Its quiet unfortunate that all the tiers of government we have in this country are being man by set of irresponsible, unconscious political bigotry. If the government in ogun state is same with that of Lagos state and they can come together and find a lasting solution to the bad state of the road linking ikorodu to Sagamu then what really is the true essence of the regional government they are clamouring for.The cities in question also lack stable electricity supply.I think we shld begin to question ourselves wether we are truly independent or not. |

Jejelaye01: So am adjusting to life over here in regina and I can assure you that it's a wonderful city, though small. But it's a beautiful city where everything works. For those coming to regina please make sure u resume early to attend orientation (this will help you meet people and please ask questions about anything and everything). Once you arrive, make sure you get your student id and get your u pass activated (makes you have access to free bus to anywhere in regina), also make sure u get your SIN in downtown incase you were not given at your point of entry. You will also have to adjust your resume to regina standard (to apply for jobs and please accept anything that comes your way, you can always switch jobs later). Its important you get a sim here and it's comes with a phone option from iphones to Samsung (you will only be subscribed to a monthly plan). Please load your nigeria line with lot of credit as your folks can still reach you through it till you get settled. Also get your bank account opened and ask question about the credit facilities (awuf dey run belle). Its important you get a saskatchewan Id too. And also get your health card. Please don't be shy to ask questions oooo. Ask anything you feel you don't understand , don't come here and be forming oooo.... communication is key to your survival here. Also feel free to contact me anytime.. I will respond once am free (the education system here is totally different from ours back home - am adjusting to it and it's time ).
I rejoice with all trv choppers and for those expecting I say congrats in advance.
Regards. As regards jobs that you mentioned you need to be very careful with you SIN number you can not just be taking jobs that are not useful for you in the long run tax will be so much on you and you may not be able to bear the burden.pls make enough enquiries. |

Yomalicious: The cost of one way tickets to Canada for this period is officially scary. IT IS WELL. Then is there any option since applications were unattended till the beginning of summer holidays.I think once the application is approved one should just buy the tickets and forget about it's cheap or costly. |

This issue of misrepresentation is becoming a reoccurring decimal on this thread I think we should be very honest in filling our applications. Also to whosoever that dim it fit to deliberately hide such requested information should be left to face the consequences. This thread is always been derailed by such repeated anomaly and overtime it will not serve the intended purpose.pls I think we should remain focus. To all trv hopefuls good news shall our portion as we enter into the month of August. |

maziude: Bosses, Good Evening from Toronto Enroute Ottawa. My flight got delayed for some reasons. However, I am in Toronto now waiting to board the next flight to my new home Ottawa. Below is my travel experience.
In FLIGHT: I used Air Canada from Beijing. The flight experience was awesome though 12 hours long but enjoyable. 2 main meals and lots of in between. When we were about to Land, the pilot told those connecting locally, need to go through immigration, get their documents including permits etc and claim their baggage before connecting to their various destinations within Canada.
POE EXperience: POE: Toronto Intl Airport. If you are transiting through here, when you land, go straight to the "connection" area(follow the arrow). There are about 6 counters for that. When you get there, it is just the normal questions of where you are coming from and why are you here? After that, you will be asked to go into the main immigration office for documentations. This is where you get your study permit.
STUDY PERMIT PROCESS: Officer: Hello ...Bonjour Me : Hello Officer: Can I have your documents? Me: Gave him my passport, introduction letter from embassy, offer letter. Officer: What are you going to study? Me: Computer sciences Officer: PhD Me: Yes. He went through the offer letter and said Officer: You will be here for 4 years? Me: Yes. Officer: Okay, wait a moment let me print your permit.
Then later, he came back with and said crosscheck your details which I did. Then he said, if you want to work while studying, go to the next counter (Services Canada)for your SIN. After which he said, welcome to Canada and enjoy your studies.
Me: Thank you. So, I went the Services Canada counter for my SIN but M Also, please allow time for connecting because there is a chance you might miss your connecting flight. My layover was 1hr25 minutes yet I missed the connecting flight. There were lots of people waiting too. but when it gets to your turn it is 2-3 minutes. But if you miss your connecting flight, no worries, just locate your airline in T1, which os the local departure area and they will help you with another flight.
Mehn, Canny fine.. I dey wait una sha...
To God be the glory...
It will end in praises.
Mazi... To be frank I love your spirit and you have proven to be an ambassador of this great forum.Even with the fact that you miss your connecting flight you still deem it fit to give onsite and first hand information. Many that are also called guru like you immediately they had one issue as regards there application we have cease to again benefits from their wealth of experience. Thanks once again for finding time to share your experience. |

DereI: I did not qualify for a masters program and that was why I applied for a PGD program.
No, I didn't do an upfront medical. I was expecting a medical mail before I got this.. Sorry for the delay,I think you should look through other ways since your cgpa did not qualify you for a master degree. Also you can really take your time to ruminate on what to do since you didn't do upfront medical its always push one to reapply without proper preparation since one will not want to lose the investments in the medical exam done.pls cheer up |
