The system is programmed to automatically reject unqualified candidates on the basis of age, experience, class of degree and relevant skills. You are eligible once you meet the basic requirements, nobody reviewed anything.

You people should stop making it look like they have shortlisted. Eligibility has no guarantee that you will write the test. I have seen an application number of up to 50k, meaning that alot have applied.

Please is it all eh candidates that were asked to update their States of residence or only the shortlisted?

Hi guys I'm impatiently waiting for aptitude tests and interview. As I'm here I'm ready to start work tomorrow lol.

Anyways with regards the number of spots no one can be certain but it's definitely not 3,000. I follow the ncdmb page on Twitter and they are very present there. They've tweeted a lot about job creation sometimes they say 3,000 sometimes it's 10,000 but you have to read well to understand that they mean using their agency and the collaborations they have with oil companies, the trainings they do (not graduate trainee), things like the NLNG Train 7 project that will soon commence and other avenues to create those thousands of jobs.

But as for this particular recruitment I heard from a little bird who is connected to the MPR that it's not a high intake (he said maybe 50 but then he didn't specify whether for just GT or EH or both). Another thing you need to factor in is that all of this I speculation. They may hire 50, 100, 150, or 200 nobody knows exactly except the ES and his people but definitely not 3,000. Let's not use the 17storey building and be deceived Ncdmb works hard but as an agency if you go through their info on what they do they don't need staff strength of up to 3,000.

When they did the handover ceremony of the building from the company that constructed it to the ES and co, they tweeted it live and some people asked questions and the ES and the agencies twitter handle also replied. The implication I got is that the whole 17stories will not just be used by NCDMB (wetin dem dey do with the space ni). Some of it will be leased/ rented out as they have to make revenue off it. Things like their 1k seater conference room will also definitely be rented out on a steady. So don't use the building as a benchmark to gauge the number of staff they need. It's not like they have offices across all the 36 states.

Also with regards to recruitment process being through merit and connect I've been seeing here. Just to add my two cents. I believe ncdmb is somewhat credible as an agency and will honour both federal character and give some opportunity for merit to take place but don't be deceived na still Nigeria we dey and connect will DEFINITELY be used. Presidency, MPR, a couple other people directly involved and even the ES will have people that they will use connect to give slots to. The only difference I think is that connect usage might not be very intense and mainstream like other agencies mostly because news of the recruitment is not
1) widespread
2) I don't think ncdmb has dabaru yet to the point of selling slots, major key people will just be told to send their people they want employed.
3) I feel lots of people that don't really know what's up look down on ncdmb especially because it's in Yenagoa and it's not loud like other petroleum parastatals so pray all the connect people don't want to move to Yenagoa as it would reduce the pressure and give more space to people on merit

So I believe that merit will still be honoured at least to a decent degree but don't go in thinking that because it's NCDMB connect will not be used to influence it but still don't despair and pray that you pull through and if you have major connect in the petroleum space, goodluck to you.


Me I'm just itching to get it over with (exam and interview) so I can know my fate and move on to other hustle if this one doesn't favour me.

They would not have advertised if they were to recruit less than 100 people. They would simply seek for a waiver from FCC and share the slots. But fingers crossed

It is not possible for them to recruit up to 3000 people. Their role is just supervisory/ regulatory, not operations like NNPC.

bro I know of someone from Bayelsa that the ES promise to give a slot. I understand what the other guy who was saying about same relatives not getting the job. It could be the person who could help him feel since his sister has gotten the job then another family should get it.

The guy must have lied to you. No any serious chief executive will definitily promise a job to someone, what it can best be described is " he might have accepted his offer to help" maybe out of pressure or something. I wish him well but his eyes may clear after the recruitment exercise.

Permit me to call this a blunt lie!!! There is no any federal or civil service rule that bans even a father and son from working at the same ministry or agency. This is a white fat lie!
It is a common knowledge that connection must work in any recruitment in Nigeria, but that doesn't automatically weeds out merit from the system. Ask NNPC graduate trainees! Majority of them were shocked to have been called.
I am also working at a federal University without knowing even a gateman!
Please don't allow anyone to dispirit your soul! Pray to be shortlisted and do your best in the exam and interview!

The site had up to 145k visitors last I checked. So you can't really predict the number of applicant.
And I noticed here on Nairaland that majority of the applicants are EH.

The figure is still very low, you can't compare this to NNPC, DPR or FIRS recruitment. Remember among the 145k, there is someone that visited more than 100 times like me, the overaged, unmatched courses, those with lower class of degree and those that applied just for application sake etc.

Hi guys,

I just want to say the following:

1. NCDMB is largely on merit. So just calm down, do your preparation for the test and if you pass, you will have a job offer in your hands.
2. NCDMB payment is very good, as their funding comes from multinationals, they take 1-2% of all oil and gas contracts in Nigeria.
3. It is very organised and the Nigerian factor there is not too high.
4. On Pay, this is what I can tell you, 5 years ago, an entry level lawyer (contract staff) earned 250,000 a month.
So I encourage you all, to prep for the test and calm down with the anxiety.


PS-it is also a permanent job as they are moving into their new head quarters and need staff.

I doubt if they have ever conducted an open recruitment before but their training opportunities are very open and transparent.
There is no much publicity to the recruitment exercise as the name of the agency was not explicitly stated in the advert.

Please is it true that they're recruiting less than 100 staff? Let a person not drain his little resources. I trust NDtans.....but money go dey sha

How are we sure NDCMB are the one recruiting..... Noting is certain yet....and if they are this might just be their normal training program....whereas this is a GT and ET program.

They don't advertise their training opportunities. Read the advert very well..........."will develop the successful candidates to a well rounded professionals in 2-3 years". This is an employment into their workforce

PEF, PPPRA, PTDF, NNPC stands a good chance of being scrapped in near future.
But DPR must continue to regulate the oil and gas industry even in case of 100% privatisation. Same as NCDMB, the agency must continue to enforce the involvement of Nigerians and Nigerian companies across the oil and gas industry value chain choose wisely.
