Nigerian Students Demand Accountability from Hon. Adefiranye Over Unmet Promises[img][/img]

Students in Nigeria’s Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo/Odigbo Federal Constituency have publicly called out Hon. Festus Adefiranye, their representative in the House of Representatives, for failing to deliver on promises of accountability and tangible benefits. The National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS) and the National Union of Ile-Oluji Students (NUIS) issued a joint statement criticising the lawmaker’s response to their demands, accusing him of resorting to personal attacks instead of addressing their concerns. The students’ leadership expressed frustration over what they described as a lack of meaningful engagement with their constituency.

In a statement signed by Comrade Ganiyu Yusuf O., NAOSS National PRO, Comr. Ejifunmilayo Faith, NUIS National President, and Comr. Adejayan Alex Tosin, NUIS National General Secretary, the student leaders outlined their grievances. They demanded transparency, fairness, and impactful initiatives to address the pressing needs of students in the constituency. “Our advocacy is driven by a desire to excel, contribute to society, and hold our leaders accountable,” the statement read, highlighting their commitment to pushing for better representation.

The students’ criticism centres on Hon. Adefiranye’s alleged failure to deliver significant projects tailored to their needs. They dismissed claims by the lawmaker’s media team that initiatives like summer coaching programmes constitute sufficient progress. The student leaders argued that such efforts are inadequate given the scale of challenges facing young people in the constituency, including limited access to educational resources and empowerment opportunities.

Hon. Adefiranye, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) representing Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo/Odigbo since June 2023, has been praised in some quarters for infrastructure projects and legislative motions. However, the students claim these achievements do not adequately address their specific needs. They pointed to a lack of direct engagement, accusing the lawmaker of being inaccessible and unresponsive to their calls for dialogue.

The statement also highlighted the lawmaker’s alleged reliance on media operatives to deflect criticism. The students described these responses as “ad hominem attacks” lacking substance, failing to provide evidence of impactful student-focused initiatives. They argued that this approach undermines the principles of accountable governance and erodes trust in the lawmaker’s leadership.

Despite the lawmaker’s reported efforts, such as sponsoring a bill for a Federal College of Nursing and Midwifery in Oke-Igbo and facilitating classroom construction, the students remain unimpressed. They argue that these projects, while notable, do not directly address the immediate educational and empowerment needs of the student constituency. The demand for targeted interventions, such as scholarships or skill acquisition programmes, remains unmet.

The students’ leadership vowed to continue their advocacy, undeterred by the lack of response from Hon. Adefiranye. They emphasised their resolve to hold elected officials accountable, stating, “The student constituency will not be silenced; we will persist in our demands for meaningful representation and impactful leadership.” This commitment underscores a growing demand for transparency among Nigerian youth.

The controversy comes amid broader discussions on the role of lawmakers in addressing constituency needs. Hon. Adefiranye’s tenure has seen some progress, including road rehabilitation motions and empowerment initiatives, but the students’ grievances highlight a disconnect between these efforts and their expectations. The call for accountability reflects a broader push for governance that prioritises the needs of young people.

Observers note that the students’ demands align with a national trend of youth-led advocacy for better governance. The NAOSS and NUIS leaders have positioned themselves as part of this movement, leveraging their platform to amplify concerns about representation. Their statement serves as a call to action for other student groups to demand accountability from elected officials.

As the 2025 general elections approach, the pressure on Hon. Adefiranye to address these concerns is likely to intensify. The students’ leadership has signalled their intention to maintain their campaign, urging the lawmaker to prioritise dialogue and deliver tangible results. The outcome of this standoff could set a precedent for how Nigerian lawmakers engage with their constituencies, particularly the youth demographic.

