presidency:
THEY HAVE EYES BUT CANNOT SEE. PITY!

By FEMI ADESINA

It has been a hectic week. Frenetic. We set forth at dawn on Monday from Abuja to Bauchi, to attend the Presidential and gubernatorial campaign of All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates. It was only Muhammadu Buhari, the Mai Gaskiya (honest man), that could have commanded the number of people that turned out. Without inducement. Endless sea of heads. He remains the greatest political crowd puller we have ever seen in the country since the beginning of time.

From Bauchi, same Monday, we flew into Lagos. To commission the $1.5 billion Lekki Deep Sea Port, then West Africa’s largest rice mill at Imota, and a lubricant plant at Tin Can, Apapa, owned by MRS Petroleum Company.

Tuesday saw the President commissioning two more projects, including the Blue Line Rail. And from there, we flew to Dakar, Senegal, to attend a summit on food security in Africa, billed for Wednesday. Our President delivered a Keynote Address, and we left for Nigeria in the evening. We didn’t reach Katsina, and Daura till about 1 am Thursday.

Now as I write this Thursday morning, we are in Katsina, commissioning legacy projects, including; Kofar Kaura Underpass, Kofar Kaura Waterworks, Revenue House, Meteorological Institute, Darma Rice Mills, Kofar Kwaya Underpass, Katsina General Hospital, among others. The spree continues Friday, then same at Kano on Monday, and Jigawa on Tuesday.

Our President is 80 years old, don’t forget. And he does all these at a sprint. We that are far younger struggle to catch up with him. On Thursday, after going to bed around 3 am, on return from Senegal, I refused to get out of bed till my colleagues came to evacuate me, saying the President was ready and raring to go. I sprang up. President Buhari is a blessed man, despite a debilitating health challenge he had in 2017. God has been truly merciful.

Now, all these projects being commissioned in States are because the Federal Government created an enabling environment, and enunciated the right policies.. There are even counterpart relationships in some of them. I tell you, this President has done great things for our country, including fighting insecurity to a standstill, and on the verge of winning the war.

Some cynics claim they’ve not seen anything Buhari has done. Yes, the Second Niger Bridge is so small, so they need a magnifying glass to see it. The Lagos/Ibadan Expressway is so minuscule, and they need to wear their medicated glasses. Rail line like catacombs in certain parts of the country? Bring my microscope, let me check. Same for Enugu/Port Harcourt Expressway, Bodo/Bonny road and bridges, Loko-Oweto road and bridge, brand new airport terminals in Abuja, Lagos, Kano, Enugu, Port Harcourt, rice mills everywhere. “We can’t see.” Purblind people.

What of Abuja-Zaria-Kano expressway in the works? AKK pipelines. And many other projects. No, they can’t see, because Buhari has done nothing. Fickle minds. Caviling. Carping. Flippant. Unserious.

Those who know and are honest testify to what President Buhari has achieved for the country. And because there’s no need reinventing the wheel, let me adopt the chronicle of Minister for Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in a recent press briefing. I then challenge anyone who wants to countermand the achievements to openly come out and say so.

Let’s go:

“Let me use this opportunity to comment on the increasing tendency by some opposition presidential candidates to downplay the achievements of this Administration, in their desperation for power, ahead of the 2023 elections. The worst offender in this regard has been the presidential candidate of the PDP, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. During his recent campaign in Akure, the former VP was quoted as saying the APC had not done anything for Nigeria in eight years. What a preposterous statement from somebody who should know. I guess we can excuse His Excellency the former Vice President who, until recently, had fully relocated to Dubai, thus losing touch with Nigeria.

“And if anyone would accuse the APC-led Federal Government of doing nothing, it should not be Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. Why? Because for the 16 years of the PDP rule, eight of which Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was Vice President, there was no motorable road to the former VP's hometown and indeed to key local governments in the Southern Senatorial zone that served as Adamawa's food basket and economic nerve centre until the Government of President Muhammadu Buhari
assumed office. Today, gentlemen, the Mayo Belwa- Jada- Ganye- Toungo road has been constructed fully and it’s the road that Alhaji Atiku uses to get to his hometown of Jada.

