jerseyboy: Governor Fashola should please release PVCS cards Igbo Lagos residents. Fashola a man that at times aspires to higher ideals must resist his God father Owner of Lagos Ahmed Bola Tinubu on this very issue. He must not allow himself to be dragged to the lowest of Nigeria's political gutters by disenfranchisement of your fellow citizens. Mr. Fashola you are better than that. Get the PVCs out of the hands of the Iyaolojas and party touts masquerading as local government employes asking people for voting inclinations or bribe before handing them out. This you must do in the name of fairness, justice and humanity. Our Igbo brothers and sisters might actually be galvanize by this sordid act that it might come back to bite you big time.
Fashola, release IGBO PVCs. NOW. I don't knw the day Fashola turned to INEC official.when other tribes were struggling to collect their pvc,the Ibos were busy with their trade at Alaba market, trade fair,Ladipo,Yaba etc why are these ibos so controversial? |

The Independent National Electoral Commission has said it is yet to take a decision to shift the general elections or hold them as scheduled.
Kayode Idowu, the spokesperson to the INEC Chairman, Attahiru Jega, disclosed this to PREMIUM TIMES a short while ago.
The presidential and national assembly elections has been fixed for February 14 while those of the governorship and state houses of assembly are scheduled for February 28.
The Nigerian government and the ruling Peoples Democratic Party have been pushing for the postponement of the polls citing the security challenge in the northeast zone of the country as well as INEC’s poor handling of the distribution of the Permanent Voters Cards as reasons.
Although the electoral body has insisted it was ready for the elections, the Council of State rose from its meeting on Thursday asking it to go ahead, while also advising it to consult widely on the matter.
This prompted INEC to commence a fresh round of consultation at the end of which it would address a press conference later today (Saturday) to announce the its decision on the matter.
Mr. Idowu told this newspaper via a text message no decision had been reached on postponement contrary to a report by an international news agency.
In fact when PREMIUM TIMES contacted Mr. Idowu, he spoke in low tone, saying his Commission was in a consultative meeting with the leadership of the 28 political parties.
At the time of this report, members of the Civil Society Organisations, CSOs, were about to take their turn after which the Commission would meet with the 36 state Resident Electoral Commissioners and that of the Federal Capital Territory.
Asked to confirm if the elections had been postponed as reported by some media organisation, Mr. Idowu said, “Nothing like that (has been) decided by INEC yet.” |

kekakuz: lagosians are satisfied with the tinunbu empire so they are not asking question. they have been blinded buy the veil of PDP hatred so they are OK with whatever tinunbu /fahola wants for them. no questioning no investigation.
by the way let me take this chance and this space and this opportunity and this time to educate those that are shouting Jonathan is corrupt what is corruption. is stealing corruption can a president fight corruption. is corruption a crime
corruption is a part of human nature. the tendency not to do the expected. a kind of defiance and an act of being unethical.its totally natural and can be controlled.
is stealing corruption. well its important to draw the line between crime and corruption. stealing is purely a crime and a graduated form of corruption. corruption is not necessarily punishable but crime is. so if someone steals, let's leave it to the law enforcement agency to do their job.
can a president fight corruption. everyone in a democratic setting is gilded by law. especially a country like Nigeria that operates a bicameral legislature. so it is left for the constitution to spell out what is punishable or not. if the law state that a director must account for their monthly spending and he refuse or is found to have stolen, you don't need the president to tell EFCC or the police to do their job. asking a president to fight corruption is like telling him to be a dictator and interfere with the judicial process.then he has the power to accuse anyone and punish. then absolute power will corrupt.
finally how do we fight corruption. we have seen the Nigerian law makers concern themselves with irrelevant oversight functions where they even ask for bribe in the process. these are supposed law makers that are meant to strengthen the constitution as the only true tool to tackle corruption. if our laws clearly spells out how the treasury should be managed and it States clear punishments, if the constitution gives every Nigerian the right to question the government on its spendings.if the constitution mandates the governors and chairmen to make public. its monthly spending, then corruption will be fought squarely.
sadly the man that tried to put these things in place and respect the judiciary by organising town Hall meetings and national conference is being accused of leading a corrupt government. not knowing that we are the ones creating a favourable condition for the cultivation of corruption.
instead we are busy asking for someone who will handpick people and punish them at will.forgething that we run a democratic government and must respect the judiciary. How did you collect from pdp? |

- By what % has our crude oil price fallen since January 2014? - Is Nigeria still heavily reliant on Niger Delta oil revenue? - What policies did previous federal administration put in place to encourage LOCAL production & consumption for economic diversification compared to what Jonathan/Sambo did in just five years?
If this is not done how do you want private investors to produce vehicles locally? You may wish to read about China & South Korea's industrialisation before you respond so as not to embarrass yourself further by exposing your lack of comprehension for matters that you are discussing. Cheers!
Vote wisely!!! your comment shows that you are daft and clueless like your master....so for private investors to produce vehicles locally what you and your clueless president need to do is to hike importation rate...you must be from polygamous family....go and beg your step mothers.i will not say more than that |

Jonathan inherited 774 LGA, today he has ceded 30 to Shekau of Boko-haram. Jonathan inherited 23 PDP Governors but he ceded 5 to opposition APC. Jonathan inherited 4000 megawatts of electricity but we are now left with 2500 megawatts with obnoxious tariff from PHCN. Jonathan inherited 2.4 million barrel quota from OPEC but he ceded 1 million barrels to smugglers. Jonathan inherited a Naira value of 155 to dollar but Naira is now traded at 270. Jonathan inherited 30% unemployment but he has doubled it to 55%. Jonathan inherited positive AAA rating bond but JPMORGAN has rated our bond negative. Jonathan inherited a surviving stock market but he killed the stock market. Jonathan inherited 10% duty on tokumbo cars but he increased it to 70%. Jonathan inherited #chibokgirls but he lost them to Shekau. Jonathan inherited a rag tag boko Haram. he will be leaving behind a sophisticated and daring Boko Haram by May 29th 2015. Jonathan inherited a booming economy but doom is what he is about to handover. To top it off, Jonathan is promoting STEALING against our moral and societal upbringing. $35b Foreign reserve developed wings and disappear into tin air. What then is safe under Jonathan?
