I had this book threw it away cause it gave me nightmares. And since you're new to the game I wouldn't advice you to start unemployed. It would be too hard. Start first with a big team so that you can understand the tactics and player management. Which club do you support? I'll advice you to start with them to get maximum enjoyment. and choose the highest reputation so that your players will respect you.

What reputation did you choose. If your reputation is 'Sunday league footballer' you'll only be able to get clubs in the conference.

If your reputation is 'international' then you can get championship and lower premier league clubs.
