I have struggled with sex addiction for the past 10 years with out permanent success especially with regards to visiting and sleeping with prostitutes and keeping my mind off sex. Presently I cant seem to keep my mind of sex and focus on my life and career.
I have a good Job and a beautiful damsel whom i have promised marriage and I am afraid I might loose any if not both of this if I don't stop, think and act NOW.
Since is a habit I learnt over time, how do I unlearn this habit permanently.
Please has anyone been able to get over sex addiction successfully.
My recent relapse after 10 months of celibacy threw me off balance and presently I have lost touch with God, friends and family because of this demeaning lifestyle.
Today after 2 weeks of relapse and wallowing in self pity, I have decided to restart all over again with strong determination to take into consideration the lesson learnt from my last relapse as I plan to adopt a better approach to ensure I conquer this habit.
I have spoken with one of spiritual director who understands sex addiction above my expectations and he is very supportive.
I have also opened up to my younger Cousin brother who also understands what it feels to suffer addiction.
I also confessed to my lady about my relapse and strong determination to quit and she is helpful and supportive but with the condition that she may not cope if I should suffer another relapse.
My addiction and its resultant consequences have made close family and friends loose their respect and confidence in me.
Above all, i feel so separated by God who have done so much for me .
I want to pick my self up and fight because of
1.God 2.Myself 3. Family 4. My girl friend
At this point I need all the help I can get to snatch out my life out of satanic bait to ruin me forever
Any professional here can please save a frustrated brother. I have not give up.
In other not to bore u all with long talks I will be brief.
I left secondary sch in 2016 and ever since I've been trying my luck to get in pharmacy school.

I don't consider myself as a brilliant student but I am above average.
Although I am currently studying S.L.T but i am not and never satisfied with the course.. infact I don't even pay attention in class and I hardly attend class all I think of is pharmacy
it's affecting my life.. now I don't even Know how to proceed with my life.
Mods pls I need your help
You don’t need to be depressed, I also spent 5 years at home before gaining admission to study engineering but today most of my friends that gained admission before me are still looking for job, in-fact I got employed during my NYSC.
My advice, try to learn something during your waiting period because this is the only regret I have now, I should have learnt a trade, business or vocational trade to equip myself, however, I thank God for what He has done for me so far.
Just try to engage yourself with IT skills or business skill, trust me you won’t regret it.
Gisters: Due to global warming, students of the Federal University of Agriculture (FUNAAB) have embarked on urban forestation programme with a view to reducing the challenges to the barest minimum.
As a way of tackling the bedeviling challenges and rejuvenating the dwindling economic system, students of the department of Forestry and Wildlife, in their large number took to the streets of Abeokuta, the State capital to plant seedlings and trees in different houses while sensitising the people on the importance of planting trees.
Nice initiative Trees planted included; Masquerade trees, Malina, Tick trees, among others.
The students had earlier embarked on rural forestry where countless trees were planted in different rural communities.
The Acting Head of Department, Dr Oladapo Odukoya who spoke with journalists during the exercise maintained that the issue of global warming had gotten the attention of the institution, hence the need for the exercise.
Oladapo regretted that global warming had a damaging effect on the country’s economy, adding that the institution could no longer fold arms and allowed the situation to worsen.
His words “Presently, there is a problem of global warming. The various problems global warming is causing, include flooding; when a little rain falls everywhere becomes flooded, those are parts of the problems. Also the high level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere which has resulted in high heat. The trees will provide shade against sun in the afternoon.”
Odukoya who supervised the exercise boasted that the trees planted also had high economic values, assuring that people could eat or sell the fruits gotten from the fruit trees planted and that they could as well harvest the leaves for many other purposes.
He also stressed that “It is more of urban forestry. It’s about sensitising the people about the importance of planting trees in their homes, having gardens in front of the house for various purposes. In time past, you will hardly see a house without trees in front of it but the practice is no more”.
The Representative of the the students, Michael Oluwadamilola said “We have observed that global warming is serious, the more you cut the plants the more you kill mankind and also you discover that this day heat gets so intense that we need trees around us to give us fresh air.
MeeztaSoft: I moved into this nice apartment a year ago while the business I was doing was booming. Things were moving very fine and I am single because I have not had time for ladies for years now.
The landlord and his family have their own separate building inside the same compound and the landlord is someone who works with an offshore company so he is usually away for quite a while.
The kids are in secondary school so most times the landlords wife is usually alone and runs a mini supermarket in front of the compound. Being that my business has really gone very slow and money isnt flowing like before, I hardly go out and just try to do some online freelance jobs while am still hoping on starting another business. Because of this the landlords wife have been really pressuring me for sex and I keep finding excuses to avoid it. My rent is due very soon and she knows am sort of broke because I owe some credit in her shop and she has secretly started telling me that she will make sure I am removed from the house if I don't agree to her request.
This is very sad because I love the house and the husband is a very nice man. Their kids are also very fund of me like I am their elder brother. Even if I have to move out I don't even have the money right now and the problem is that it was the lady who gave me the house being that her husband wasn't around then and he comes from time to time.
I am so very confused that I had to come here to see if I could get any good advice from good people here.
Please, my brother, don't do it, it is better if you are thrown out than to commit a Terrible sin.
nkemma54: As stated on the topic, I use an LG G3 D855 (16GB/2GB). Very proud of my 2014 phone. Running Android 7.1.1 Resurrection Remix (lineage os) perfectly. But my problem is I just can't get 4G on my phone. Before anyone rants if my phone is supported, yes it is. The LG G3 D855 is a 4G supported phone, and supports glo 4G band 28. But for some reason, which has nothing to do with my OS, I can't get the 4G to show up. I'm a techy myself, but this is quite beyond me. I waited for hours to get my 4G sim from glo, don't want my time spent in their office to be a waste. Location is Ikorodu. The photo below gives proof my phone locks on to the band 28, but as you'll see in the top right, no network signal when locking the phone to 4G on Glo.
Please I am having the same issue, I used to have LTE on phone at my resident but since I changed my phone I can't camp on LTE again except when on third Maryland bridge.
Please what is the name of the app that shows the band?