“What about security? Before this Administration came into office, all the five local government areas in Adamawa's Northern Senatorial District were effectively under the control of the Boko Haram terrorists. All state institutions, the local government administration, the police, the judiciary, schools, hospitals and markets had been sacked. Traditional rulers, including Emirs and
Chiefs, had been displaced with their palaces taken over by the terrorists as their headquarters.
The affected 5 local governments in the Northern Senatorial zone are:
1. Madagali
2. Michika
3. Mubi North
4. Mubi South and
5. Little Gombi

“In the Central Senatorial zone, two local governments were effectively under the control of the Boko Haram terrorists: These two local governments in the Central Senatorial zone are:
1. Maiha Local Government
2. Hong Local government.

“Today, not an inch of these local governments in Adamawa, the home state of the former Vice President, is under the control of terrorists. All institutions of state have relocated back and are operational. All Emirs and chiefs have returned to their palaces. Schools and markets have opened. Please note, gentlemen, that
throughout that period, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar could not even go home. As a matter of fact, when one of his right hand men, Mr. Adila, was killed by the terrorists, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar could not even go to condole with the family of the deceased. It was that bad.
Now that he can travel home freely, thanks to the Buhari
Administration, it is not sweet in his mouth to accuse the same Administration of doing nothing. As they say, the bedwetter should not join those who are insulting the washerman.

“In the area of Social Investment Programmes, there have been 29,641 beneficiaries, from Adamawa alone, of the N-POWER Programme of the Buhari Administration. Under the Home Grown School Feeding
Programme, some 162,782 pupils from Adamawa are benefitting from one meal a day. That programme employs 2,259 cooks in Adamawa and has
covered 1,236 schools in the state. How many school children did the PDP feed in Adamawa or anywhere in the eight years that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar held sway as Vice President in Abuja!

“We are not done. Under the Conditional Cash Transfer, some 64,607 vulnerable people have benefitted in Adamawa alone, while Trader Moni and Market Moni have reached a total of 38,000 people in the state.

“In the area of infrastructure, some 8 roads projects totalling 714 kilometres are currently being rehabilitated or constructed in the state. That's out of 43 road projects in the North East alone. These are not phantom projects. We have the full list of the roads and can
make it available to anyone who so wishes.

“Similarly, the North East Development Commission (NEDC) has either completed or is currently working on 140 projects, including construction of classrooms, healthcare facilities and ICT training centres, in Adamawa alone. Overall, NEDC has a total of 593 projects in the entire North East. Again, we have a full list of the projects.

“Gentlemen, you can now see that we didn't even need to go far to disprove the former VP's soap box statement.
You can also see the irony of someone who held the number two position in the country for all of eight years but could not positively impact on his own hometown, state or region now condemning an Administration
that has made it possible for him to even access his hometown, anytime he flies in from his new hometown of Dubai! The Administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has had a positive impact on all parts of this federation. No amount of fallacious soap box rhetorics can change this fact.”

True. Projects abound in all zones of the country, done by the Buhari Administration, and you will get to have a compendium soon. But let those who have eyes, and deliberately refuse to see, continue. They will fall into a ditch, and great will be that fall.

In the words of Jimmy Scott, a Nigerian drummer, made popular by the Beatles, “O-bladi, O-blada , life goes on bra, la-la-la-la life goes on.”

I am a die hard Peter Obi fan but guys Peter Obi is not your next president. I want him to be president but he won't be president because the election of 2023 will end in court for a final verdict. The court will proclaim either Tinubu or Atiku as the Winner.

Your next president is either Tinubu or Atiku and it will be the court that will affirm it. ohh you think a Buhari court would say Peter Obi won? Never. The court will do what Buhari secretly want...either to see Atiku wins or Tinubu.

The only thing that can change this from happening is if Peter Obi visits Mbaka and he prays and Endorse him or prophesy that he is the next president, if not.

SORRY.

PETER OBI WILL LOSE TO EITHER ATIKU OR TINUBU AND IT WILL COME FROM A FINAL BLOW FROM THE COURT.

I have analyse my informations. Also, a deep revelation and understanding came into my mind before coming up with this post.

So Nigerians make una brace up to see either Atiku or Tinubu as your president.
You are cursed with a curse! You are a bloody liar. Peter Obi will be declared winner. Watch and see evil fool.

EriMma1:
This may sound weird but it's my situation now.

I have been a single and independent lady for a very long time. Though I really looked forward to settling down in my 20s and thirties but because I was the over careful type, I couldn't as I kept being picky due to men's character and behavior.

Fast-forward to my lat 30s, I began to lose interest and started getting more comfortable as a single. The upheavals in today's marriage also got to me. As in the way marriages are packing up, the cheating aspect, abuse and domestic violence in marriages all further affected me and changed my whole perception of the union called marriage. So I unconsciously resolved to remain single as long as I'm happy, comfortable and financially independent.

