Obehi44: Yes not adding your account killed your app as regards to the refusals reasons. Also minding your age which you didn't state, you should have your own money. Hello, I don't think he not adding his statement of account is 'what killed his application. Insufficient fund could be from the side of the sponsor especially if he/she have dependent(s). To the moniker, if re-applying soon, get a Co-sponsor, and age shouldn't be a problem if you can explain any study gap. |

Else, changing to a different DLI means you have to notify CIC. My opinion! |

U need to order your gsms note and also a clearer profile of what u submitted - previous and current degree, ties, etc. Was ur SOP reviewed b4 u submitted? I have come to.learn that the SOP is a very powerful document that can turn d tude for u. It is well. Thanks. I haven't received the final decision letter yet. I'm betting it would be same Purpose of visit, family ties, and financial status. Previous undergraduate degree was in Computer Science. About the SOP, I contacted a few here, though some were busy. |

Hello everyone, I haven't posted here for awhile because I was patiently awaiting the outcome of my application. If a day can get any worse I'd definitely say today August 21.
Having had an unproductive day, I got home with a "donotreply" mail awaiting my return. Logged into MyCIC account, downloaded the PDF file and the subject is re: Validity of biometric information. Going by recent trend, I know the outcome already. As I await the other correspondence letter, these are the documents I submitted:
(This is my second application. First application was June 2018). .. Date of Application: July 17th .. Correspondence letter : August 21st (BVL) .. All CIC documents .. Letter of introduction from NIIT coupled with some certifications. .. Conestoga College - Mobile Solutions Development. Winter 2020 (Co-op) .. Tuition deposit - $1, 500 .. Statement of Purpose .. Dad's statement of account, company credentials, and landed properties. .. Sisters statement of account, company credentials, and landed properties (Co-sponsor) .. My statement of account .. Birth certificate for all family members .. English proficiency certificate (IELTS) .. These are some of the documents I remember submitting. I applied for winter on time, so as to allow more time for document verification, still it wasn't successful. Times as this you just wonder what went wrong.
Before the second correspondence letter comes later today/tomorrow, as many out there reading this I need HELP on my third application. Please. |

Dera12345: ORIGINAL PASSPORT REQUEST!!! (May applicant) Experience is truly the best teacher, and my Canadian Sucess story made me believe the saying “EVERY DISAPPOINTMENT IS A BLESSING”!!! I know very well my story will motivate or strengthen some people never to give up in whatever that interests them, pursue it desperately like your life depends on it!! Yes I mean it. Before I proceed, below is my timeline.
Online Application (2nd Application) Submitted May 9th (10:57pm) Upfront medicals passed on 11th June Correspondence letter (today by 10:12am) Original passport request (today by 10:32am)
This experience is my most difficult experience in life so far, I have always thought I can have anything I want in life but this Canada journey taught me that “Human beings can make any plans they want, but it’s God that decides their Sucess or failure”. I don’t even know where to begin from, but only God, Myself and @frankrobbn1 can tell my tragedy-comedy story. So exactly a year today 20th June 2018, I submitted a paper route application and It was refused within 4weeks based on family ties, purpose of visit , personal assets and financial assets. Meanwhile, I have a Bsc in Biochemistry with overall CGPA 4.15 and last two year CGPA 4.71 , going for 2year diploma, paid tution fee $8,880cad. when I received my refusal letter, I cried that very day like never before and till date my first refusal date 18th July,2018 still remains the worst day of my life, and the agent my parents used was just after money. After crying, knowing how bad i needed to leave this country I woke from my comfort zone and began my personal research, this was how I came across this wonderful forum and started reading up!
Through this wonderful platform I met an angel in human form, a motivator, my soulmate and my support system @frankrobbn1, may God bless you richly for me. Frank took his time to explain the errors in my application starting from advising me to secure a masters admission and that is nearly impossible to convince a VO on why diploma and not masters considering my high Gp, and secondly that my application is as empty as anything, I didn’t even submit my family’s information, no assets declared, no employment evidence and so on.
So I began my admission hunt and the devil started his work. Almost all the schools offering my course/ or related course requires a supervisor , and you know how difficult securing a supervisor can be. Some schools I contacted will tell me pump and play that I must identify a supervisor before applying while some will tell me to apply that they will assign me a supervisor once am admitted! I fell to their tricks and lost my application fee, I also tried contacting supervisors all kept turning me down. I kept sending countless mails to different supervisors in different universities all to no avail, some would always come up late with their negative mails of not having space in their lab while some will totally ignore me. I got feed up and I decided to stop sending mails but to call them on phone at least to get a straight forward response rather than waiting for their response that takes weeks and at the end must be negative. I made it as one of my daily activities to call at least 10 supervisors daily, and I did this for months!!! Even the ones that later accepted to supervise me though without funding just all of a sudden will deny even knowing me after I have submitted my application hoping I have secured a supervisor.
In general, I applied to 6 different universities in a space of 8months and all turned me down. I kept asking myself who did I offend? who is after my progress? Through this same wonderful forum I met a very nice fellow @agronat. Immediately he posted about him securing a masters admission with funding, i pm him to put me through, and that was how I realized the vital points/information missing out in my application and the reasons behind my refusals regardless of my high scores. And today am glad that my finally attempt landed me a full fulled scholarship worth $38,076CAD at BROCK UNIVERSITY ONTARIO , 2 years MSc in Biotechnology. Big thanks to @frankrobbn1 for recommending Brock University to me. I nearly craze that day (April 18th, 2019)!!! NB: the scholarship covers my tution and living expenses with extra left, I was also guaranteed a graduate assistantship position. Isn’t God great? This was when I realized that God was preparing something greater for me.
Fast forward to my visa application, guru @frankrobbn1 finished work.. I personally wrote my SOP and LOE, but when frank was done reviewing it I couldn’t recognize my LOE and SOP .. lol, he reconstructed it and was even using the VO’s terms to address every issue. He sold me well and also left the Change for the Visa officer to keep. I can’t thank you enough.., even after I submitted my visa application he took me to a church where I was given 4 days dry fasting and prayers (something I have never done in my life). I’m not the churchious type but this journey brought me closer to God and will forever remain grateful. I will be traveling to lagos next week to submit my passport and at the same time celebrate this wonderful journey that ended well. Seriously my sleep tonight will be very special after one year of dreaming of CANADA Lol, and to @justwise thanks for making this platform possible.
Below are the list of documents I submitted with my application: Father sponsor.

