Please guys, I want to confirm if the kids require paid transmission fee to get their passports?

We didn't pay for this because their mum did her biometrics in Lagos and had the whole package sent through DHL to VFS Lagos. I am now hearing that transmission fees ought to have been paid for the kids because they did not do biometrics.

We are yet to get acknowledgement from VFS for the whole delivery, so can we just make the payments and send via email to VFS? Or do we expect VFS to return it first or call us first? Mind you we only paid one way to VFS Lagos with the intention of picking it up when it is out.

Kindly advise!

Boss, you will pay the transmission fee for the kids - N16,540 each.
You and Madam will not pay that.
When paying the transmission fee, pay it individually so you can print the receipts and attach it to a particular kid documents.
- PPR letter for each of you.
- Passport photocopies for each of you.
- Biometric slips for yourself and Madam.
- Consent form signed by Madam for each passport since she is the main applicant.

Wow! this is a big oversight. I did not realise that every child will be required to pay transmission fee since they did not do Biometrics. The information is not even on their site.

Please how can one rectify this now? Should one make the payments and send via chat. Luckily, they are yet to acknowledge reciept of the delivery by the Courier company.

I have 3 kids with passport requests and i did not pay the transmission fees. Please what are my options? I was thinking since I did Biometrics in Lagos, we wont need to pay the transmission fees for all 4 of us. How do i correct this guys? please!

PPRs for the 2 Study Permits took 6 weeks from submission date while PPRs for WP and VV dropped a week later.

Just to put some clarity to IRCC process, if you submit an upfront medical along with your application, the medical/background and eligibility will all be processed simultaneously, though background check starts first.

There is dedicated team that reviews your medical, this team does not involve the VO handling your application. The team that reviews your medical, will either pass it or fail it and in some cases request for more tests, while these are going on, the VO is processing other things, like the background and eligibility checks.

So, an applicant's medical test might be passed by the review team, and they see it on their portal but subsequently fails eligibility checks which leads to refusal.

On the other hand, when your VO has completed your background and eligibility checks and passes you, they check if the applicant has medical results on their file, and if they see if they have passed medicals, if the medicals are passed, they then proceed to issue PPR, if they see there is no upfront medical on file, that is when they send a medical request to the applicant to go for medical examination. That is why 95% of those that get medical request eventually get PPR.

This is just to help us understand the process especially for those just starting the process.

Its clearer now. Are you saying the difference is basically on whether IRCC issues the medical request or if it was upfront medicals (done at the instance of the applicant)? in other words, once IRCC issues a Medical Request, it is almost certain that once that is updated to Pass, PPR follows. However, if an upfront Medicals done is updated to pass, there is no guaranty that PPR will follow. Is this your position ?

That's what i thought too, but you never know, with the surge in PPRs towards Fall, it might just be the new norm. I pray it's not though.

It took us 7 weeks in total from day of submission

Pick it up yesterday, if you can use courier it is better because of the waiting crowd but if you are not in a rush submit in person.

And plan to get it back 7to 8 weeks

7 weeks? . And I was making arrangements for 5 weeks max for the collection.

Those using courier have also been complaining of delays too.

I believe you have been given many responses once before.

Again, you should apply for SOWP now. If peradventure your visitor visa is approved, you will still need to apply for SOWP if you intend to work.

Do you know your family could become PR holders even before your wife graduates if you hold a SOWP?

You will need to state the tuition and indicate if you are going alone or will have accompanying dependants with you. Are you self sponspored or not?

So assuming you are going alone and self sponsored. You will be required to demonstrate POF as stated hereunder;

Tuition for Program for 2 years = CAD X
Living Expense for 2 years = CAD 20,000
Miscellaneous + Transport = CAD 3,000

Total POF should be about CAD (23,000 + X)

Bo positive brother. There's nothing wrong with your application yet, it is just 5 weeks and the processing time as indicated on their site is 6 weeks for this region. You may get all the updates on same day and even get your PPR before someone whose medical has been updated to pass already. So hang on!

I submitted mid May and Biometrics was done 25th May. Medical Request was 22nd June. So yours should be undergoing active processing by now. I would probably give it another 1 to 3 weeks max and you will be good to get your tickets.

Remember processing time for SOWP is about 19 weeks. So we are still lucky to be getting responses in less than 2 months. So don't panic. It shall end in praise.