Some of the reasons I also made up my mind are.
As a single, Im very much at peace, with no one dictating what and when I should do things or get out of bed. I love my bed.
No one is body shaming me when I add on some pounds due to excessive eating and no one is questioning my eating habits as its sometimes the case with some married women. Also running errands when you don't feel up to it just because hubby wants you to do it. Some men can send their wife on errand like crazy and me I hate running errands. angry

No one is disturbing me when I need time alone which could last for hours. I love my space and privacy. So the thought of having to give up all that scares the hell out of me.

Now, back to the matter.

Recently, some close spiritual leaders in my denomination have been trying to match make me with a single pastor and that one too is shining teeth that he has seen a jimjim sister. When they now openly mentioned it yesterday with the said man around and he too was nodding and agreeing to the proposal, it dawned on me that these people are not joking. When I got home, i sank into my comfy space and began to fret. I mean... The thought of giving up all that freedom is just so scary. I suddenly discovered that marriage no longer excites me and my inner self was fighting it.
Also, the thought of carrying pregnancy for nine months with all the stress of looking after babies, tending toddlers ( poo poo) and that motherhood life made me sick instantly. The thought of joggling my job with family life gave me the chills. I see how my married mates struggle with this. Huh. Men...

I don't know. I don't feel cool about this cos it makes me feel like I'm about to be put in a cage and everything about me is going to change.

Now, before you talk about me not loving the man, I think I fancy him and can love him cos he looks so much like my ex of years ago. So that is out of the question. He is a happening lovable man but....... I no longer feel excited about marriage. at least, from what played out yesterday.

Do I need any form of therapy cos my family won't hear of it but this is my situation now ooo... Hmmm
Please include also that you overindulge in heavy masturbation and Lesbianism. Include the truth for balance, it helps people to advice you. Tell us about your intimacy gadgets. Jimjim my ass! Pretender does the worst.

According to a senior LP leader, Bashir and other party leaders were not being carried along by Datti who Obi directed to oversee the campaign mobilization in the North.

Other party leaders who snubbed the rally include: Chairman of LP Presidential Campaign Council, Mohammed Zarewa, State coordinator of Peter Obi’s campaign, Balarabe Wakili; and Idris Dambazau, a member of the presidential campaign council.

Naijalarry:

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Osita Chidoka says the South-East should back the party in the 2023 elections.

While observers believe Labour Party’s Peter Obi who is from the region will disrupt PDP’s dominance in the South-East, the former Aviation Minister said it would be unwise for Igbos to leave the party they have supported since 1999.

“The Igbo position for me is that our significant investment in the PDP for 24 years cannot be thrown away overnight. I remain in the PDP and many Igbos remain in the PDP, ” he said on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.

He believes that while advocates of an Igbo presidency outside the PDP are not wrong, the main opposition party is the shortest route for the South-East to clinch the country’s top seat.

Conceding that Peter Obi has made significant progress in wooing Nigerians, he maintains that is not enough. According to him, the South-East must move a step closer to make the presidential dream a reality.

“The Igbo presidency is just around the corner. Once an Igbo man is capable of holding on strong in a party and controlling the levers of that party, that is going to happen soon,” the PDP chieftain added.

On the presidential election, Chidoka argued that the PDP is poised to win the exercise, citing the party’s organisational structure and its candidate’s experience and resilience.

“Atiku Abubakar has won the election. It is just a matter of time. When we get to February 25th, the country will say it,” he said.

Atiku, he adds, is capable of mopping up votes across the country. Despite the inter wranglings in the PDP, Chidoka says that won’t affect its candidate’s chances.

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has not done well for the country and thus won’t win votes in many parts of Nigeria, he says.

“They have significantly degraded the capacity of Nigeria as a nation. They have degraded our unity in diversity and our economy,” Chidoka said.

PoliticsRe: 2023: Peter Obi’s Records As Governor Disqualifies Him From Presidency – Ozobu by AbujaCitiBlog: 5:28pm On Jan 21, 2023
Kuginzi:
A chieftain of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Prince Richard Ozobu, has said that the records and actions of the presidential candidate of the Labour party, Mr. Peter Obi, during his tenure as the Governor of Anambra State, disqualifies him from contesting for the presidency of Nigeria.

Ozobu, who said the chances of the Labour Party candidate in the 2023 election are too slim, alleged that Obi doesn’t believe in democracy as he refused to conduct council polls in throughout his eight years tenure as the Governor of Anambra State.

