Culture / Re: Show Pictures Of Africas Art And Archaeological Treasures by ababda: 7:53am On Dec 09, 2009 |
epi, i guess it depends on the individual in reference if one consider themselves a tribe or ethnic group or otherwise. since, i am not nigerian, i would not know. however, in northern sudan and upper egypt that is a different matter altogether, since i am of the nile valley region. |

unlike it northern neighbor that was conquered by the greco-roman world, the meroites were actually independent and traded with the greco-roman world extensively. they even had ambassors in rome. also, as mentioned before there were cultural exchanges that took place from both peoples. as you had nubians or meroites that lived in rome. you had romans and many other foreigners living in nubians cities in northern sudan as well. there is archeological evidence from cities such as meroe and now the new found ancient city of dangeil comfirm this. here is a statue of dionysos which was buried in the pyramids in meroe in the northern cemetery in northern sudan.

it is apparent that you don't know much about africa, my friend. do you know how diverse the african continent truly is? there is a great difference of history lets say christian ethiopia which have been practicing christianity way over 1000 years, than the cultures of western, central and southern africa, also there is differences within nigeria itself, especially between the northen and southern nigeria. question, which religion do you want africans to follow, i may ask? prior to christianity and islam all of the entire planet followed pagans belief systems, i guest only except the jews of course. so should we follow the ancient religions of the pharaonic egypt and northern sudan, or should we follow the religions of the yoruba? |
