The All Progressive Grand Alliance(APGA) has lost one of its own Hon. Tochukwu Francis Mmegbuaneze

Before his death early this morning, he was representing the good people of Idemili North Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly.

He participated in the governorship primaries on Tuesday at the women development center Awka in which the incumbent governor, Chief Willie Obiano emerged the party's flag bearer.

The founder of Ebubechukwu Uzo Foundation, High Chief Aloysius Ikegwuonu, a.k.a Bishop on Monday, paid a surprise visit to victims of church shooting which threw the entire nation into mourning on the 6th of August 2017 at St. Phillip's catholic church, Ofufe-Amakwa Ozubulu, Anambra state.

Preliminary reports released by the Anambra state government stated that the attack was an aftermath of a feud between "two brothers" while multiple reports claimed the gunmen were after the benefactor of the church, Chief Aloysius Ikegwuonu.

A Special Broadcast by the Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano on the St Phillips Catholic Church Killings at Ozubulu on August 7, 2017.

Good morning fellow citizens

Ndi Anambra ekenem unu

With a sorrowful heart, I stand before you today to brief you on the tragic killing of 12 people at St Philips Catholic Church, Amakwa, Ozubulu yesterday.

First, I want to assure you all that what happened in Ozubulu yesterday was a tragic dimension of a long battle between two business partners who are from the same town. I have been fully informed that this dangerous conflict has been going on for a while in the country where they both live outside Nigeria before they decided to bring the conflict home. But let me assure you that Anambra is too hot for them to operate here, going forward.

This explanation, I believe, has erased the fears that the incident may have been caused by either some terrorist organizations or some members of some groups of agitators in the country.

Brothers and sisters, what happened in Ozubulu was neither a terror attack as we know it, nor a violent action by some agitators. We are dealing with a dangerous GANG WAR that has spilled over to Anambra State from another African country. But this is the last time it will happen under my watch!

Fellow citizens, I want to assure you that we are on top of this situation. We are completely in charge here. The people directly and remotely involved in this crime are known to the law enforcement agencies. But no suspect, no matter how highly placed, is above the law. So, we have taken bold steps to bring them to book and restore the peace and tranquility that Anambra State has enjoyed since the past three years.

Sincerely, there is no cause for fear or alarm here. Anambra state is safe. Our churches and places of worship are safe. So, our people should not be discouraged from going to church to serve their God because what happened in Amakwa, Ozubulu is an isolated case. It will not happen again! Ndi Anambra should continue to sleep with both eyes closed because we are staying awake for them. In the words of Wendell Philips, the American abolitionist and liberal activist, “the price of liberty is eternal vigilance.” We have chosen to stay awake that Anambra may find sleep! I repeat, never again will this type of bloodshed happen in Anambra State under me!

Ndi Anambra, in all our 25-year history, never has a single act of senseless violence consumed so many lives. I strongly condemn this wanton killing of our fellow citizens who left their loved ones in the early hours of Sunday morning to worship their God. I condemn the senseless violation of sacred places of worship by people to whom neither man nor God is worthy of respect or honour. I condemn these people who did not think twice before placing such a heavy burden on our humanity!

All the shadowy characters behind this crime shall account for it. This is the first and the last of this appalling crime!

Fellow citizens, I call on you today, to join hands with me to rid our society of all vestiges of crime and criminality. Nothing else can stand in the way of accelerated development as crime does. We are familiar with this fact in Anambra State. That is why we have fought tooth and nail to usher in the long period of peace we have enjoyed in Anambra State.

To our numerous friends and partners, I want to assure you that Anambra is still Nigeria’s safest state. Indeed, the Ozubulu killings have only strengthened our commitment to create a safer, business-friendly and prosperous state. We remain focused on our Vision and Mission to this great state. No amount of threats or wholesale destruction can shake our commitment to these ideals.

Ndi Anambra, I have declared today a Day of Mourning in honour of our brothers and sisters that were slain yesterday. We shall observe a minute of silence in their honour at 12 noon today and special prayers shall be offered for them in churches and prayer houses across Nigeria and in the Diaspora. We have also opened a Condolence Register for them in the Government House.

Finally, for the 18 survivors of this carnage who are nursing different injuries in the hospital, my administration shall pick up all their medical bills. I have visited them at the hospital to ascertain their recovery rate. I have also dispatched 50 additional medical doctors to the hospital to ensure that they have access to the best medical care possible. Indeed, all hands must be on deck to save more lives.

At this juncture, I want to thank the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari who called me last night from London to commiserate with Ndi Anambra on this tragic incident. I must also thank the Acting President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osinbajo who also called last night to condole with us. My gratitude goes to everyone who has called my Team and I to say a soothing word since this incident happened. Your calls have re-affirmed my belief that we are one people under God! It has strengthened my faith in the unity of this country.

Anambra State has survived incredible odds in our modest history. This too shall pass!

