combination of the two pyramids of Saqqara, and dashur.

Bent pyramids or the pyramid of dashur
|
The Step Pyramds of Saqqara. This pyramids was builted during old kingdom period under the pharaoh Djoser. what is interesting his chief architext was Imhopet. What is interesting about Imhotep is his life story is similar to the torah, bible or koranic story of the old testament Joseph. If he and Imhopet one of the same person, that would be interesting to say the least.

The pyramid of Meidum, this was builted by Huni, but latter finished by his precessor Khufu, this is the old kingdom pharaohs

The answer to your question rabzy is a resounding, Yes! Timbuktu is not necessarily a civilization but it was part of the kingdom of Mali and Songhai Empire. there is tons of information on the internet, why don't you research it yourself. here is a couple of links, enjoy http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/hd/sghi/hd_sghi.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Songhai_Empire https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNw_gPwsnIw&feature=related |
Yes Rabzy it's really European wishful thinking. They would love to consider themselves the savour of barbarous African cultures, but the reality is not true. Besides the culture in the Sahara Sahel region, sophisticated African Civilization abound, such as the civilization of Kush which is southern Egypt and Northern Sudan, The Kingdom of Axum which is Ethiopia, and Eritrea, The Swahili Kingdom in the east coast of Africa which traded with the Chinese during The 14th century. The Christian Kingdom of Abyssinia which rule the horn of Africa and parts of the Arabian Peninsular, the Christian Nubian Kingdom of Faras, Alwa, and Makuria which ruled Northern Sudan and Upper Egypt Collectively. also the kingdom of Kanem Bornu which ruled what is now north eastern Nigeria, part of Niger, Chad, and parts of Libya, Benin in west Africa, and the Great Zimbabwe in Southern Africa and the Hausa states in Nigeria and Niger collectively to name a few. You sound like a very colonize person Rabzy, so i suggest you decolonize your mind. |
sorry, here is the web site. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://nubie-international.fr/photos/403060KermaK2.jpg&imgrefurl=http://nubie-international.fr/accueil.php%3Fa%3Dpage403060%26lang%3Den&usg=__3c-WP0IzfA5e-BeQCW_0xyBjokE=&h=331&w=380&sz=35&hl=en&start=38&um=1&itbs=1&tbnid=Hbu_hobh3zH67M:&tbnh=107&tbnw=123&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dkerma%26ndsp%3D18%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1R2ADFA_enUS338%26sa%3DN%26start%3D36%26um%3D1 |
The mud brick structure of temple is called a deffufa, which means red mound. Here is a diagram how the temple look like in the past.
|
This is not a pyramid complex, but it was perhaps a cultural center of the so called A or C group people that archeologically catorgorize as, however from the distance it look like a weird mountain but it was a temple. Needless to say this was the heartland of the Kingdom of Kerma, and the location is between the 3 and 4 cataracts in northern sudan. Also, here is the web site from archeologist that excavate this region.

The pyramid of Senusret II : middle kingdom 12th dynasty.

I did see the videos on youtube, it was very interesting, indeed. Madlady this question is kind of controversial in my part of the world, but i am going to ask it anyway, Do you think the people in the nile valley enslave the Jews? I want to hear you opinion about this issue, i am grappling with! |
Really Madlady, I did not know nigeria has a native Jewish Population. I know in sudan, people with Isreali passports are not allowed in the country, obviously because of political reasons. I never knew nigerians had native jews. however, i keep on hearing from this forum that some igbos consider themselves of jewish origins. I thought that was mere myth, but do you think it is true? |
EvenThough, i disagree with this guy that presented his youtube videos about everything pertaining to sudanese history, this jewish connection have me somewhat curious. tell me what you think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zD5VOLYeRc&feature=related |
Some people wud say this is just a borrowed islamic culture, that it is not of an african or sub-saharan african origin Rabzy: As you already know, that is europeans wishful thinking. Statements like this shows their jealousy of african cultures. |
Pyramids of Taharqo at the pyramid complex in nuri northern sudan. He rule egypt, sudan all the way to the white nile and possibly ethiopia, also rule part of the middle east or the levantine area. He pyramid is nearly demolish, however i hear that his tomb which is underground is very well preserve and it is incredibly huge. here is the ruin pyramid of Taharqo with a well preserve tomb.

Pyramid of Amenemhet III 1842 BC - 1797 BC Hawara, Egypt This mud-brick pyramid was originally covered in limestone. It is the burial place of the Middle Kingdom pharaoh Amenemhet III, who also built a pyramid at Dahshur. Hawara is an oasis in the Faiyum.

pyramid of jebal barkal northern sudan
|
MandingoII why are you so hateful to these people? I am just curious, because your lashing out does not help anything at all, it only cause chaos, and division. Trust me, i am northern sudanese and i do know about division, which does not benefit no one, and this statement goes to all the divisive indivduals on this trend. MandingoII is not alone in this, we africans need to get over our differences, and start uniting as africas whether we are west, east, north and south or diasporia at the end of the day we are africans. I am trying to education modern Nubians and other groups in egypt and sudan to this reality. |
Eventhough, i am focusing on pyramids in both Misr and Cush, i had to show this temple of "Naga" in northern sudan, it was taken by a tourist, and the night background with the lights looks absolutely beautiful.
|
EZEAGU I cannot help but notice that your isp says south sudan, are you in south sudan, or are you in support of their independence movement? I just curious! As you are very well aware i am from the north more close to misr or egypt. However, it is very likely the two countries will separate, because the history and civilization is quite different to say the least, but i love my southern brethren. However, if the south separate, i have the feeling the north sudan and egypt will probably first unite economically, and probably once again like during the pharaonic period be one country. similar people with a shared history under the ancient belief of Ma'at. |
Second in line to his father Amenemhet is his son SesotrisI, he has expanded his kingdom to part of Syria, and all the way to the 3 cataracts into what is now Northern Sudan. As mentioned before the 12th dynasty or middle kingdom was definitely of Cush/Ta Seti. This is his pyramid even though it is very ruin, but it had many artifacts you might see in museums all over the world.

http://www.touregypt.net/featurestories/amenemhet1.htm this is amenemhet story about his ascention to the throne, which is a read. |
This is the 12 dynasty pharaoh amenenhet who was infact of cushitic or nubian origin himself, however went to war with the people beyond the third cataracts which is sudan today. how do we know the origin of this particular pharaoh? Because of the prophecy of Neferti which highlights his dubious acention to the throne. here is a article i found over the net, it is a good little read. also remember the word "ta seti" means land of the bow, and its usually denote nubia or cush. His pyramids is extremely ruin, but i want to highlight the less known pyramids in the nile valley, also to give people a idea the number of pyramids in both Sudan and Egypt. Which is over 200!

sahure pyramid. The pyramid sahure was obviously buried here, he ruled during the old kingdom or 5th dynasty time frame.
|
Aloy-Emeka: My dearest Aloy-Emeka would i use that horrible "N" word on this forum. No, dear that word is a term of endearment, however sometimes it can be use as a negative co notation however that's rare, but most cases it is positive. They have other nasty words to describe others that are different from us. what i mean us mainly Egyptians both north and south, Northern Sudanese and some Horners.Needless to say, i don't prescribe to stupid divisions, and the people i associate with are the same. I am all for Nile Valley Unity mainly Egypt and Northern Sudan and possibly Ethiopia in the distance future, and also unity within the African continent, but in the very distance future. We have to clean our house first before unifying with others. |
"Pyramids of Djedfre" this pyramid was builted during the old kingdom possibly by khufu son. however, the pyramids is very ruin but parts of the tomb is preserved.
