NYSC says dead Corps Member lied about her health status in medical report she submitted during registration » godgobless.com Apr 20, 2019 12:46 AM NYSC says dead Corps Member lied about her health status in medical report she submitted during registration The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Bauchi State has confirmed the death of the 28-year-old corps member, Magdalene Yohanna, who died during the batch A orientation exercise, and also debunked media reports that the scheme deliberately covered up the incident. The Bauchi Coordinator of the NYSC, Afolayan James, who made the confirmation and clarification in a media statement made available to journalists in Bauchi on Thursday, explained that the deceased lied in the medical report she submitted to the scheme during her registration. According to James, “Corps member, Yohanna, reported to camp full of enthusiasm and zeal to serve her fatherland in Bauchi State. Therefore, the corps member did not indicate any health challenge in the registration documents she completed and neither did she complain of Asthma on arrival in the camp. “Furthermore, the medical certificate of fitness presented by the corps member gave her a clean bill of health.” http://news-af.dailyadvent.com/news/detail/9196e067e37d9d705cddd8e4e8280c57?features=2097323&uid=20824584fcbb6f4537f9771f08ee3ae6bc6f8822&like_count=0&newsapp=1&client=mini&share=1&sharesource=copy_link&shareuid=04a090339fa664baf2ef790b554c91ab8aa2c47d

Breaking: Shuaibu Ibrahim Replaces Kazaure As NYSC DG Brigadier-General Shuaibu Ibrahim has replaced Maj. General Suleiman Kazaure as the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). Naija News understands that Ibrahim is the Registrar of the Nigeria Army University(NAU), Biu, Borno State, North-Eastern Nigeria. A senior official within the scheme says an official announcement is expected to follow soon, a report by a Nigerian website, Aledeh.com, disclosed on Friday night. Meanwhile, this online news platform reports that the development is coming at the time Kazaure clocked three years in office as NYSC DG having arrived the National Directorate Headquarters of the scheme in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, on Monday, April 18, 2016. Naija News understands that Kazaure is the 17th Chief Executive Officer of the NYSC SCheme. On the other hand, Ibrahim’s appointment automatically makes him the 18th Chief Executive Officer of the NYSC SCheme. During Kazaure’s tenure, he expanded the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme through the establishment of more skill centres and greater stakeholders’ involvement for skill and material support. Kazaure is a well-learned scientist with enviable academic credentials while Ibrahim, on the other hand, is a historian. In August 2018, Ibrahim had told CEO Africaduring an interview: “When you take over an office, you need to find out why your predecessor succeeded or failed.” Ibrahim had added: “Before I take decisions, I make reference to the past, build into what is happening now and then into the future. Once you have this at the back of your mind, discover that you will always succeed.” Meanwhile, the shakeup in the scheme is coming at the time President Muhammadu Buhari signed the new national minimum bill into law, a situation which will see Nigerian workers receive N30,000 monthly as against the current N18,000. Social Media posts monitored by this reporter shows that Corp members across the country have expressed optimism of getting an increased allowance from the current N19,800 monthly allowance following the signing of the bill by the President. http://news-af.dailyadvent.com/news/detail/0635c0dba5603750dda1054bf5dcfb8e?features=2097323&uid=20824584fcbb6f4537f9771f08ee3ae6bc6f8822&like_count=0&newsapp=1&client=mini&share=1&sharesource=copy_link&shareuid=04a090339fa664baf2ef790b554c91ab8aa2c47d