He further stated that Obi abandoned the political party on which he rode to office, despite making his promises that he will never leave APGA for another party.

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo chieftain insisted that Nigerians especially the Igbo should look at Obi’s past records of governance in Anambra state and consider whether he can actually be trusted to keep the promises he has been making to Nigerians.

He warned the Igbo against what he described as ‘committing another political blunder by casting their eggs in one basket’ and voting for the former governor, adding that Labour Party lacks the structures and organization to win the 2023 presidential election.

His words; “We must look at Peter Obi’s past records. It is not enough to say that he is an Igbo man. We have to look at his records. Whether or not he is the right candidate is the issue. This is a former Governor that has been politically inconsistent, joining three political parties within the last ten years. This is a man who refused to conduct local government elections as the Governor of Anambra state for eight years. Then, how do you call somebody with such nasty record a democrat? Through this action, he stifled the growth of the local government system in his state. Obi stunted the growth of politicians who could have passed through the local government system in the eight years Obi governed Anambra state and refused to conduct council polls. People say he is humble and simple, but presidency goes beyond these things. Somebody told me that Obi is an apostle of reducing the cost of governance. Reducing the cost of governance was one of the reasons why he couldn’t do what the Constitution said in terms of conducting local government elections in Anambra state, for which he was impeached as Governor. Obi has too many theoretical ideas about governance. These theories won’t help the South East or the country.

“I don’t see Peter Obi as a good and saleable candidate that the Igbo should crack their heads for. It is not just being an Igbo; you must also have the right qualities. The Igbo have been excellent in trade and commerce but we need to get same quality in politics, governance and administration. Look at the massive youth unemployment and insecurity we have in the South East. How many jobs did Peter Obi create in Anambra state during his tenure as governor?

“Obi started from APGA as a governor. We expected that he would have built APGA after using the platform to govern Anambra state for eight years. APGA was formed to be a core platform to Igbo spring board in politics. During the formation of APGA, I can tell you that Governors of Igbo extraction from other political parties made contributions. One expected that Obi would have remained in APGA to build the party. Obi made promises not to abandon APGA, but he never kept the promise. He defected to the PDP, probably seeking for more political heights for himself. Obi handed over Anambra state to a successor who failed as governor. Without sounding immodest, Obi’s successor, Willie Obiano was a disappointment as Governor. He arbitrarily chose his successor and Obiano turned out to be a mistake in governance of Anambra state. And I’m yet to hear Obi condemn the squander mania and poor performance of his successor. The Igbo have an adage which says that charity begins at home. How well did Obi perform at home?

“Now, he is contesting for the presidency on the platform of a party that lacks structure nationwide. Obi can’t play the game well because he doesn’t understand the political field and the rules.

Emphasizing on the need for alliances that could boost electoral success, Ozobu insisted that the Labour Party lacks the structures and capacity to win the presidential election in 2023.

‘Where are the alliances that the Labour party has built to win the presidential election? Of course, you must build alliances to win. You can’t just stand up to say you are contesting for the presidency, there must be alliances otherwise you are just contesting to make up the numbers. You are calling on Igbo people to support Obi, but have you cared to ask if his running mate, Datti , was actually being backed by the North? Have you also asked if the Northern interest is truly behind Datti? This is where the alliances come in. The Igbo need to do a good check and negotiate with one of the presidential candidates who can deliver to us what we need. The Buhari presidency has brought the Igbo lots of infrastructure, not from those representing the Igbo as Ministers and National Assembly. We need to be cautious with our choices in 2023.

On the way forward for the South East zone in 2023, he said; “Our dilemma has been bad leadership. We put our eggs in one basket and failed to negotiate when others were doing so. It is unfortunate that our leaders have not learnt from the mistakes of the past .We need to ask questions about what has happened to the federal allocations that have accrued to the South East zone since 1999. For 2023, we must work very hard and negotiate well in 2023; otherwise we will continue to lament marginalization after the 2023 presidential election must have been won by those who we refuse to negotiate with.”

When I tell you that Nigerian Christians behave as if they are cursed, some of you will begin to doubt me!

When I see otherwise intelligent Christians singing on Tinubu mandate we stand, I see a lost bunch, a shameless group who have lost everything.

May Almighty God never forgive any Christian who sells his faith for a pittance to support a Muslim- Muslim ticket. Or support transition from a Muslim Fulani to another Muslim Fulani.
