hafeeanubasy: Igbos and their perenial fear of the NORTH.....Any small thing,NORTH THIS,NORTH THAT And you think yorubas trust hausa fulani too (Not the North)?..you are amnestic of what Tinubu eyes see for buhar and his cabal hands?
I hope your friend in YOBE trust the tribe that killed TAFAWA BALEWA AND AHMADU BELLO more?
which tribe trust each order in Nigeria, mumu!
Yorubas and gaslighting sef...Igbos fear the north and we fought the north, west, and minorities with one hand tied behind our back for 30 grueling months...........the day Yorubas try that come back make we talk !!!
kettykin: Gowon was misled. And I believe he will spill the beans some day about how people ill advised him against protecting igbos in the north. We all know who advised him to starve women and children and who advised him to trash Aburi Agreement but we don't know yet why he refused to at least protect vulnerable igbos in the north.
look for the hands of skull miners in any igbo misfortune.......very hidden hands!!
Trump a foolish animal abi? That is what a naive and dull black mumu in Africa will conjure in his twisted mind tormented by tribalism and skull mining philosophy!
Topsido: State Govt building fun spot in big 2025! So 1970ish mentality. Private individuals do that shi in SW here. Nice work but pls this is not the job of the govt. Sell that city to capable private hands immediately and focus on more ambitious projects.
The government has to intervene in certain sectors to kick start bigger things from the private sector!
When the jungle matures.....you dumb and slow Nigerians will cry and cry for Nnamdi Kanu.....una no know wetin the world powers are planning for your black behinds................ Most of the mumus that write against Nnamdi Kanu have not lifted a finger to protest the fact that it was CIA using USAID to destabilize Nigeria..............so who is funding the very formidable Fulani banditry and Fulani herdsmen terrorism?
Its funny that Boko haram started at the time that Obasanjo and Okonjo Iweala had Nigeria's economy was growing at a pace to reach I trillion dollars in GDP by 2025 ........of course the global power players vowed no to allow a black nation to get to that level!n The rest is history!
SmartyPants: Lies. Below is what gives you sleepless nights. Just like a toddler who cannot bear to see his or her sibling get a sweet without demanding the same even if he or she just got one 5 minutes earlier.
If you wanted the best for your business (assuming you have one, which I doubt), you would ask for best-in-class facilities, not "what Lagos has."
That your standard is "what Lagos has" reveals the jealousy that is festering within your primitive mind. Your heart is like that of Cain - full of bitter covetousness.
What Lagos has in the ports in Lagos .......are world class, they may not be the biggest or fastest in service delivery but they are world-class nonetheless.........Maersk and co-running their terminals in Lagos are global players sir! Grimaldi RORO in Lagos is world class sir! Stop gaslighting !
yarimo: Criminal minded people, by tomorrow he will be among the people claiming international business man with billions in his account
where did billionaire Bashir Ahmed get the millions he is doling out carelessly.......we know by default that Nigerian money belongs to every Yarimo,Bashir and Mohammed that has access to federal power........so I am not surprised at your response!
SmartyPants: Your devotion to incessant complaining and endless demands is admirable, however I score you 4/10 for your lack of fresh talking points. Try again.
I am based in Port Harcourt...........why should I not desire the best for my business? Do you think it is profitable to run my containers from Apapa to Port Harcourt........with all the bad roads and corrupt officials all along the road.......You talk like someone who has never done international trade before!
Anyway, most of you Lagosians are so selfish ..sometimes I do wonder about you guys.......so selfish and unfeeling! Na only yoruba bodies good thing dey sweet! You guys are so cold!!
Lagos has Apapa, Tin can and the Lekki deep seaports. There are several other private ports like that of Dangote and Oando.
Others are incoming like the new ports of Snake Island, Badagry and Epe
Ondo has the Ilaje deep seaport incoming.
Ogun statee also has plans for its own seaports.
ndigbo are the largest ethnic group in the south south .....kiss da truth!
The attached picture is snake island, which will soon become another busy logistic port of commerce in Yorubaland. Stay there dey zuzu shouting Yoruba upandan. Regardless, the Yoruba people are happy about the progress of the people of the South-South. We aren't anti-progress like some people..
SmartyPants: Wonderful. I wonder what the complainers will say.
we want competitive pricing of shipping services and a RORO terminal........we want all services in Lagos replicated in Onne! na wa you o! we want to reduce Igbo presence in your Lagos!
