Again, I ask.
You mean if my 10 year old nephew gets a visitor visa to the UK and comes in with his dad. The dad return to Nigeria and leaves the boy with me. 7 years later, when the boy is 17, he can go to ‘regularise’ his status?
Sure. If he can demonstrate 7 years rule by showing his school records and other stuffs that proofs he had lived in the uk for 7 years

You mean a 9 year old can come to UK on a visitor visa to visit me, and not return.

7 years later, I can regularise that child?

Infact, you mean a 10 year old can come on a 1 year dependant visa. Then the 10 year old gets ‘lost’ in the crowd. Then have themselves regularised when they are 17 (7years later)?

Really?
The law is statight forward as long as you are not 18 before your residence in the uk is 7 years you are entitled to regularisation. No Jupiter can send the child out of uk after 7 years as he or she is entitled to private right. Many people had regularised their status this way cos as soon as the child gets regularised the parent use their child's status to regularise.

There isn't a special category for being born here as the kids fall under the immigration status of their parents at the time of birth.

The advantage from being born here is that it can be used to regularise their status after 7 years.
Even if you are not born in the uk, you can regularise a child after living in the uk for 7 years irrespective of the parent's status

See the manipulative power of women at work! The time will come when you would understand and I just pray it would not be too late then.
I am speaking from experience. I wish God could bring back my own Father for just 24 hours, so I could hug him, cry on his shoulders and ask him to forgive me! I wish my Father could arise from his grave, so I could spend some money on him.
It took almost 40 years before I knew the whole truth! Alas, it was too late!!
Sometimes fathers do things coded without informing anyone but mothers. They will let you know who did what. If you check deep down you will discover your father was instrumental to your success. He gave you shelter, security and food, moreso he made you know how to be man by not giving you everything

I don't really blame these guys using iron fist to handle the woman. Sometimes they have over 14 people to attend to and demented patients can be stubborn at times. If it was truly abuse they would have sentenced them to minimum of 5 years.

why don't you check you account. Its possible you split payment into 9 or 10 months. So starting from April 2023, you have paid the council tax for the year, so no more payment till you receive a new bill in April.
It looks like you hit the nail on the head
Travel / Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by abuhusna1: 5:07pm On Jan 04
I need head up on my council tax. I set a direct debit for the council and they deduct their 250 pounds monthly all through 2023 but this 2024 January they only deducted 21 pounds. Could that be an error or a bonus. Do I need to call them to ask why.

Networking and socialising with local community especially nigerians and africans in general can get you jobs faster than online applications. Almost every work place have in house referral systems that wants their workers to bring in their trusted person to work for them and they get paid for the referral.

Elders in the house, I thought having a well managed CCs is a good way to building one's credit score. Why is my case different na? Here is my journey so far:

I and my partner arrived the UK in August last year. I tried to get CCs for both of us but were denied by AMEX, monzo and Lloyd's. Luckily for us, it didn't affect our Credit score. My partner is a full time worker while I was a student working part-time.
I decided not to apply again until last month.
My partner got accepted by two CC companies (zable and Capital one) while I applied for only Zable and got as well. Whenever we use the CCs we pay back latest after 1 to 2 days. We try to maintain a zero balance.

I recently checked our Credit scores on Transunion, they were OK. But to my greatest surprise, my partner's score on Experian had dropped by over 100 points within one month of using CC and reported a credit balance of just £28 out over £400 credit limit. While mine reported zero balance but dropped by only 1 point. My experian credit score remain Fantastic.

My question is, elders in the house, does it mean it's better not to have a CC? How would they drastically reduce my partner's credit score when im no get any due repayment (just £28 she spent and she paid back the next day or so ).

Make una help biko
Their is a link on experian called experian boost let him click it and link to his uk accounts. As long as he has series of direct debits it will boost his records by up to 50%. I did and it worked for me

Travel / Re: She Was Denied USA Spousal Visa. What Can She Do? by abuhusna1: 11:52am On Dec 24, 2023
NiceLegs:
Hello everyone.

Please I need you inputs on this.

My Uncle who is a Citizen in USA filed to bring his wife in Nigeria whom he married in 2020 to the United States in that same year 2020.

Luckily after a very long wait time, the USA Embassy in Nigeria called the wife for interview after 2 years in the year 2022.

She went for the interview and was not given the Spousal visa or Green card or whatever they call it undecided

They told her to get more evidence of their marriage as the Visa Officers were not convinced they were married.

They fixed her to come after 2 months from the first interview date.

Before the second interview date, my Uncle in USA fell terribly sick were he could not speak atall.

They could not communicate with themselves at this stage.

She went for the second interview after the two months and was not given visa again.

My Uncle's case got worse that he was even brought back to Nigeria in January 2023.

Now my question is this, in such case, can the wife still get the USA Spousal Visa on her own at this stage?

What can she do to still get the Spousal Visa from here?

My Uncle is still in Nigeria as we speak.

Experienced USA migration experts, what can she do?
She should stay in nigeria take care of the sick husband first. Humanity first