Nairaland GeneralTunde Onakoya And The Rising Stars Of Youth Empowerment In Ogun State by Acadatv(op): 5:50pm On May 22, 2025
Tunde Onakoya and the Rising Stars of Youth Empowerment in Ogun State
By Comrade Olúfẹ́mi ‘MVP’ Owóẹ̀yẹ

It began with fireworks! Both literally and symbolically. The opening ceremony of the National Sports Festival burst into life at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, where Ogun State unveiled not just athletes, but a bold vision of excellence and youth inclusion. Dancers painted the air with vibrant motion, cultural drummers echoed the heartbeats of a united people, and a perfectly choreographed spectacle unfolded like a well-written sonnet.

Amidst the roaring crowd and flashing lights, a particular moment drew thunderous applause, when Tunde Onakoya, the chess maestro and global youth advocate, was introduced to the stadium. It was more than just recognition; it was Ogun State affirming a new narrative: that brilliance, compassion, and service to humanity are our greatest sporting achievements.
And rightly so, as Governor Dapo Abiodun, whose foresight and investment in youth development remain unmatched, stood tall as the chief host of a truly monumental event.

That same evening, as the crowd quieted under the floodlights, another powerful truth crystallized: heroes don't always wear jerseys or hold trophies. Some wield strategy boards, others policy blueprints, and some, sheer willpower. Tunde Onakoya’s story continues to inspire!
A boy from the slums turned global icon, who teaches children in marginalized communities to dream using nothing but a chessboard and belief. One such story tells of a young autistic child who, under his mentorship, grew from isolation into international acclaim thereby transforming each move on the board into an assertion of purpose and promise.
Onakoya doesn’t just teach chess, he unlocks destinies.

But the arena of youth empowerment in Ogun State is vast, and many more champions walk among us. Take Tunde Delu, Chief Operating Officer of the Nigeria Rugby Federation, whose reformative work is lifting rugby from obscurity to relevance. With precision and passion, he’s shaping young athletes into disciplined professionals, giving them purpose through sport.
Then there’s Biola Odetola, the dynamic Special Assistant to the Ogun State Governor on Youth Empowerment and Job Creation. A tireless architect of opportunities, Odetola is ensuring that youth across the state find platforms to express their skills, access jobs, and build sustainable futures.
Ambassador Habeeb Whyte, Esq., a razor-sharp legal mind and steadfast youth advocate, stands at the confluence of policy and progress, channeling influence to create inclusive programs and reforms that echo across the country.

Among those who have also left indelible footprints on Ogun’s evolving youthscape are trailblazers like Dr. Sulaimon Adegboyega Abdullateef, Convener of the Cityboy Movement Ogun State, whose mobilization efforts and youth engagement strategy have redefined civic participation.
Ayo Fadimu, Publisher of Standard Times Newspaper, continues to spotlight youth narratives through fearless journalism and mentorship, arming young writers with platforms to tell their stories.
Meanwhile, Solomon Enilolobo, an international businessman of vision and generosity, has been quietly funding scholarships, startups, and community development projects that shift the socio-economic status of entire families.

Together, these changemakers are part of a larger ecosystem—each one playing their role with excellence and integrity. They may not always make front pages or viral videos, but their collective impact is no less historic. With the right tools, funding, and recognition, their influence could easily double, if not triple, forging a new generation of confident, capable Nigerians ready to lead.

Now picture the ripple effect if these visionaries were given not just applause, but amplification tools such as funding, platforms, and networks. Nigeria’s youth unemployment rate, currently hovering around 33%, wouldn’t just dip but could plummet.
Studies show that every N1 million invested in youth-driven enterprises can generate at least 5 sustainable jobs and indirect economic value of over N3 million annually.
Imagine that impact multiplied across 36 states. Crime rates would fall, mental health would improve, innovation would soar. New industries in sports, media, tech, and agriculture would be birthed from passion projects turned powerhouses. Cultural pride would flourish as our stories are told by us, for us, and celebrated globally. We wouldn’t just raise leaders, we’d spark a generation of builders, thinkers, and changemakers.
These individuals aren’t anomalies, they are blueprints. And when we choose to believe in them, invest in them, and build with them, we don’t just empower people, we also recalibrate a nation.