Electorate: Mazi Nnamdi Kanu should stop disturbing our cyberspace with his daily wailings, he shouldn't be wailing everyday because he already knew what to expect from the Zoo.
The Zoo is giving him what he deserves and the Zoo have no regards for the law while he keeps shouting upandan that the Zoo should obey the law, Lai Lai, A lawless Zoo cannot obey the law, this is what is expected in a Zoo so why is he now surprised and wailing?..The Zoo cannot automatically change to a saner place just because Nnamdi Kanu is detained.
Let the Zoo breath...abeg.
A day cometh , when you will cry for a man like Kanu but alas you will not find him or the likes of him...........the world is about to descend into the time of tribulation............but you mumus in the zoo are sleeping on duty! I feel sorry for you people!
InyinyaAgbaOku: So, cos it's dualized, you doubled the road length? Smh
Go and check the meaning of technical in a dictionary.......this is just engineering lingo! the traversed length of the construction ground may well be 34km but technically the length of the driveable surface is 68km! I feel the reason why soludo govt defined the length as 68 km is because of naysayers who will scream at the cost of a mere 34 km road..................!
APCHaram: Anambra keeps making the news daily for the wrong reason.
Why are the kidnappers targeting these Catholic priests ?
Abi they also have billionaire Reverends in Alambla ?
After swallowing a prodigious amount of amala and wallowing in the odoriferous nether regions of Murikatu your agbo seller girl friend...you come here to vomit your tribal drivel..........yet you mumus do not want Ndigbo to leave your sinking ship! na una go tire !!
bixton: Did you not know that he had already won it in spiritual realm and that was why it was made possible in the physical.....
Satan won the battle for Adamic authority in the garden of eden but we know he will ultimately lose the war............Tinubu is going to lose the war las las! Just like Buhari did..........what are the legacies of the buhari era.........nothing of course!!
cadmanspize: 68km? Soludo wan finish Anambra with propaganda. . A 34km project at which FG is undertaken km at the anambra/imo boundary with differemt contractor(uga/akokwa), Living the rest 30km for soludo, and this anu is here lien up and down? 68km? from where to where is 68km? Amawbia to uga. Soludo and lies...
technically its a 68km road cos its dualized ................ Everyone knows it is a 34km road and the FG is doing 8km on the imo side.......all this is on the ANSG website...where is the propaganda??
Bestmanfornow: The ongoing 68km Amawbia-Nise-Agulu-Nanka-Ekwulobia-Uga road dualization project, which connects Anambra to Imo state being constructed by Anambra state governor Prof Charles Soludo now in advance stage, the Anambra state governor is connecting all the cities in the state with dualise roads
Soludo should ensure that the federal government refunds every kobo he spends on this road. After all, it is a federal government road! When the federal govt completes the dualization of the last 6 km of this same road across the border with Ino state...........the dualization of the Awka-Ekwuluobia- Uga-Owerri will be complete!............people should note that a spur from this same road is being dualized westwards from Agulu to terminate at Okija......via Nnobi and of course Nnewi.................I also heard that the road from Nkpor/Onitsha will be dualized to hit the Agulu-Nnewi-okija road at Nnobi.............Soludo is on fire at the moment! The man aint playing at all!
AMINDA: They are mostly featherweight money-hungry politicians who have been away from the purse for so long. Tinubu was grossly unpopular in 2023 and now, even more so (since he's been tested and found lacking). He won with the least margin ever in Nigeria's political history. Despite all these, the numbers still show that the core North delivered Tinubu through the margins he got, at the time when even most Yorubas were too timid to openly support his campaign for fear of obidients.
Tinubu does not even have the entire Southern base in his grip and could only salvage 4 out of 6 states in the Southwest, 1 state out of 6 in the Southsouth (Rivers state under questionable circumstances) and zero state in the Southeast. It wasn’t the Northern minorities that made Tinubu president (they mostly voted Obi in protest of muslim-muslim ticket). It was the Northern majority (despite splitting their votes 3 ways between Tinubu, a very formidable Northern Atiku and to a lesser extent, Kwankwaso who still got over a million votes). Numbers don't lie.
Tinubu would have been better off consolidating on his Northern base, not thinking he could replace the Northern majority with the minorities. To totally get the votes of Northern minorities, Tinubu will have to change his muslim-muslim ticket (suicide) or get CAN and all the pastors to endorse his muslim-muslim ticket (a set trap), all while improving on the economy.
