most ikwerre and some ika amongst others have maintained they are not igbo and as long as some igbo keep insisting they are then it appears that some igbo are forcefully trying to get them to acknowledge igbo ethnicity .please note that i am not here to argue about who is wrong or right ,i am just pointing out the fact that this is a controversial issue .

You are only interested in the microscopic few who deny Igbo identity. How about those that have always identified as Igbo from Diobu to Igbanke.
Ndigbo do not lay claim to groups that are not Igbo. Okrika people are not Igbo and there has never been any Igbo claiming them. It is very different in the Ikwerre/Ika classification
CultureRe: Origin Of Igbos And Their Neighbours by abadaba(m): 11:37pm On May 24, 2010
@Ama-diva. Your post is nonsensical. Can you show me where Igbo people have been claiming Okrika. Can you show us documents or any evidence where Igbo people claim you and your people. Have the Okrika people ever invited to join Ohanaeze. Do Igbo people give Igbo awards to Okrika people. Have you ever seen Okrika people at Ahiajoku lectures or Iri ji festivals.
FYI, Ndigbo do not claim non-Igbo people. Though rest of Nigeria see you and your people as Igbo. Hence, stop the madness.

Ibime:
Igbo states are lagging behind in infrastructure - an effect of long and premeditated neglect of the area by the FG. You cannot expect an Igbo state to boast the same kind of Infrastructure as Lagos, PH and Abuja who have received more than their fair share of Federal funding. . . . on any other level, Igbo states are comparable to all other states we have in Naija.
Well said.

You should be ashamed to continue to post here after all the photographs and other samples forumites have posted here. World Cup 2010: Argentina Squad - Diego Milito Makes It Into Maradona’s Final 23-Man Squad
Inter star Diego Milito makes the final 23…

Diego Maradona (Goal.com/Pauly)
According to the Argentinian news agency Telam, Diego Maradona has settled on his final 23-man squad for this summer's FIFA World Cup in South Africa and the biggest surprise came with the inclusion of Inter Milan forward Diego Milito.

Despite Milito’s breathtaking form for Inter this season, leaving the club on the verge of a historic treble, the 30-year-old looked unlikely to make the cut. With Maradona thought to have already decided to take five forwards to South Africa, it was widely thought amongst the Argentinian media that Milto would miss out in favour of Boca Juniors veteran Martin Palermo. However, in typically erratic fashion, Maradona has pulled a U-turn and elected to take the Inter man to South Africa after all.

Elsewhere, there will be relieved looks on the faces of Colon defender Ariel Garce and especially Palermo midfielder Javier Pastore. The 20-year-old has enjoyed an impressive season in Serie A for the Rosanero but is yet to earn a single cap for his country (his one appearance in an Argentina shirt came in the friendly with Catalonia and was not recognised by FIFA).

On-loan Liverpool midfielder Maxi Rodriguez will also breathe a sigh of relief. For much of the year, the Atletico Madrid man looked certain to miss and will feel vindicated in his decision to find more first-team action at Anfield.

The players cut from Maradona’s original list of 30 are Ezequiel Lavezzi (Napoli) Fabricio Coloccini (Newcastle) Jesus Datolo (Olympiakos), Jose Sosa (Estudiantes), Juan Mercier (Argentinos), Sebastian Blanco (Lanus) and Juan Insaurralde (Newell’s).

Of those unlucky seven, Olympiakos winger Jesus Datolo will probably feel most unfortunate to lose his seat on the plane. The former Boca star, on-loan from Napoli, consistently impressed when called upon by Diego, scoring a marvellous goal against Brazil in qualification and grabbing once against Russian in a friendly match in Moscow.

Before this thread turns to something else, you all have to note that Chinenye has not denied his Igbo origin. I know in other threads he has floored those guys with identity crisis. The proposed Aba state is not an entirely Ngwa state but consist of Ndokis, Ohambeles, Asas etc. It is to the advantage of Ndigbo to have additional states including Aba state.

As a consequence, I am out to match him fire for fire as the UNDESIRABLE ELEMENT deserves no peace even in his grave.

This may be pathetic but what is the point of giving it a tribal face. This is not the first time in Africa, as it has happened in Hausa and Yoruba lands in the past.

Richard Mofe-Damijo is non-Igbo but knows that Ika people are Ndigbo. While he was addressing Anioma people last year at their cultural festival, regarded Ika etc as Igbo people. No objection from any one present on that occasion.