Comrade Olúfẹ́mi ‘MVP’ Owóẹ̀yẹ is a prominent voice in youth advocacy. A versatile professional with proven expertise in leadership, communications, and project management, he writes from Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Nairaland General‘it’s Inhumane,’ Ogun Vows To Probe Monarch Seen Molesting Man In Viral Video by Acadatv(op): 11:57pm On Feb 02, 2025
The Ogun State Government has vowed to investigate a viral video showing the Oloorile of Orile Ifo in Ifo Local Government Area, Oba Semiu Ogunjobi, allegedly subjecting Chief Arinola Abraham to dehumanising treatment.

In the two-minute clip, Arinola was seen kneeling on the road while a man, said to be Ogunjobi, cursed him and his family while accusing him of conspiracy.

The monarch, reportedly a retired police officer, also boasted of his influence over law enforcement agencies, threatening to jail the chief.

At one point, a man accompanying the traditional ruler slapped Arinola and ordered him to prostrate before the king.

Ogunjobi, who spoke in Yoruba, said “You are a conspirator, it will never be well with you… your wife and children… whoever thinks he is courageous enough should come out to face me…even if you die, we shall bury you and nothing will happen….”

Reacting to the video, Governor Dapo Abiodun’s Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, described the act as “inappropriate and inhumane.”

In a response to PUNCH Online’s inquiry, Akinmade said, “This will be investigated, and if proven to be true, necessary action will be taken.”

Similarly, the governor’s Special Assistant on New Media, Emmanuel Ojo, condemned the incident in a Facebook post, stating that such matters should be handled in a more civilised manner.

Ojo wrote, “I came across a disturbing video online showing Chief Arinola Abraham Love (JP) being subjected to public humiliation and physical assault.

“In the video, he was seen kneeling on the road while being slapped and verbally abused by someone identified as Ọba Semiu Olawale Ogunjobi, the Oloorile of Orile Ifo.

“This incident reportedly stemmed from a kingship supremacy dispute.

“The king allegedly took offence at Chief Arinola Abraham Love’s perceived support for a coronet Oba named Wasiu (as mentioned in the video). In response, he confronted the elderly man in his area and treated him in a manner unbefitting of a traditional ruler.

“Such an act is highly condemnable and completely unjustifiable, regardless of the underlying issues.

“There are more dignified and lawful ways to address disputes, especially among traditional leaders. Resorting to force, assault, and public humiliation is unacceptable and must be strongly denounced.”

By Global Compass

ABUJA - In a groundbreaking move, the Honourable Minister for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, has lifted the ban restricting National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) postings to the public sector. This bold initiative, effective with the 2024 Batch 'C' Orientation exercise, empowers corps members to serve in private sector organisations, including banks and oil and gas companies, initially in Lagos and Abuja.

Hon. Afolabi Moruf Afuape, Member Representing Abeokuta South Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives in a statement signed by Ibrahim Adeniran, his Special Assistant on Students Matters, said "Minister Olawande's visionary leadership has yielded significant strides in youth development. His policy initiatives aim to bridge the gap between academic training and industry requirements, enhancing employability and entrepreneurship opportunities for Nigerian youths."

By aligning NYSC postings with courses of study, Olawande fosters practical experience and skill development, ultimately driving socio-economic growth. The Minister's dedication to inclusivity is exemplary, reiterating President Bola Tinubu's commitment to promoting inclusivity in government initiatives and preventing marginalization or discrimination in youth policies.

Olawande's collaboration with youth-focused organisations fosters an inclusive dialogue, prioritising young people's voices and aspirations. As Adeniran noted, "We urge other public officials to emulate Minister Olawande's proactive approach, utilising their portfolios to provide practical solutions to Nigerians' plight."

Minister Olawande's efforts have not gone unnoticed. His partnership with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) to train 30 million youths in digital skills is a testament to his commitment to empowering Nigerian youths.¹

As Olawande himself stated, "The partnership with NITDA to train corp members is one effort that will improve the skill set of Nigerian youth and consequently guarantee a better future for all."

