Guys i need help with passport collection.

VFS tracker indicates that Passports are ready for collection in Abuja since August 14th. However, the Biometrics and submissions were done in Lagos. The response on Chat is just to go to where we submitted, but there's no collection slip for Lagos to even allow entry into the building. The last notices from VFS on our mail were on August 10th when we were told the passports had been dispatched from IRCC to VAC Abuja.

Please what do you guys advise? Do we just go to Lagos and explain without the collection slip?

Note LOIs have since been updated on the Portal since Aug 11th.

Hello good people, does anyone have an idea on how I could get a driver's license extract? Someone needs it before traveling to Canada.

You can do it from Nigeria if you are still in Nigeria. It might be cheaper depending on your plug.

You can also do it in Canada though if your time of travel is close.

Please I noticed LOI on the portal for the SOWP application for Spouse and Study Permit applications for the older kids but no LOI for the Visit Visa application for the youngest kid who's just 1 year old. Please is it normal that VV applications don't get LOI? Others got LOIs except for the infant. Kindly advise before I start firing webforms ooo.

Hello house, I submitted my application on 20th May 2023 and uptill now my tracker is showing eligibility and background check are under review, Have sent several mails and web form to Canadian embassies and I got a response yesterday that I should excercise patient that they are still reviewing my documents, they also acknowledge that they have exceeded the review time stated on their website due to volume of work they are attending to..
Do I need to stop the sending mails and web form or I should continue?

I don't think you should worry much about that especially eligibility. sometimes, it continues even beyond PPR until Passport Collection. In your case they have even acknowledged their delay. Maybe you should just give them some time before resuming the bombardment.

All the best!

Don't be surprised, majority of these people do not even get anything from these bad leaders but are just satisfied to be blindly following them for remotely being affiliated with them either by tribe, religion or any other sentiment that has benefitted us nothing.

The masses are told to tighten their belts but the leaders can loosen theirs'. It is unfortunate. We deserve the kind of leaders we have.

Thnk you. I got the notif that my daughters Passport was at IRCC yesterday, also got the notif for Lagos pickup that same yesterday. It didn't take 3 days

Congrats!

I want to believe most of these notifications are autogenerated which may be a function of network flunctuation

I also got same notification for my folks' passports today.

Most important thing is your passports will be ready for collection soon. At this juncture, I guess it's safe for you to now buy your tickets for any September date.

Meanwhile, is there any implication for not going for passport collection at VFS after one month of notice? Passport owner is busy and out of town till month end. So he feels the passport is safer with VFS than having someone pick it for him?

Thanks brother! Points well noted and taken.

I believe this will assuage the minds of those currently enrolled in schools such as this that are not eligible for PGWP. Inotherwords, it is not the end of the world for them, moreso, there are clearly ways out of it. However, I am sure you will also agree that potential international students should be advised to rather consider PGWP eligible DLIs rather than these ones.

The guy to whom this is referenced has already clarified himself and even gone ahead to apologize for the erroneous fraudulent label he attached to the school. so let's not overflog the issue and just properly guide one another from making the same mistakes others made from ignorance, overzealousness or outright desperation.

XtraordinaryGen:

Good day everyone.

I'll like to address this issue and I hope it should end this debate once & for all. I'm making this comment as someone who is not affiliated to Can College in anyway. So don't assume Can College is paying me to defend them.

1. There are numerous if not thousands of DLIs in Canada who do not offer PGWP eligible programs...of which Can College is one of them. If you conduct a thorough research, you will discover that PGWP eligible schools are majorly community/public schools with some select private schools. The Government of Canada have a reason why they did this. This doesn't mean that schools which do not offer PGWP programs are inferior to those who offer PGWP eligible programs. Once a school has obtained it's DLI status, it means the school's facility and manpower has been verified by Canadian authorities and as such you cannot say such a school is a scam.
This is just like saying a University approved by NUC in Nigeria is a scam. Whether the University is a Federal University, State or Private University...so long as the regulatory body which is NUC has approved it, such a school is 100% genuine.

2. PGWP is not a job offer neither is it automatic route to getting Permanent Residency. PGWP is just a work permit just like a study permit which allows an international student who has completed his/her studies in Canada, to remain in the country (ie: maintain a legal status) and search for jobs / work.
If you are enrolled in a school which does not offer PGWP eligible programs and you get a job before you graduate, you can comfortably apply for your work permit (closed work permit) and remain in Canada.
If after your studies you don't yet have a full time job, you can apply to another school or even in that your same school and extend your study permit and IRCC will approve it. You will continue staying in Canada till you get a full time job offer.
You even still have an option of changing DLI when you arrive Canada to a school that offers PGWP eligible programs if you wish.

