Even the death of an unborn baby, that died as a result of God punishing the mother (let's take the punishment to be "being swallowed in an earthquake" or "dying in a fatal accident" ) cannot be justified as the baby is also a sinner like you mentioned (Sin of Adam). You cannot know the mind of God. He has establish His laws for us to follow. The Bible tells us in Deuteronomy 17:19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them.

God has His own reasons for what He does. Without obedience and fear of the Lord you cannot comprehend this spiritual matters in human terms.

-killing through earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis
-More killing by creating different kinds of diseases & pathogens and modifing them to be better killing machines if we find solutions to the weaker strain
-Plaquing his beloved children with hunger & poverty for them to die miserably....Killing again!!!

Read your Bible. We ae all sinners. We are born into sin from Adam and Eve. As a father punishes a child so must God punish us for our evil hearts. How he does this is not for us to judge. He is God. We must only obey and remain in his favour.