With his revolutionary NYSC reform, Minister Olawande has set a shining example, demonstrating the potential for positive change through dedicated public service. As the country looks to the future, one thing is clear: Minister Olawande is a champion of Nigerian youths, and his leadership is a symbol of hope for a brighter tomorrow.

NEC Sets Up Committee to Address Power Grid Challenges

By Olúfẹ́mi Owóẹ̀yẹ

The National Economic Council (NEC) has taken a significant step towards addressing Nigeria's persistent power grid challenges by establishing a committee on National Electrification. The committee, headed by Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, aims to deepen states' engagement with the Electricity Reform Act 2023 and the National Electrification Strategy and Implementation Plan.

The decision was made at the NEC's 146th meeting, chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The Vice President emphasized that access to energy is a fundamental right and not a privilege, as electricity is essential for economic growth. He identified pressing issues requiring urgent attention, including energy infrastructure, human capital development, creative industries, fiscal strategy, industrial innovation, and long-term development planning.

The NEC observed that Nigeria needs a reformed and diversified electricity system, noting that by empowering states, accessibility and affordability of electricity can be enabled, ensuring that all regions effectively meet their specific energy needs. The committee's membership includes governors from Katsina, Gombe, Osun, Imo, and Plateau, as well as ministers and special advisers.

Vice President Shettima stressed the importance of Nigeria's creative industry, saying it presents an opportunity to redefine the nation's economic trajectory. He encouraged the Council to take the industry seriously, as it has the potential to generate revenue and create job opportunities for Nigerians. The Vice President also emphasized the need for a private-sector-led distributed renewable energy generation approach to increase electricity access for households and small enterprises.

The NEC also received updates on account balances, including the Excess Crude Account, Stabilization Account, and Natural Resources Account. The Council commended the management of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) and recognized the importance of the fund towards investment in critical sectors of the economy.

In another development, the NEC was briefed on the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZs) programme, currently being implemented in eight states. The programme aims to promote agricultural development and industrialization, and the NEC urged states to key into the programme.

The Council also directed the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) to repair tractors and other agricultural machinery across the country and scale up the establishment of lithium battery factories in regions rich in raw materials. NASENI's latest innovations and strategic initiatives, including products like solar irrigation pumps and electric vehicles, were showcased at the meeting.

The NEC's decision to establish a committee on National Electrification is a significant step towards addressing Nigeria's power grid challenges. The committee's work will be crucial in deepening states' engagement with the Electricity Reform Act 2023 and the National Electrification Strategy and Implementation Plan.

Ogun State Government's ₦10,000 Recruitment Fee Raises Questions About Job Accessibility

The Ogun State Government's recent decision to charge a ₦10,000 fee for civil service job application forms is deeply concerning. This practice, which has resurfaced from a similar situation in 2021, raises questions about the accessibility and fairness of the recruitment process. It is crucial for a government to consider the impact of such policies on its citizens, especially in times of economic difficulty.

In line with global developmental standard practices, equitable access to opportunities is a fundamental aspect of human development. By imposing a fee, the government inadvertently creates a barrier for many qualified individuals who may already be struggling financially. This approach contrasts with the ideals of inclusive governance, which should focus on removing obstacles to employment rather than introducing additional financial challenges.

Governance ideologies advocate for transparency and fairness in public service recruitment. A democratic government should ensure that opportunities for employment are accessible to all qualified candidates without financial barriers. By charging a fee, the Ogun State Government risks undermining these democratic principles and excluding those who are most in need of support.

The economic reality for many unemployed individuals is already challenging, and adding a ₦10,000 fee exacerbates their difficulties. It is essential for the government to adopt a more supportive approach that does not further strain the finances of job seekers. As a responsible administration, the Ogun State Government should seek alternative ways to address its funding needs without compromising the welfare of its citizens.

