the ones released last Thursday, then it means those dates don't stay long before they are all taken. 221g applicants are quite much. I saw lots of them the day i went to pick my passport at isolo

i check mostly in the afternoon and early hours say 5am but in my own case the dates were there for a few hours as i had to confirm my work schedule before choosing and the same slot of 7 am and 7:30 am were still there another angle is that those that were refused under 221g have some sort of administrative processing done and maybe you can start seeing dates when they are done but other people here have gotten after 6 weeks of checking. i just wish they would send an email rather than this lottery of checking.

My cousin who was served 221g in March had been checking. Last week, he told me he saw 4 different dates with 8 different times when he checked around 5:30pm. He said he couldn't choose any date because he was busy so he thought of doing that later. By the time he logged back, all the available dates had disappeared lol. Yesterday he logged back in the morning and checked, no dates. Later, around 1:30pm he said he logged back again. He had even given up with the last week's experience but I encouraged him to keep checking. Cos his programme in the USA was really close. He said he saw 4th May and 12th May and quickly booked 4th May and logged out.

With what you're now saying, it means you were unable see 4th May when you checked cos people had taken it. Maybe that 12th May you mentioned was no more as of the time you posted this message. Maybe more people are applying these days cos summer is approaching. It wasn't like this last December when a friend advised me to apply cos there were a lot of close dates for IW applicants then. He applied in December and received his passport back within a space of one week. Mine took 3 weeks in march and who knows, those applying now could experience more delays, Summer is approaching.

To those paying for interview dates. There's no secret or special favour to it. You cannot bribe those oyinbos to get dates. This is what you're not doing, which I'd encourage you try, if you need an appointment date.

Log into your cgi portal in the morning, around 9:30am, try again around 12:30, 1:30pm and 5:30pm respectively. You'd thank me later. Those agents you're contacting know these tips but would never tell you. By the time they finally get dates for you, you see them as superhuman. You may keep giving them your money if you don't have time to do the needful.

its possible but i have also been checking around 2pm for a while and nothing but truly it doesnt make any sense to pay anyone to do it for you as they also will just be checking randomly until successful