Gunmen numbering about 5 invaded St Philips Catholic Church, Amakwa Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area, Anambra state and killed over 50 worshippers.

According to an eyewitness, the gunmen invaded the church around 7:30 am today, Sunday, August 6th, 2017

The death toll is on the increase as the injured and the dead bodies have been taken to Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi.

All the the doctors and pharmacists attending mass in the hospital have retired to the theatre and casualty units for surgeries and treatment.

Nigerian Community in Indonesia was thrown into mourning on Thursday, August 3rd 2017 when the lifeless body of a man simply identified as Onyebuchi was found in his apartment few days after his death.

According to Chukwuma who spoke to cfrmagazine.com on Thursday morning, Onyebuchi who hails from Uke in Idemili North L.G.A, Anambra state, was last seen on Sunday, July 30th.

"We saw Buchi few days ago. We were together with his other friends who came from neighbouring town before we all retired to our different apartments.

"After some days he didn't show up as usual but we didn't care much because he used to visit his friends who live nearby. Buchi was living with my guy before he got that apartment. It hasn't been long he parked into that place.

"So, yesterday morning(3rd August) we called him but he wasn't picking up. We called one of his friends he usually stays with but he said he hasn't seen him either.

"We became worried and decided to visit his apartment to know what exactly happened. When we got there, his door was locked and there was this unpleasant smell oozing out from the direction of his room. We quickly called the police.

"When the police arrived, they forced the door open and we saw the already decaying body of my guy with the air-condition still on.

"After examining the place, the police took his corpse away. They have launched an investigation to determine what led to his death," Chukwuma narrates.

Tragedy struck today in Onitsha, the commercial city of Anambra state when a pregnant woman, two children and a lady were sent to their early grave. The unfortunate incident occurred along Onitsha-Owerri road, by AP filling station, near Dangote Cement Depot.

According to an eye witness who recorded the video, some policemen attached to Dangote cement depot left their place of duty, came to the express way and started extorting money from motorists.

They eventually stopped a tricycle driver who suddenly applied brake that led to the oncoming truck smashing the 'Keke' and killing four people that were about crossing to the other lane of the road.

The policemen immediately ran away from the scene but angry mob took laws into their hands and burnt some part of the depot where they ran into.

On July 22nd, the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 and a salary for life to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.

The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one. According to Dr Chukwuma during the presentation of the car, he recalled on how Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe all the way from Kano blocked him at the front of his house early in the morning and told him he has a message for him.

Mr Osakwe went on to narrate a dream he had about him, how he saw in the said dream his vehicle manufacturing company known as CAP PLC.

Chief Chukwuma said, "He told me that CAP means Chukwuma Automobile Productions. Immediately he said that I laughed him to scorn and left him immediately.

"After some years when I established the first motorcycle assembly plant, he came back again to remind me of that dream again and told me that I will still manufacture vehicles.

"Of a truth it was after I had established my vehicle manufacturing plant that I realized that his prophecy was real.

"This week I signed an MOU with TAXI PLUS all the way from MALI to supply about 400 vehicles to Mali and I then recalled that Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe prophesied as far back as 1979 that I will be the first indigenous vehicle manufacturing company to sell cars to other African countries. I shed tears of joy and said this can only be the hand of God. That is why I have invited him to let him know that his prophecy has been fulfilled. I have decided to give him a Brand new IVM G5 SUV and pay him a monthly salary for life. I want to encourage him to keep serving His God."

The presentation of the vehicle was witnessed by the members of Osakwe's family, friends and relatives. The presentation was done by Chief Gabriel Chukwuma, (Gabros), immediate elder brother to Dr Innocent Chukwuma who equally was a witness in 1979 when the prophecy was given.

In his vote of thanks, Mr Osakwe expressed gratitude to Dr Chukwuma and further told him that more great things will still happen to him and IVM. He prayed for Dr Chukwuma and told him that the Grace of God that has brought him this far will continue to see him through till IVM becomes a dominant force in Africa.

A woman was reportedly paraded and banished for allegedly killing four of her family members including her husband over land issues.

According to a Facebook user who shared the story, the incident happened in Nsude, Udi Local Government Area of Enugu state. The woman was said to have poisoned them because she's the 3rd wife of the man and wanted her children to inherit all the husband's property. How she was caught was not stated by the poster.

The body of late Miss Chikaodili Mbakwe, a member of National Youths Service Corps who died recently in Zamfara state was laid to rest today, Tuesday, July 11th.

She was buried in his father's compound at Oraifite in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State amid tears by family members,

Chikaodili Died on June 20th at Federal Medical Center, Gusua, Zamfara State after an undisclosed illnes.

Report just reaching cfrmagazine.com says robbers numbering about 4, today, July 10 robbed a Total filling station located at Upper Iweka, New Market road Onitsha Anambra state and shot dead their manager.

An unconfirmed report says some of the fuel attendants were hit by bullets.

The lifeless body of the manager was still lying there as at the time of filling this report.