Given that the application portal closes today, we urge the government to extend the deadline to accommodate those who were unable to apply earlier due to financial constraints. Furthermore, the government should refund those who have already paid the fee.

We call on the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, to immediately reverse this policy. Instead, we suggest exploring alternative solutions such as: (1) using digital platforms to streamline the application process and reduce costs; (2) fostering partnerships with private sector organizations to share recruitment expenses; (3) creating a transparent funding mechanism for public service positions; and (4) enhancing the efficiency of existing state resources to support job creation efforts. These measures can help ensure that employment opportunities remain accessible to all without imposing undue financial burdens on the unemployed.

The severity of this development cannot be overstated. This policy risks putting the government in a bad light among the comity of progressive states and within the ranks of the Ogun Youth Constituency. As Ogun State seeks to consolidate its place as a leading Nigerian state in terms of good governance and human capital development, it is vital that policies reflect the values of inclusivity and fairness.

God bless Ogun State!

PCAI Condemns Corruption Allegations, Defends Hon. Tunji Ojo Against Baseless Accusations

In a recent press statement, the Progressive Change Agents Initiative (PCAI) has strongly condemned corruption and manipulation attempts surrounding the ongoing financial mismanagement investigation involving the suspended Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. Emphasizing the significance of upholding accountability and applauding honest governance, PCAI raised concerns over faceless attempts to mislead anti-graft agencies and falsely implicate Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo in the scandal.

The PCAI highlighted critical violations of Nigeria’s Financial Regulations 2009, shedding light on the legalities that prohibit public funds from being paid into private accounts. Expressing dismay at efforts to disrupt investigations, the organization urged thorough scrutiny and the recovery of any misappropriated national wealth.

The statement vehemently denounced unnamed elements seeking to drag Hon. Tunji-Ojo into the controversy without substantiated evidence. PCAI presented records proving his resignation from a company long before assuming office as Minister of Interior. This evidence contradicts claims that insinuate financial dealings between the minister and the suspended official.

Furthermore, the group underlined Hon. Tunji-Ojo's commendable achievements in office, citing his pivotal role in streamlining passport clearance, advocating fair compensations, and spearheading initiatives to decongest correctional facilities. These notable accomplishments earned him the esteemed title of "Public Service Person Of The Year 2023" by Leadership newspaper.

PCAI cautioned against undermining the anti-corruption stance and the transformative efforts of the present government by propagating unfounded allegations. It called upon security agencies to enforce constitutional measures against purveyors of false accusations and libel.

Yayi Extends Festive Cheer: Senator's Generosity Bathes Ogun in Joy

Ilaro, Ogun State, December 24, 2023.

As the Yuletide season casts its twinkling charm upon the nation, amidst whispers of economic hardship, Ogun State residents have found themselves basking in an unexpected glow of festive generosity. Senator Olamilekan Adeola Yayi, known popularly as "Yayi," has embarked on a massive distribution of foodstuffs and cash across the entire state, ensuring that joy will light up even the humblest homes this Christmas.

This act of magnanimity, transcending Senator Yayi's Ogun West senatorial district boundaries, echoes through the words of Comrade James Olanose, Coordinator of Yayi Students Vanguard, in a statement made available to newsmen in Ilaro. "In a season where the biting fangs of the economy threaten to steal the festive spirit," Olanose declares, "Senator Yayi has stepped forward with a shining beacon of hope, ensuring that no man, woman, or child in Ogun is left behind in the celebration of Christmas."

The Yayi Students Vanguard statement details the senator's extensive reach, highlighting truckloads of rice, bags of garri, gallons of cooking oil, and even crisp naira notes crisscrossing the length and breadth of the state. From Abeokuta, the state capital, to the remotest villages nestled in the lush greenery, Yayi's generosity has permeated every corner, painting smiles on faces etched with the anxieties of a challenging year.

