Dunno abt edo but ekiti state standard of living is low but very dry if you are not posted to ado and ikere ekiti. nah boredom go kill you. i've been to ikole, emure, ise, aramoko etc very boring. trust me but if you posted there be ensured that you wont be spending 5k out of 19500 cos they would practically be feeding you if you are lucky. Ekiti people(including my mom) are the most hospitable in Nigeria

ogun, ogun and i repeat ogun. ogun is div into four egba, yewa, ijebu, and remo.
ijebu: nice, standard of living is moderate but electricity not that good.
yewa: nicest place, it near border so things are super cheap esp in ilaro and owode, moreover sango,ifo and ewekoro(industrialized area) are all in yewa.
remo: shagamu is only better place. trust me. remo is boring but her standard of living is low too.
egba: most exciting but avoid being posted to institution area like camp, osiele and adigbe.

I love the "oyo and osun" debate. I schooled in Osun (OAU) and lived in Ibadan briefly. Here's my input, not much difference BTW dem, however, if u choose oyo and get Ibadan, it wld be a nice experience but if u don't get Ibadan, you go hear am. Osun Is cheaper n better electricity generally but not much post-nysc opportunities.
General advise: don't get ur hopes too high about a particular state or nysc itself, think of relevance to your plans (agriculture or professional exams or job hunting) in choosing a state. No state in Nigeria has Anytin perfect to offer. Work with your own plan.

I disagree with this. Yes Osun has villages, every state does. But the villages in Oyo state are not as good as some in Osun. The power supply and water is nothing to write home about. Even ifon Erin has better power supply.

you staying ard oluyole estate/extension with little or no power/water supply doestn't me that every area in ibadan and environs are like that. i don't like the generalization

Hello guys, I see we are having a good day reading about Osun and Oyo state. Well, I havent lived in any of those places and its not my State of choice, so I don't have much to say abou that.

My question is about the white background passport photograph to be used during registration, I guess its going to be scanned, if it is, can I use a simliar passport that I have? Soft copy, its in JPEG format.

that means you've not been to oyo, ogbomosho and saki. there electricity is mad (you can compare it with alabata in abeokuta if you know the place). most student in oyo town don't use stove. moreover if you stay around eleyele, sango you won't be saying ibadan electricity sucks

You're actually the first person I'm hearing from that osun is bubbling, I've asked a lot of people both residents and corpses and they said osun state is dry,cheap yes

you are talking abt olorunsogo power station abi, that place has been recommisioned and we've(as a resident) as far back as 2014

i believe osun has villages too and not every1 would be posted to iwo, osogbo, ede, ife and ilesha. example of villages in osun are gbongan, ikirun, ile ogbo, ijebujesha, okuku, even dem ipetu ijesha, modakeke.
nb: i've been to almost everywhere in osun and i can say categorically that industry wise oyo is far better osun while ogun is better than oyo

When they say OYO, It doesn't mean Oyo town alone nauw, besides was Osun state not the major underdeveloped zone of OYO that was carved out as a new state in Osun?

Though I may not have stayed much in the West but the Osun itself, After OSHOGBO as per Capital City, ILE IFE because of OAU and Oduduwa connection and ESA OKE may be because of OSCOTECH, what is there in Osun too? Lagos itself still have villages that harbours typical street and the down trodden lifestyle let alone any other state in Nigeria.

Well, this is the little experience of mine while seeking admission around Naija in the days of old

even oyo town is better than osogbo(devt wise and standard of living). apart from ife no town in osun fit compare to saki and ogbomosho talkless of ibadan.

Good to you all, all protocols dully observed. the countdown is real. it remains just 3 DAYS for registration to begin. fellow citizen i believe by now, you would picked your 3 preffered states already in your mind, if not, start thinking abt them so as to avoid story that touch. also, by now you should know the best cafes(atleast 3) that is nearer to you so as to ensure smooth registration. also i would implore you to fill nysc reg template that is being circulated online so that you would have diff info eg biometrics, sizes, etc. lastly, for peeps that had difficulty with fingerprinting scanner during the last election and sim reg exercise, start cleaning ur hands with methylated spirit. march a gbe wa o. my brother i have been criously praying against stuffs like this, its really pathetic to see ur pals going for service and u just watch and wait for november. Sha everything works together for good.