Even though I know my application is a little bit tight, I still handed it over to God because I have seen better applications refused, or the acceptance quota being reached as rumored on the forum,I said to God that they will bang the door when it’s my time to enter, I prayed against errors which can come from the VO leading to common refusals, lol, I prayed against bad mood on the head of the VO handling my application. Prayer is the Key.
I wish all TRV hopefuls SUCCESS!!! Congrats Dera, I celebrate with you. Appreciation to Mr. Frank for his work on this platform. |

guzenaira: Based on the information provided above,
Your agent messed up the whole application. Although VOs do make errors and atimes some come to abrupt decisions but remember that not just one VO will look at the application and definitely it will still go through final review before decisions are been made.
Now, do you know that I strongly go against using agent. Reason because they mess up applications and whatever the result maybe they will walk away with the huge deposit given to them.
Do you know there’s possibility of the agent putting a minor in your application who you don’t know but may have collected money from the client. Moreover, if it is successful you won’t know because all applications may depend on each other but are treated differently.
Do you know some agents are one this thread, they come and learn them make money out of it.
People will always fall for them, even if they know something like this thread even exist. those are the desperate and non chalant applicants who just believe money can do everything.
If you don’t want to use them again try to stylish ask them of what they submitted for you or you wait for like a year before you submit another application because a lot of things could change in ones life within or after 12months. Let’s be realistic.
Try to put up a convincing application and all will be fine. Thanks for replying my post guzenaira. My first application was submitted 14th June 2018 and refused July 17th 2018. I deliberately waited this long to give it a second attempt. After being refused , I immediately registered for various programs at NIIT, to acquire more certifications. I'm planning towards winter 2020. Since being on Nairaland, I have learnt so much, For instance how to fill the CIC forms properly, writing a SOP, and making the right choices. With the knowledge so far gotten here, I believe I'm on the right track to achieve my aim. Thanks for the reply again. |

JustMellow: How sure are you that the agent didn't do something contrary to the information provided by you. On the other hand, i have seen a gcms notes were the VO was lousy and paid less attention to the applicants refusal concerns in the notes. This is an error on the side of the VO. I think little or nothing can be done especially id the notes contains other sensitive information about you.
BTW do well to screen shot the appropriate page were the VO addressed the main concerns, you can check the last 2-3 pages. Thanks for replying. To the bolded, so it seems. This is the only page having the explained note. Rest pages are generic CIC msgs. |

Hello everyone! Happy may 29th. I just received my GCMS note pertaining to my first application. The reasons for refusal as stated in the IRCC correspondence letter is Purpose of visit, Family ties in Canada and country of residence, Personal assets and financial status. Meanwhile, in the GCMS letter, it was stated I'm accompanying a minor to school, which is not true. Please Ogass FrankRobben, Qudkom, Mellow, Austacus, and all, willing to help a brother on his second attempt, your input would be highly appreciated. Thanks
NB: In my first application, I used the service of an agent who wasn't concerned about the outcome of my application, rather for selfish interest. I didn't submit a mission statement, and the receipt of the tuition I made, was also omitted.

aIIkae: Thank you for your response, Kind sir. I don't have a good cgpa so colleges. Got a physics bsc in 2017 but i want to do an IT pgd. I currently work in an IT position, and have avid interest in IT infrastructure. I have shortlisted a few colleges with 2-year pgd in This field. I've seen some people saying vocational courses are bad for visa application, how accurate is this? Should I stick to my guns or bite the bullet and do a more academic course? And also, I've seen online that co-op courses aid with employment opportunities, but is it a good idea to go out of my way to look for only courses with co-op or will I be okay without it?
Also, the consultant I spoke to suggested that IELTs increase my chances of getting admission and visa. But it seems I don't need it from the school's requirements page. Pls advice. Thank you (Sorry for many questions but it can be confusing) If you are confident IELTs will give you a chance of securing a visa, go for it. It will be an advantage for you at the long run if only you've fulfilled the requirements stipulated by CIC. |

I don't know, was it because it was an advanced diploma course or was it because it was not a public college... I'm kinda confused now... But i will be reapplying soon as i have decided to defer my admission till September and I will be doing it online maybe ti avoid the Nairobi "demons" handling the application... Online or paper route, you can't be certain on the center handling your application. The first step of action you should take is to chose economics, which is related to your BSc. Make your next application simple as possible |