"This is not just about food and cash," emphasizes Olanose. "It's about Senator Yayi recognizing the struggles of his people, understanding that the festive season can be a particularly brutal time for those already squeezed by economic hardship. It's about reminding everyone that, in the spirit of Christmas, compassion and kindness can still thrive, offering a helping hand and rekindling hope for a brighter tomorrow."

This act of philanthropy transcends mere political posturing. Yayi's gesture resonates with a profound understanding of the human condition, acknowledging that joy, especially during a season traditionally associated with celebration, should not be contingent on economic standing or geographical location.

The news of Yayi's generosity has swept through Ogun like a warm December breeze, bringing with it a renewed sense of community and solidarity. Social media platforms are ablaze with photos of jubilant recipients, tears of gratitude glistening in their eyes as they hold aloft bags of rice or clutch wads of naira notes. This outpouring of joy speaks volumes about the impact of Yayi's initiative, demonstrating the transformative power of compassion in the face of adversity.

Senator Yayi's act has sparked a conversation that extends far beyond the borders of Ogun State. It challenges us, as a nation, to consider the plight of the most vulnerable amongst us, reminding us that generosity, particularly during times of hardship, is not just a commendable act, but a vital thread in the fabric of a compassionate society. In a season where cynicism can grip hearts tighter than winter frost, Yayi has rekindled the flicker of hope, proving that even amidst economic gloom, humanity can bloom with the radiant colours of kindness and the unadulterated joy of giving.

As the festivities unfold across Ogun State, the aroma of Yayi's generosity will mingle with the scents of Christmas spices, adding an extra layer of warmth and cheer to the season. And the echoes of gratitude, emanating from homes across the state, will serve as a powerful testament to the fact that, even in the darkest of times, the light of human kindness can illuminate the path towards a brighter future.

Championing Students Welfarism and Quality Education: An Interview with NANS ZONE D PRO aspirant, Comrade Olufemi 'MVP' Owoeye.

Ogun State, Nigeria – June 1st, 2023 –

Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself, your background in student activism and why you are running for the position of Public Relations Officer for the National Association of Nigerian Students, Southwest (ZONE D)?

A: My name is Olufemi Owoeye, also known as MVP, and I am a student of the prestigious Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta. My journey in student activism started when I was in primary school, where I served as the Library Prefect. Since then, I have been actively involved in various student organizations and movements, advocating for the rights and welfare of Nigerian students. Most recently, I have been privileged to serve the entire MAPOLY students as Students Union Government Rt. Hon. Speaker before emerging as PRO, NANS Ogun Axis.

I am running for the position of Public Relations Officer because I believe that I have the required knowledge, skills, experience and passion necessary to effectively communicate the needs and concerns of Nigerian students to the government and other stakeholders. I am not just an activist and student leader, I am also a professional PR practitioner with various certifications and experiences.

Q: What do you consider to be the major issues affecting students' welfare in Nigeria, and how do you plan to address them if elected?

A: There are several critical issues affecting the welfare of Nigerian students, including poor funding of education, inadequate infrastructure, and the lack of access to basic amenities such as healthcare, electricity and housing. If elected, I plan to work with other stakeholders to advocate for increased funding for education, better infrastructure in our schools, and improved access to basic amenities.

Additionally, I believe that we need to address the issue of insecurity on our campuses. Nigerian students are increasingly becoming targets of kidnappers and other criminals, and this is a major threat to our safety and well-being. I will work with relevant authorities to ensure that our campuses are safe and secure for learning.

Q: How do you plan to improve the relationship between the government and Nigerian students?

A: One of the major challenges facing Nigerian students is the disconnect between the government and the student community. As Public Relations Officer, I will work to bridge this gap by engaging with government officials and policymakers on behalf of Nigerian students. I will also organize town hall meetings and other forums where students can directly interact with government officials and express their concerns.

Furthermore, I will work towards promoting transparency and accountability in the allocation of resources to our schools. Nigerian students deserve to know how their tuition and other fees are being used, and I will work to ensure that this information is readily available to them.

