It is just a policy which is understandable, but not a rule. Most of the time depends on who is conducting the recruitment, some stays at extra13% for Niger Delta as is obtainable with monthly grant allocation.

The problem I have with some of you Southerners is you just sit down and assumed things even TammyAnyhbody made that assumptions which is very very wrong.

Those people you see getting slots from the northern senators, members, FCC commissioners and the likes are mostly their close relations or party members and not the average northerners.

Yes, tell them please. Things are not as Southerners thought they were anymore. The competition is terribly stiff even in the north. And all those appointment letters from Senators, Ministers DGs all goes to their relatives and children of their political allies which I believe is the same in the southern part. Only on a very rare occasion can those elites help a complete stranger.

That is about 54 candidates from each state and FCT assuming equal number have been shortlisted.

Graduate Assistant= 103,000 after tax, Assistant Lecturer=115,000 after tax. If her institution pays hazard allowance, she would be earning extra 30,000 on top of her salary. If she's given any responsibility there is an additional 15,000 but this is very unlikely due to her inexperience.

She doesn't need any connection to be promoted to Assistant Lecturer. In fact, her promotion will be effective from the date she earn her MSc and arrears be paid to her in case of any delay from council appointment and promotion committee.
With regards to salary, well, she will live fairly comfortably as academics is not a place to make money. But she has plenty time to attend to other businesses if she is interested.

I don't think so, it's the same requirements as the last NNPC recruitment. BSc (First Class and second class Upper= eligible), BSc (Second Class Lower, HND upper or lower credit must have an MSc to be eligible).

That's not a problem, provided that he was documented and inducted successfully. You can also enter NCDMB with even a pass degree depending on who sent you there.

I remembered last year when someone came to my inbox and told me senate president or so was given 20 slot for NCDMB and he asked people from his state to look for people that applied to the job. I never believed because I felt 20 was too much for just one person.

But with the way people are talking about lobbying taking place, anything is possible.

Hopefully they keep a fair share say 40/50% for merit so we can fight for it.

This is not unexpected, the first step towards the actualisation of the recruitment exercise is to share slots to FCC no matter how balanced the list appear. At my current place of work, they collected 43 slots out of 251 before the issued a certificate of compliance.

Do you think just knowing your interview score is a top secret that must not be known? FYI, technical assistants to GMD handles such things. It is not a big deal if you can get in touch with someone there.

You got it wrong bro, it starts from this stage. Number of candidates for interview from each will depend on the number of slots allocated to that State, usually in a ratio. NNPC adopted 1:7, meaning for every seven candidates interviewed, one must get in.

there is no way it will be 70% or 75% for all state in nigeria or all discipline. so whoever is telling you that is not saying the write thing. federal character must play out. Don't be surprise even 20% will make it to the final stage. even those that didnt write the test can still get the job. so take it easy while you are giving people high blood pressure.

Brother you've said it all even though I would have love you to let the scores mongers have their say. I realized that most of them doesn't know that the course of study plays vital role than anything else in this kind of recruitment.

Absolutely bro, for example during NNPC recruitment, I scored 75% at interview but I was not picked as a Geologist because some candidates from other states scored higher than I did and filled all the quota reserved for the profession but they picked a candidate with 69% from biological sciences with whom I was from the same state.
Alot of calculations and permutations and many of us will be shocked to receive an invite in view of our low scores and vice versa.

I also feel that their might be departmental demands put into considerations too.... Apart from geopolitical criteria their might be selection based on career from the overall performance and that will also bring in low score individuals into the system to balance for the demands...

Definitely bro, they won't recruit all Engineers, all Scientists or all lawyers and social/management scientists, taking note of geographical or national coverage is also a mandatory requirement. They must have to find a criteria for selection that can accommodate all. And it can't be achieved by scores alone.

There can never be a uniform cut off mark for all States, it will simply be the best candidates from each state or geopolitical zone.
There must be a fair representation for all States of the federation in the recruitment exercise.
Adopting a general cut off mark will undoubtedly bring inequality into the system.
Assuming that they would like to interview 1000 candidates, about 60-70% could come from a certain geopolitical zone, while some zones could not have even up to 5% which is against the laid down procedures for recruitments into public service.
Anyway, whatever the case maybe, i trust NCDMB to do their homework well and it could take longer than expected. Some people that scored high will be dropped and some that scored low will make it to the next level. Begin to look beyond scores please.
