matify83:
The best quote I found this year on Nairaland is " Nigeria is a CRIME SCENE"

It is when the import of that quote hits you that you will realize that the "Snatch it, grab it and runaway with it" charge was only to secure access to our common wealth and now that they have gotten to the bag, you can all see the quantum of sleaze they are perpetrating.

We've always known that Dangote was a creation of the northern oligarchs.
He is a front for most politicians to launder our pilfered resources.

I just hope Asiwaju has to balls to carry through with this investigations from which I doubt he would be exonerated.

Another scandal loading soon.

Nigeria is a country of one week, one scandalous news.

Nigeria is an "ongoing crime scene" but who can contend with The Lord? They will eat their own flesh and drink their own blood! After which God's people will be free!

The national debt is inclusive of debt owed by sub national entities. This year alone, Abia state planned to borrow N200b local debt and N200 foreign debt. That makes it N400b debt this year alone. The state has about N200b debt already from previous administration and the projected revenue is less than N150b.

So you see, Buhari and Tinubu are not the only problem. Governors like Alex Otti, Mbah of Enugu etc with outrageous budget deficit plan are part of the problem.

you carefully avoided to mention Lagos state with local and foreign debts in excess of 2.5trillion naira!

Dpharisee:
Reorganise the military like Obasanjo did, redeploy commanders planted by Buhari in certain areas to protect Fulani interests.

Engage foreign mercenaries like Wagner of Russia which doesn't know the difference between Hausas and Igbos or Berom and Fulani but can fish out criminal elements and dispatch them to the world beyond if necessary because of internal saboteurs and compromised officers recruited from the ranks of terrorists into the military as rehabilitation scheme for 'repentant' militants by the last administration.

Consult some retired officers like General Ihejirika on how they dealt with the bandits and Boko Haram that even shocked Buhari to a point he declared that attack on Boko Haram is attack on the North and Elrufai and northern elders threatened to take Ihejirika to ICC for committing 'genocide' (meaning excessive killing of Boko Haram)

Convert the likes of Amotekun to well equipped State Police to be controlled jointly by State and federal govt to reduce misuse by State governors at the onset.

You finish work here! This is the least we expect from The central government! A state police controlled by the state and federal government Police services commission! is the barest minimum! A situation where an igbo man cannot be police commissioner of Kano or Lagos , yet you pack igboland and middle belt with fulani officers cannot be allowed anymore!

Eastern Nigeria, time to create and economic region independent of the comedy happening in Niger same way white south Africa is running am independent African economy in South Africa

The Tinubu governement is fast running out of forex options............The 3 billion dollars they borrowed from Afrexim bank will not last past January! They have virtually no control over remitted forex.............I foresee the government seizing control of domiciliary accounts of depositors, that is the only source of forex still available to the ruling and thieving class........they are bound to do so to prevent a precipitous collapse of the naira! Lebanon and venezuela did the same thing too.........ee don red for the zoo!

Dollar will start crashing, I pity hoarders. Expect N800 to $1

The problem with Tinubu's administration is the same malfeasance that has plagued most of the past administrations in Nigeria.......blatant corruption, blatant tribalism and economic illiteracy...............when Peter Obi was shouting that Nigeria should become productive...APC urchins poopooed his submission but the truth is that he was correct! What did Buhari do to wreck the economy, the sahelian mumu borrowed 50 billion dollars and printed 60 billion naira, encouraged his fellow sahelian slave raiders to cut a path of terror across the productive and agrarian foodbasket of the nation.......even moving their terror to the food producing zones of the south! Today food and petrol prices headline inflation........Tinubu needs to isolate these 2 key components of headline inflation from core inflation figures and tackle them separately.......................fore core inflation instead of wasting 3billioon dollars on defending the naira( a vain task) he should identify serious local manufacturers and find out how government can help them crank up production in the short term!

For headline inflation like food price indices governement has to crack down on fulani banditry in our food zones, same fulani savagery also led to the formation of non state security outfits like ESN..........even if the army has to use mercenaries to achieve that! Increased food production will bring down prices!

To sweep roads with machines would cost thousands a day. A sweeper diesel truck traversing just 10km consumes 5,000 naira in diesel and you haven't talked procurement of maintenance. Better that the money goes into the bellies you of the indigent.

And by the way all streetlights are now solar.

It is not the cost per say in the short term .........it is by no means assured that labor is even cheaper in the long run! Unless you are planning to pay the hapless workers peanuts and then get monkeys for workers.............Diesel machines are quite rugged equipment, especially if you do not run them on unadulterated diesel. I feel a mix will get the job done! MTN says they will use community age grade groups to clear sand and wild vegetation on the onitsha to Enugu expressway in the new year........................That will be a monumental task by any stretch.!! Let us wait and see how effective and efficient the process will be! A motorized sweeper can easily cover 100 km in one direction in a day.........I reckon a sweeper can cover all sides of the Enugu/onitsha express in 1 week! I dont know the kind of cheap labor that can beat that level of efficiency!

There are lots of laborers that you do not need machines and the added cost of fuel. Its amazing that the Works ministry doesnt see the sand sediment as a money making enterprise. A bag of sand is N500 naira. What they sweep and collect from the major roads should be worth tens of thousands a day.

The same goes for waste management. You see the ASWAMA people going round with heavy duty trucks collecting garbage with huge cost of diesel instead of exploiting the abundance of labor on ground. People with handcarts can collect far more waste and enter inner areas than those trucks. All the government has to do is create places to bring waste and pay handcarts per volume collected. They can even pay more for sorted waste to help with selling it to recycling companies or for generating fertilizer. This will empower the poor instead of petrol importers and help the government actually achieve clean and green targets with clean streets and gutters.

There is room for manual labour especially in cleaning the side streets and government establishment................for Highways and major roads,we need to have machines and plants.....Hello we will be in 2024 in a few days......we need to move with the time we are in! Afterall we are burning the same diesel to light up streetlights! Our towns look way too shabby to attract local investors talk less of serious international investors!
