The Federal government of Nigerian have recently come out to state the actual sum of money that have so far been received from public spirited individuals, who have chosen to contribute their own quota towards combating the spread of the deadly corona virus pandemic financially.

According to an online media, this was made available to the public on Friday in Abuja by Mallam Garba Shehu who is the presidential spokesman to President Muhammadu Buhari. The statement said that outside the provision of isolation centres, testing kits, mobile laboratory facilities, by Aliko Dangote, Abdulsamid Rabiu, Guarantee Trust Bank, and others, some individuals and organisations have made some transfers to the five accounts created by the government for collation of monies to be donated by individuals and organisations.

According to him, some of the donations by some kind hearted individuals included N5 (five naira), N10 (ten naira), N14 (fourteen naira), N20(twenty naira), while some cooperate organizations like Dantata Property Development, donated N200 million, Ocean Trust Ltd N100 million and a host of others summing up to about N697, 538,108.00 million.

As Nigerians keep wondering, what about the billions reportedly announced by some cooperate organisations as their contribution to the Federal government?