Tinubu did not win that election at all..........he knew he was going to lose the election that was why they used inec to sabotage the BVAS.........Tinubu has never recovered 100% legitimacy since 2023! That electoral heist will always count against him in spiritual realm!
RIP to the unfortunate victim............ Yorubas are underrating the menace of the Fulani cos of their badly hidden political alliance with the North but long term they are giving the killer herdsmen the space and time to embed themselves in the southwest! Even a seasoned intelligence officer like retired general Togun said this!
Igboland is better placed in the fight against the insurgency of Fulani banditry because the southeast is way smaller in geographical size than yorubaland and far more densely populated than yorubaland.......these 2 factors aid in denying fulanis the ability to heavily embedd killer cells effectively in Igboland..............also Igboland is bordered by a largely xtian middle belt in the north .......a heavily xtian Bini region in the west and a heavily xtian Efik/Ibibio territory in the east..........Igboland is of course largely bordered by the Atlantic and Kalabari/Okrika in the south..............this is unlike Yorubaland which is already bordered by Islamic territories in the north and of course a porous Benin border in the west!
Tinubu had better make sure he puts in place legislation for state police before the 2027 elections,,, there is no guarantee that he will win the next presidential elections!
Irony1: The bolded is the greatest blunder he has ever made, as that singular move crashed the economy.
No ...it saved the economy actually............!!
The government has been able to clear the forex backlog...............and the realistic exchange rate has attracted more forex into the economy! The problem is that when Nigerian governments see money they go haywire and bersek.........spending every dime on frivolities!
femisplash: This is quite an ambitious target, $200b in 10years. If you ask me why I'm screaming, you may soon find out. As I was saying, this could be likened to "project rebuilding the SE". Going by the figures in the article, SE economy is currently at $40b, which means the plan is to increase the GDP by 20%, an average of 2% a year. The FG's projection is a $1trillion GDP by 2030. That's a 5year plan ( medium), compared to SouthEast's $200b in 10years, which could be estimated at $100b in 5years. Therefore, in 5years, SE is projecting a 10% of Nigeria's total GDP in 5years, that's quite ambitious, bro.
To settle pretty well into this, the start off approach has to be holistic, aggressive and effective. First off, the economic activities in the SE has to kick back up, which literary means that the unending sit at home has to come to an end immediately before other set goals will have to follow. Investment in the SE is absymally low both for local and FDI, that would have to improve and accelerated by every means necessary, more internet penetration, more bankable residents, and all of that, inorder to spread inclusivity to the far remote areas. More importantly, the larger majority have to change and redirect their mindsets towards Government's projects. The negative insinuations motivated by political colouration have to be reduced to the minimal. An instance where some group of people describe a costal project connecting the neighbouring SS states as an highway to fraud, is nothing but absolutely ridiculous. A $200billion regional economy will encourage as much as possible any infrastructural projects as massive as the coastal road project that will potentially open up the SE region to more economic attraction. Pls, you need to stop the pessimism about the project henceforth. Then again, the SEDC board must be independent off the whims and caprices of the Governors. There will be a hell amount of pressure to embezzle and to share around some funds but they need to grow some ball of steel. The NASS members who nominated them will also be having a thirsty throat, wielding their power to remove and reshuffle the membership if they don't play ball. I hope they will be able to handle all of these in the interests of the people. Hopefully, the new kids on the block (SEDC members) will prove to be different from the old salt ( the Governors).
Mark Okoye is an intelligent and gifted technocrat but he may be playing way above his league with this appointment! With a well-known political shark like Orji Kalu breathing down his back........I do not see how this will not be worse than the ineffectual and corrupt NDDC...........SEDC is set to become an agency for political patronage.......churning out hundreds of near-useless contracts...................... Your missive may well be intended but it has a lot of holes in it...either by omission or commission!
As far as I know, the Southwest has no development commission but it's not lacking key strategic projects embarked upon by the federal government! What the southeast needs are key strategic infrastructural projects to kick start industrialization of the region.........if it is investments on a commercial level ...we have all that!
Tinubu plays way too much politics at times........you want us to end sit at home Mondays? Still, Tinubu has held Kanu in detention like Buhari, mind you the sit at home is civil disobedience to pressure the southeast govts to do something for the release of Kanu ......... it is not really about Biafra restoration per say!
