Politics › Re: Why Buhari Is Likely To Win In 2019 By Yakubu Jimoh by abiolamitodun(m): 3:14pm On Jan 25, 2018 |
Opinionated: By Yakubu Jimoh
This piece is a personal opinion of mine, and my intention is not to praise or criticise one party or another.
Recently, South East leaders visited President Muhammadu Buhari, endorsing him for a second term and promised to deliver the 5 states in their zone to him. APC is currently ruling one of the 5 states in the East. It is clearly known to many people that Anambra and Ebonyi Governor despite being in opposition parties have openly endorsed the President for a 2nd Term. APC will clearly and easily win Anambra, Imo and Ebonyi State by 2019. APC has already shown its strength in the gubernatorial election done there last year, claiming 2nd position in the election. APC is clearly promising them the presidential slot by 2023. Remember, if PDP or any other political party emerges today, the party will surely go for 8 Years. It is clearly known that any party that might want to stand against APC come 2019 will field a candidate from the North. Igbo will not a mistake by not supporting Buhari so as to give them the presidency they have longing for since 1999.
Another clear reason is that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Chief Bisi Akande still support and clearly show they are still in the APC. Some people are claiming Chief Bola Tinubu might go to bring up Alliance for Democracy (AD). Baba Tinubu can’t be so foolish to weaken the party he has been supporting and bringing up since 1999, Jagaban will surely deliver 80% of South West since the Vice President is still coming from their side.
The vote from the Northern bloc will surely give Buhari an upper hand in the upcoming election, The Northerners have one culture and thing they do, which other tribes don’t take serious in Nigeria; when election is a week ahead most of Hausa-Fulanis will go back to the states where they have the voters cards to vote. Tell me, how many Igbo or Yoruba can leave his abode to go his homeland to vote because of election, many don’t. The Northerners will leave their business and farms to decide who will lead this nation for another 4 years, they have been doing it since 1999 and they will still be doing it.
APC should have up to 30% in the Niger Delta region due to Governor Obaseki and other prominent people from the region.
President Buhari has really tried in the agricultural sector and improved it and is working to diversify the nation’s economy and wean it off its reliance on petroleum. He has clearly shown he is a democrat and has integrity in terms of elections. Since he has been sworn in, various elections have been conducted where he didn’t do like other presidents who will impose their party in the election by rigging. I believe it will be difficult for any party to dethrone this present ruling party, the APC.
Don’t be deceived by those social smedia politicians whereby 80% of those voting on social media don’t have voters card, or won’t go out on election day. Meanwhile, those in the North will go out to defend their votes. Our market women, farmers, are not on social media, according to a recent survey. Majority of the voters are not on social media, so don’t be deceived by that.

Politics › Re: Ben Bruce: "Babachir Arrested Because Of Obasanjo’s Letter To Buhari" by abiolamitodun(m): 12:52pm On Jan 25, 2018 |
emma321: Ben Murray Bruce, Senator representing Bayelsa East has reacted to the arrest of former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawalby the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The Senator said the arrest of the former SGF was not unconnected to the statement by former President Olusegun Obasanjo lambasting President Muhammadu Buhari over his incompetence to rule Nigeria.
In a tweet via his social media handle, the lawmaker mocked the current Federal Government over the timing of Lawal’s arrest.
The business mogul mockingly said other former Presidents should write letters so that “all of a sudden we will deal with herdsmen killings and other issues.”
He wrote: “Moments ago, news got out that former SGF, Babachir Lawal has been finally arrested by the EFCC. Many believe the long awaited arrest is a direct result of the letter written to President Buhari by Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday.
“All of a sudden they announce that the committee on restructuring will submit its report tomorrow.
“All of a sudden Babachir Lawal is detained. Maybe other former Presidents should also write letters. Then may be all of a sudden we will deal with herdsmen killings and other issues.”
Recall that Buhari had in October sacked Lawal and replaced him with Boss Mohammed.

naija911: A Coalition of Niger Delta Agitators yesterday listed a number of oil fields and installations as targets for resumed attacks if Federal Government failed to address specific grievances agitating the region.
Following three weeks of consultations and meetings across the Niger Delta region, the group, in resolutions adopted in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, yesterday, also gave Fulani herdsmen one months to the vacate the region or face dire consequences. Signatories to the resolution included, but not limited to John Duku (Niger Delta Watchdogsand Convener, Coalition of Niger Delta Agitators; Ekpo Ekpo (Niger Delta Volunteers), Osarolor Nedam (Niger Delta Warriors) and Simply Benjamin (Bakassi Strike Force).
The resolutions spelt a 90-day ultimatum to the Federal Government (FG) to implement restructuring and resource control, return oil blocs in the region to the Niger Delta people and ensure relocation of the oil & gas companies headquarters to the region. It says, “Otherwise, there would be no one Nigeria.

Politics › Re: '' You're Too Busy To Notice Buhari Achievement '' Lai Mohammed To OBJ by abiolamitodun(m): 9:19pm On Jan 24, 2018 |
gistyinka: The Presidency on Wednesday has reacted to the explosive letter written by former Nigeria President Olusegun Obasanjo, stressing out that Nigeria is doing better under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration than previous governments.
The presidency reacted to the letter claiming that the former president Olusegun Obasanjo is too busy to notice Buhari's achievements. In that explosive letter, OBJ criticized Buhari’s government and urging him not to re-contest in the 2019 general election.
At the briefing State House correspondents at the end of the Federal Executive Council meeting chaired by President Buhari, the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, listed some achievements of the administration, which he said are better than those of past administrations.
He also noted that the former President might have been too busy to take note of the achievements being recorded under Buhari.
While stating that the Buhari’s administration is equal to the task of giving the desired leadership for the nation, he said that the government is determined to end the herdsmen/farmers clashes in the country. But we couldn't confirm if the Presidency has anything to say about the nepotism in Buhari's appointment and the mass poverty in Nigeria under his watch. benben1000: Nothing new, Just another typical SW state. Almost all SW states are bankrupt and cannot pay salary. Their states have zero to no sustainable revenue because 80% of them are civil servants...depend on state to earn a living. These states depend on Niger Delta monthly oil allocation to survive but they will never tell you so; they pretend they are doing well with their propaganda, deceiving you. Go and look at all Nigerian states debt, it's no surprise that SW states are the most indebted. As Asari Dokubo said, cut off oil from SW and open up Ports in SS and SE, yorubaas will be worst than alamajiris; you will see them with plates in the streets begging for food. hmmm...am from the south south too as well...the only problem here is just corrupt Governors under the pretence of literacy |

GodSon34: The ancient kingdom of Judah / Widdah / Owodaiye in Nigeria consisted of three main tribes namely:
1. The Ijebu aka Jebu aka Jebusites 2. The Egba (main city used to be called Ba) 3. The Ketu
Please note that other sub-tribes also formed part of Judah .e.g. the Egbadoes (south of egba)
These tribes were later incorporated into what we know today as Yoruba and occupy Lagos and Ogun states. They are not Yoruba. Slaves were referred to as a Nago-Jebu., Nago-Ba (Egba), etc
N.B. There is a chance that other tribes migrated from Judah. For example there is a link between some Igbo and Ijebu people. mcheew |
