Since FG is making plan to reconstruct the North East let them start the Niger Development at same time since it is same oil money they want to use and develop the North East.let me stop here. dafuturis: All of the above but more of fear from their political sponsors. The militants aren't fighting for the people of Niger Delta but for some selfish Niger Delta elites. They are not fighting for the Niger Delta but they allowed the elders to dialogue with the federal government while MEND against the move. Rather urging the federal government to go the military way. |

aressssa: Pandering and prostrating to criminals and terrorists and letting them hold us to ransom and blackmail every year is more dangerous and destructive which affects me more than the price of Naira.
Submitting to terrorists means you abdicated and given up your sovereignty and authority. You've also let terrorists know that you are weak, you can not fight or defend your country and they are free to hold you to ransom whenever they need money.
If you pay them today, you'll keep paying them and getting disruptions forever because next year another terrorist group will show up with a new name demanding the same thing.
It's either you stand your ground or keep getting hold to ransom and blackmail, having your authority and sovereignty undermined forever. You don't like Nigeria to be one. Those are Niger Delta freedom fighters |

rhymaster: I am beginning to wonder if it is possible that (nearly) everyone from this area (ND) and their SE supporters are bereft of basic, critical thinking skills. To be clear, I am not counselling you against damaging your land and environment, destroying it - you've been doing it for so long, with the connivance of your leaders who receive money, budgets and have not done anything about it. Think for a minute, leading countries in the world manufacture advanced and destructive weapons, chemicals, etc but will never use it on home soil - but launch their drones, missiles far from home but the ND and their supporters are destroying their own home?
What is the point of listing all the terminals owned by those companies? So that you can destroy them? If you spill 1 million barrels of crude in your land and water, you will be dying and falling sick for the next 100 years - who loses? The monies that NDDC, your state governments, amnesty, etc retrieved; have you used it to improve / build the ND? Why didn't Dokubo build his university in the ND, but went all the way west to Benin Republic (which has larger Yoruba stock populations)? Tom polo? Your governors? Senators? Reps? Why not find and elect good leaders in your states that first start to devote 100% of their time and your resources to investing and building the ND? Non-corrupt, non-violent and educated people are in fast decline in your areas as the only thing you see and preach is violence and getting drunk until they blow a pipeline in their delirious state!
Did any of you see the coastal views of Brazil during the olympics? I could only wonder what would have been to have areas of the ND naturally blessed with beautiful coastlines, swamp and green vegetation developed as tourist areas with all that beauty I saw in Rio! Imagine golf courses, sports arena, 1000 swimming pools all mantained by people who work there and get salaries from the non stop events that will be hosted there and tourism! Rather, you're thinking of destroying it - how will these affect oil companies who will simply declare a force majeure, get out of any financial obligations to government, which reduces the 13% you'd get and allocations? Most of the people in ND areas do not work in oil & gas and so far as they can buy petrol and kerosine from open market, even imported, they're fine. I hope after destroying your environment and scaring away all investors, you will not be giving ultimatum for the same investors and oil companies to relocate their head office to your environmentally degrades states. Mr Environmentalist since oil was discovered in 1956 there is gas flaring causing very serious environment pollution. Those agencies are not working. |

Onix01: Another propaganda to demean and tarnish the past president GEJ. My understanding with the current situation of NDA and GEJ's connection is highly influenced by the pipeline contract fully given to some groups back then. This enables the group to plant bombs in various locations towards the election period inorder to destabilise the Nation in case theirs didn't win. GEJ made loads of mistake but we should put his regime to rest and focus on what we have ahead for the sake of our children. His good will of not declaring elections inconclusive shows his love for the Nation. I admired GEJ's Patriotism for Nigeria, though I didn't vote him coz of his careless statement while in power (Corruption isn't stealing). Your hate of Ijaw will kill you |

Why would I want to set up my company in a zone full of militants and unserious minded people who at every slight disagreement will blow up my assets. The problem is most Nigerians is that they want to be rewarded without doing anything. In the sixties did you hear any vandalism, the answer is No. This is because the south South doesn't know more about oil and gas issues. Now they know very very well. Aufbauh: Any responsible and responsive government will not have overlooked such weighty allegations made against GEJ & his co-travelers considering the modus operandi and the demands of those militants.
Their complicity was strengthened by the fact that there was a dead silence from the NDA after the RNDA disclosure and their threat to spill more of the beans if there is rebuttal. Let all states contribute to the centre you hear |
Politics › Re: FG Probes Jonathan Over Bombings In Niger Delta - Daily Trust by Ababadada: 8:06am On Aug 18, 2016 |
DropShot: It's time the FG do the right thing.
As I said in the past, the allegation by the militants against Jonathan is very weighty as it borders on economic sabotage and national security. Not investigating it will only portray the FG as incompetent.
The fact that the IB handed over powerr peacefully is not an indication he has no connection with the terrorists; only naive and those with basic reasoning ability will believe so. Handing over to Buhari could as well be a strategy to conceal his involvement in the whole saga. Not handing over peacefully, followed by the militancy will easily have given him away as the man behind them.
Another salient point is Jonathan's swift rebutal of the allegation and his counter accusation that MEND is after his life. When I read his denial and accusation, I immediately suspected Jonathan has a thing to do with the terrorists. If the IB has no link with the terrorists, he wouldn't lose his sleep over their allegations let alone turning around to accuse them of being after his life. A clear mind doesn't act that way.
No doubt the Ineffectual Buffoon encouraged the scAvengers since his days as president by nudging them on with their inflamatory rhetoric (if Jonathan didn't pick PDP's nomination, Nigeria will burn. If he lost the election, Nigeria will disintegrate, etc.).
The only advice I have for the FG is to do a very thorough job and bring anyone sponsoring the scAvengers to swift justice no matter how highly placed in the society. What the south South need now is justice on her resources. Restructure the country for the betterment of us. |