There are low hanging fruits that Tinubu can pluck that can kickstart an economic renaissance in the region, Tinubu can abolish all laws and regulations preventing the Onne Port from functioning as a full commercial seaport! Tinubu can complete The new terminal of the enugu International airport...............he can also award the construction of a high pressure gas pipeline from the gas fields of egbeme to Onitsha via Owerri............You talk of a coastal road but why did the Tinubu govt not include a spur off the coastal road to say Aba..........? You and I know why Tinubu cannot with a clear eye do all these in the southeast!
Name: Southern Nigerian Federation Population (2022): 97.8M Area: 208,415 Km2 Approx. GDP (2022): $285 Billion No. of States: Six
Government Structure
Executive:
Federal Commission
Consists of 5 members: Two from [Yoruba] state, two from [Igbo] state, one from the remaining states. Collaborate to make decisions. Similar to the Federal Council in Switzerland or European Commission in the EU
Southern unity my foot....run far with your agbado gaslighting........where was southern unity when Tinubu and his horde of ojota activists conspired with the North to cut short a south south presidency? where was southern unity when Tinubu and his agbado gang conspired with the same North to hijack a clear Peter Obi victory at the polls............ Yorubas should not be shocked if other Southerners conspire with the North to cut short Tinubu's first term of mixed results........I am even surprised as a former NADECO chief that Tinubu has not even moved restructuring by 1 inch forward............. Even a clueless Jonathan was able to conduct a national conference!
Leobankx: The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has said they are ready to offer Russia a straightforward land exchange in a bid to end the three-year war between the two countries.
This useless man is delusional........the mumu thought Ukrainians had suddenly become Americans overnight..........he was used in an attempt to weaken Russia............ Russia is ready to fight another 10 years............. Ukraine should get ready for the fight of their lives...........the war is just starting!
So where is NNPC getting the funds to fund fuel importation and to rehabilitate 4 refineries simultaneously? I support Tinubu's floating of oil prices.......... without proper cost recovery and investment interest how can a sector survive and thrive! In my view this coupled with the floating of the exchange rate is Tinubu's best policy so far but the guy is frittering the gains away with his tinwa tinwa and amala politics!
Tinubu is no nationalist nor statesman his tribal-based politics is his albatross!
stevonics: Leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has alleged that Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja, was insisting on presiding over his trial due to corruption cases involving her husband and son.
Kanu made the claims on Monday while appearing in court for the continuation of his trial. In a viral video on social media, Kanu is heard accusing the judge of using her position for personal gain.
“Justice Binta Nyako is using her position for personal gain. Her son and her husband are facing corruption charges. And they (the Nigerian government) told them that if they convict me, they will free the son and the husband,” Kanu alleged.
Although he did not provide details of the alleged cases, it is widely known that Murtala Nyako, a former governor of Adamawa State, and his son, Senator Abdulaziz Nyako, were being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over a N29 billion fraud case.
Recall that Justice Nyako had previously announced her recusal from Kanu’s case following allegations of bias, but the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court later reassigned the case to her, sparking further protests from Kanu’s legal team.
During Monday’s court session, Kanu insisted that Nyako had disobeyed a Supreme Court ruling that restored his bail.
“There’s a breach of judicial oath. They have violated their judicial oath because they have shown bias, according to the Supreme Court,” he said.
He further questioned the insistence on his trial, arguing that the government had no case against him.
“A court order was entered. It was said clearly and succinctly that she (Justice Nyako) is no longer going to try me. Why are they insisting? Because they have no case against me, and they know it.”
Kanu also challenged the authority of the Chief Judge to reassign his case to Justtice Nyako despite her earlier withdrawal.
“This is a federal gazetted law of Nigeria that says the Chief Judge of Nigeria cannot tell Binta Nyako what to do,” he said while waving documents in court.
He further declared that he no longer recognised the court’s authority over him.
“She stands recused from my case and cannot try me. I came here out of courtesy and respect,” Kanu asserted.
The IPOB leader, who has been in detention since his arrest and extradition from Kenya in 2021, reiterated his stance on Biafra’s independence.
“I am agitating for Biafra because I have the right to do so,” he stated.
Kanu was first arrested in 2015 under former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. In 2022, the Court of Appeal ruled that his extradition from Kenya was illegal and ordered his release. However, the Federal government refused to comply, arguing that his release could escalate insecurity in the South-East.
The government later appealed the ruling, and in December 2023, the Supreme Court overturned the lower court’s decision, ordering the continuation of Kanu’s trial.