nyben4eva: Hello nairalanders,a very good friend of mine came to me a couple of days ago with a detailed epistle of the trauma he faces with his job and how he's opted to quit, but insists on my advice before he hands in his resignation letter:
"I got my job six months after my NYSC and March 2015 was my eight years of working for the company. As an engineer, the job isn't my kind of job as it exposes me to lots of dangers and keeps me away from my family for at least six months every year. My salary is more than half a million per month, yet I don't find joy doing what I'm been paid to do.
Thinking of my kids each time I leave home for work and how they cry to go with me is such a feeling that makes me wish I never had the job in the first place and at the same time, the thought of how they would fare if I quit without laying a proper foundation for their future makes me reconsider my decision and keep telling myself that I have to keep on going.
Though,I have most of the necessary things to make life a bit easier, but I'm always sad whenever is time to go to work.My wife on the other hand, tries to convince me before I'll finally make up my mind.It has been like this right from the onset, yet things aren't changing. The most annoying aspect is that of my employers,an American company. They drain every bit of my energy and always remind me of how jobs are very scarce in Nigeria.
Right now,I have a business that could be fetching me at least two hundred thousand naira per month with lots of rooms for expansion and I feel so delighted that I'm going to become my own boss. The happiness I derive from trying to do my own business is so boundless, but my problem is this: I don't want to go back to the same job once I quit".
Should I ask him to quit or continue with the job?Is happiness more important than pay?I need very intelligent answers, please.
My candid advice is that starting a business in Nigeria is not an easy journey, he should just have a plan as where he wants to be in the next few months/years.
He can continue to work let's say for d next 6 months or for the next 1 year, save alot and plan for what he wants to use the money for, it is very true that happiness is very important than the job but at d same time the pay he is earning is very good, it is not advisable to resign due to frustration, but resign on d basis that you have a concrete plan for yourself and your family.

He said the country will use the digital switch-over as an opportunity to diversify the provision of channels and content. The president was speaking at the 35th anniversary of the Silverbird media and entertainment company in Lagos

Sissie: What does being a better Muslim mean to you?
Many times we think praying Five daily salat, wearing the hijab, keeping the beard etc is the basis of being a good Muslim, while I do not disagree to it the question is, is that all? Is that were many of us end it? Isn't it wider than this. Afteral we all agree Islam is a way of life, is your life itself dawah?
What does being a good Muslim mean to you?
Salam alaykum
Being a good muslim: the first step is to be very conscious of your salah (5 daily prayers) because the prophet (saw) said and I quote " the first thing that a servant would be asked about on the day of judgment is as-salat and if it is good every other deeds would be regarded good as well, and if it is bad all other good deeds wouldn't be regarded.
2ndly : A Muslim should be a mercy to all Allah's creatures, because the prophet (saw) said n I quote: I have not being raised as a prophet except to come and perfect good conduct (moral/generosity/kindness etc)
And remember Allah says in the glorious Quran that Our salat is meant to take us away from bad deeds/vises and every sort of evil and to enjoined us to always do good.
Also Allah affirmed it in the glorious Quran in so many verses that " Those who believe and do righteous deed" for them there is a great reward.
