This is open letter to our government for them to know what federal Ministry workers are passing through. The Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Education Abuja, Nigeria Newly Employed Staff Federal Ministry of Education Abuja, Nigeria 29th Aug., 2018 Dear Sir, THE BITTER JUICE ON OUR TABLE We hereby write to let you know our predicaments believing that you are not aware of what has been going on and also believing that you will proffer some favourable solutions. We were recruited in 2016 by the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) and were favoured to be shortlisted. We were given appointment in 2017 by FCSC and some of us were posted to Federal Ministry of Education (FME) while some of our colleagues were posted to other ministries respectively. We strongly believed the same LUCK that scaled us through during the highly competitive selection process of recruitment was the one that brought us to Federal Ministry of Education to impart knowledge and shine our lights herein. We happily assumed duty here (in FME) as Education officers and Technical instructors and were warmly accepted from September 2017 onward depending on subsequent postings as determined by FCSC. We are very grateful and excited when the ministry granted us the opportunity to serve. We promise to uphold the honour and glory of Federal Ministry of Education and work in line with the norms and values of the ministry to achieve the set targets as signed in our assumption of duty letters. However sir, it is good to let you know our pain and agony than to die in silence as our pleasant acceptance which should have ordinarily been juicy is turning to bitterness. Below are some of the things bothering us and we wish to let you know thus: 1.that it has been eleven (11) months now from the date (Sept., 2017) we assumed duty at your ministry but we have not been paid any of our statutory. 2. that our 1st 28 days transportation and accommodation allowances which would have sustained us to settle and patiently wait for the monthly salary has not been paid up till date. 3. that we learnt our payment can only be done when we are captured on the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) but we have not been captured till date. 4. that our colleagues whom we were employed together (by FCSC ) have been enjoying the fruits of their labour from the date they assumed duty in their respective ministries EXCEPT for those of us in Federal Ministry of Education. 5. that begging for money to transport and feed ourselves in the course of discharging our duties has robbed our respect and integrity as Federal Ministry of Education Staff and we are psychologically and emotionally demoralized. This will affect the effectiveness and efficiency of our performances in class as education officers. 6. that we endured to teach at our various places of primary assignment (PPA) even when we were not paid for several months but may not be motivated to suffer the same way by next term come September. 7. that we are so much traumatized by the financial challenges facing us at present and would like you to find a lasting solution sir. 8. that we should be captured on IPPIS and be paid our statutory in full like some of our colleagues in other ministries before the next academic session (2018/2019) begins please. |

My point is that in 2016 I filled no that I didn't have anybody in US, but now I have someone within 2 and half year. Hope this won't affect me or I should go ahead with my conference format I used in 2016? Point of enlightenment from everyone.... Thanks |
