The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, on Monday urged the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, to write a letter to Boko Haram to stop their attacks just as he did to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Oritsejafor made the call in Abuja at a 2-day roundtable with Senior Special Assistants on Religious Affairs from the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

“His Eminence said he wrote a letter to ISIS, I have to truly congratulate you for that because that was a very good move.

‘‘I didn’t know about it until today and I am so glad it happened. But I want to appeal that you also write to Boko Haram because Boko Haram is worst than ISIS.

‘‘They have killed more people than ISIS, they have caused more atrocities than ISIS; they need to be written to as well, it is very important it will help.

“I have made an appeal several times that there are some of our leaders who must come together, religious, political and traditional. They must come and discuss.’’

He also enjoined religious clerics, particularly those in the ‘good book’ of the militant sect to reach out to the leadership of the sect so that the real Islam could be presented to them instead of allowing them to continue to be misrepresenting Islam.

According to him, the militant sect will not listen to him, he will have joined the clerics in preaching peace to members of the terror group and the need to practice real Islam.

WARRI — FORMER Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar,Thursday in Asaba, Delta State, said he was the most qualified to carry the All progressives Congress, APC, banner in the 2015 presidential election.

Atiku was addressing Delta State delegates ahead of the party’s primaries to decide the APC candidate in the election.

He said: “In Delta State, I have my friend, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor. I could have stayed in my home and asked him to talk to you on my behalf, but I believe in democracy and will not take Delta for granted.”

So I decided to come myself. We are about five or six aspirants gunning for the APC presidential ticket. None among the others has distinguished practical political experience than me. I was eight years Vice President after serving as a top federal civil servant longer than any of them.

“I am prepared to lead the change you want. So when you go to Abuja for the APC presidential primary, you will vote Atiku and together we will overrule the Peoples Democratic Party and bring in prosperity in 2015”, Atiku appealed to the Delta delegates.

Unity Bank Plc has released the names of 111 customers with bad loans that have failed to make good their obligations to the bank.

This followed the expiry of a two-week grace period given by the bank from October 8 to October 22, to such customers, the bank said in a statement.

“This grace period and the warning of the consequences of not responding to the bank’s call within the period was widely publicised using the mass media,” it said.

According to the bank, the immediate fallout of publishing the names of the customers includes an industry-blacklisting of such debtors from further banking transactions until they attend to the bad debts.

It however added that several customers heeded the call and had come forward to either make good their obligations or negotiate a re-structuring of the loans.

The full list of debtors, which was published on the bank’s website, comprise Bulet International Nig. Limited, Total Steel Limited, Ekiti Kete Mass Transit Co Limited, First Oil Limited, A.B. Radda Petroleum, Chester Investment Limited, Wamus Oil and Gas, Origin Automibile Works Limited, Afriventures Holdings Limited, POD of Diamond Limited and Vince Oil Limited.