Q: With the current state of the Nigerian educational system, what areas do you think President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should focus on first?

A: Among others, our President must as a matter of urgency intervene in the areas of provision of modern educational facilities, curriculum review to align with current trends, and increased investment in teacher training and development. I also believe that the government needs to engage in public-private partnerships to provide scholarships and bursaries for indigent students.

Q: What are some of the innovative solutions you propose to improve the welfare of Nigerian students?

A: One of the innovative solutions I propose is the establishment of a student welfare fund that will provide financial support to students who are facing financial hardship. This fund will be supported by contributions from government, corporate organizations, and other stakeholders.

I also believe that we need to leverage technology to improve the delivery of education in Nigeria. By investing in e-learning platforms and other digital tools, we can make education more accessible and affordable for Nigerian students.

Finally, I believe that we need to promote entrepreneurship among Nigerian students. By providing training and support for student entrepreneurs, we can create a new generation of job creators and innovators who will contribute to the economic development of our country.

Q: What do you think sets you apart from other candidates running for this position?

A: Firstly, I am a certified PR executives with job experience at different organisations and establishments. I come with an advantage of practical knowledge and demonstratable skills.
Among other positions, I have been able to cut my teeth as SUG Speaker and NANS Ogun State PRO in addition to the valuable experience I gained while working with government officials, policymakers, and other stakeholders to advocate for the rights of students.

I also believe that my passion, experience, and commitment to the welfare of Nigerian students set me apart from other candidates.

Furthermore, I have a deep understanding of the challenges facing Nigerian students, having experienced many of these challenges firsthand. I have worked tirelessly to address these challenges and I am committed to continuing this work in the role of Public Relations Officer for all students in the Southwestern Nigeria region.

Finally, I believe that my innovative ideas and solutions for addressing the issues facing Nigerian students also set me apart from other candidates. I am not afraid to think outside the box and propose bold solutions that can make a real difference in the lives of Nigerian students.

Q: How do you plan to collaborate with other student leaders and organizations in the Southwest zone to achieve your goals?

A: Collaboration is key to achieving our goals as Nigerian students. If elected, I plan to work closely with other student leaders and organizations in the Southwest zone to develop and implement strategies that will promote the welfare of Nigerian students.

I will organize regular meetings and forums where we can share ideas and best practices, and I will work to build strong relationships with other student leaders and organizations in the zone. I will also encourage greater participation and engagement of students in the decision-making process, ensuring that their voices are heard and their concerns are addressed.

In addition, I will work with other student leaders and organizations to organize campaigns and movements that seek to promote the rights and welfare of Nigerian students. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of Nigerian students and ensure that their voices are heard at all levels of government and society.

Q:How do you plan to engage with the media to promote the interests of Nigerian students?

Answer: As a practicing broadcaster and PR executive myself, I fully appreciate the importance of the media in activism and beyond. If elected, I plan to engage with the media through regular press releases, press conferences, media appearances and other media platforms to promote the interests of Nigerian students. I will also work with the media to create awareness about issues affecting Nigerian students and advocate for policies and programs that promote their welfare and well-being.

Q: Finally, what message do you have for Nigerian students as they prepare to elect their leaders?

A: To my fellow Nigerian students, I say this: your voice matters, and your vote counts. As students, we have the power to shape the future of our country, and we must exercise that power by electing leaders who are committed to promoting our rights and welfare.

I am running for the position of Public Relations Officer because I believe that I have the passion, skills, and experience necessary to effectively communicate our needs and concerns to the government and other stakeholders. If elected, I will work tirelessly to promote the welfare of Nigerian students and ensure that our voices are heard and our rights are protected.

So I urge all Leaders, Cadres, Stakeholders and Senators to support and vote for me and other leaders who are committed to promoting the welfare of Nigerian students. Together, we can build a better future for ourselves and for our country. Thank you. Aluta Continua, Victoria Ascerta!