Please declare the refusal. It will not mar your chances if you write your SOP well. It is your non declaration and they get to find out, that may cost you heavily. So just declare it and state why things and circumstances are different now.

JAMB is the authority of it's examinations, a court can't rule on this, tell me, what does JAMB have to gain by tarnishing the girl's scholarship, if they are not sure it's really fake, they won't say it is. Look at the month, jamb is consistent, the month always starts with capital letter.

I agree with you. However, they should have stopped at declaring the result as fake. Branding the girl a fraudster is the error I see because that can only be confirmed upon investigation by a neutral party. What if it's a system glitch? Glitches happen everywhere and even banks have had mishaps where customers accounts were randomly credited or even debited occasioned by system glitches. So it's not impossible for the database of JAMB to experience such. They should have cleared all doubts before coming up with that fraudster tag and going ahead with the punishments. Hence, the people threatening to sue may just be right.

What investigation? They checked their database and there is no such record on it. Simple and straight

Indeed, people can be stupid, as i earlier postulated that if indeed she manipulated the scores, then she's downright foolish to have awarded herself the highest score. But saying JAMB checked their database and concluded the girl was a fraudster was a right thing may not be correct. They can't be a judge in a case they are involved in. People have in the past reported having wrong or inconsistent details on their JAMB result slips. That could be as a result of system glitch which even the best of Telcos or Banks are not immuned to. Also, the girl may be a victim of some fraudulent middlemen which only investigations can unravel. For the sake of the integrity of the system, they should have simply called for an independent investigation rather than going ahead to dish out penalties and submitting conclusively that the girl is a fraudster. It will simply remain a case of my word against yours or buck passing which a big institution like JAMB should not be reduced to.

People have been doing it for years and you’ll always see those fraudsters doing it advertising it to students after you leave the Jamb center and etc.

The thing that spoil the game for the girl is the QR code. You can easily edit any document online with lot of websites but you can never edit a QR code.

Even if you try converting a scores to a QR code, it will never point to Jamb website or source when you get it scanned so that gave the girl off.

Normally I would have said Jamb should overlook this, but the girl trying to deny this mean she is a potential hardened criminal and her people have started spoiling JAMB reputation.

JAMB should arrest her, make her confess who help her do the editing, then jail the people that edited her result. As for the girl, they should just free her because it’s evident some people talked her into this nonsense, so far she is remorse and cooperating with the authorities.

It's amazing how you already concluded based on JAMB's position. Whatever happened to waiting for a thorough investigation to be done? Meanwhile, why would someone want to forge the highest score? It surely makes no sense, because it will be easily discovered. It's either the perpetrators are downright foolish or it's clearly a glitch. In anycase, JAMB erred by rushing to the public like a market woman to brandish the girl a fraudster without thorough investigations. Hence, subsequent actions will be seen as working to justify an already prejudiced position.

Please when can an SOWP applicant with medical request yet to be updated to pass start getting worried? 2 of the accompanying kids already got their PPR same day since last week and the last kid's medical updated to pass same day as the previous 2 is yet to get PPR.

I don't know how this will sound to IRCC. What's the story in her SOP? Did she use you guys as home ties? In anycase, it does not really matter if she did. If I were you, I would simply apply for SOWP and VV stating you have decided to be together while she studies. I don't think IRCC will think too much of that so long as adequate POF and other related documents are in place.

If the lump sum has been there for 5 months, why not just present statement for the last 4 months and you won't have to explain the lump sum as it will not be seen. Well, you can leave it though, if you really have to show it to prove a point and you are sure you have supporting documents with watertight explanation for it.

@Accessed, I hold the belief that you do not support or endorse this approach because it can be misleading. The IRCC explicitly outlines the requirements for dependents, and it is important to adhere to those guidelines.

Boss, I clearly indicated the view I hold. I only gave out an extra information I have, seeing the direction the enquiry was tilting to. Anyways, note that the quote "that Minimum funds needed to support yourself as a student (and family members who come with you)" from the IRCC might also be interpreted to mean that the provision only applies to students applying to come with their families as against applying alone, then getting the spouse and kids to apply later.

However, for clarity, I still hold the same views as yours that the minimum requirements be demonstrated whether or not the application is for a lone SOWP applicant or SOWP in family.