3. When applying for your Permanent Residency, whether you schooled in a DLI that offered PGWP eligible programs or you didn't, it won't count!
I will advise everyone to take their time and carefully study IRCC website and know everything therein. Once you have completed a one year study or more than one year in a DLI (whether PGWP or not), you'll get your score for Canadian education on the CRS.
There are international students in Canada, who have stayed more than 5years and have still not gotten their Permanent Residency. Whereas there are some that entered Canada as students and in less than 1yr, got their PR.
I know a guy who currently has his PGWP but hasn't yet gotten a job. He is still applying for jobs as at today.
I believe the aim of everybody in this forum going to Canada via this study route is hopefully to become Permanent Residents and then get their Citizenship thereafter.
I repeat::: Studying in a DLI which offers PGWP eligible programs or studying in one which does not offer PGWP eligible programs HAS NOTHING TO CONTRIBUTE towards acquiring your Permanent Residency through Express Entry. However, some Provinces will insist on PGWP programs if you're applying for Provincial Nominations in their Provinces. But on the general Express Entry Pool, PGWP or no PGWP do not count. Factors such as age, education in your home country, work experience, IELTS, TEF, job offer etc are what will determine your getting your Permanent Residency.

4. Just like in Nigeria, Private colleges in Canada are expected to make money for themselves which they use in running their colleges... however, Government can still send them allocations as a form of support. So therefore, do not blame Can College or any other private college in Canada that you see running social media adverts to get students. It is more like a business for them. If they don't get students, their institutions will likely fold. So therefore they need yearly intakes to be able to conveniently run their colleges. Whether they make their admission process as easy as ABC...or whether they reduce their school fees to become 10,000naira does not mean they are fraudulent. Canadian Government know they are existing, they know everything going on in such private colleges, yet they haven't shut down those schools. Do you think you are wiser than the Canadian Government?

5. People who gain admission in these private colleges which don't offer PGWP programs successfully get their Visas, travel and make it. Whether you're admitted in a PGWP eligible programs or not does not in any way affect your visa application. Once it's a DLI, it's a DLI.
Visa success rates rely basically on how to arrange your supporting documents.

In summary, what you're not exposed to, don't come out and talk about it like a PRO. There are many routes to achieve one's goals in life. That you achieved yours through a particular way, does not mean that is the only way of achieving that thing.

Finally, I haven't heard of a Nigerian school defrauding a student... Talk more of a Canadian school defrauding a student. I know Nigeria as our country with it's high rate of corruption has made us to be so so sensitive that at the slightest chance, we may attribute something to be a scam, when it's actually not.

Scams exist in Canada no doubt, but they are perpetrated mostly by individuals not by organizations such as schools. So, I would advise everyone to desist from calling any school in Canada a scam unless you have evidence of them defrauding you.

I hope with this little insight this constant fight about PGWP schools and Non-PGWP schools can stop.

Thanks.

Thank you. I am yet to get confirmation thats jts with IRCC. The last email i got from Vfs Was a week ago and it was that it was in transit to IRCC. The whole process is so slow. I wish i paid transmission fee to Abuja.

The story is not any better for those that paid for transmission to Abuja. Infact, it appears worse going by the recent trend, hence, people started advising to go through Lagos. Something seems to be wrong with their logistics really. It might also not be unconnected with the volume of PPRs churned out lately, especially since someone who recently collected said they were almost 400 on the queue for collection on the day he went. Anyways, I still believe that 2 weeks plus or minus 1 week from the date you got notification that your passport has been dispatched to IRCC office will be a safe gamble to base your projection for collection on.

Good evening.
Please I submitted my passport for stamping since July 13 and I keep receiving the same message that it has been received at ircc office. Since then nothing is there any cause to be worried

When did you get the acknowledgement from VFS and what date did you get the notification of dispatch to IRCC Office from VFS Abuja? those are the important details and not exactly when you submitted.

Earlier on, i read where someone who submitted on 12th July narrated what he went through to collect his passport. So the more important date is not when you submitted.

I think you can book your ticket, especially modifiable ones and just give an ample time and allowance. Given that you submitted July 21st and have received confirmation that it has been sent to IRCC, any day in September should be okay. Remember flight cost will not freeze for you!

Oops...Sorry about the rejection.

I think they should just reapply with a letter explaining the oversight (non-disclosure of previous US Visa Application refusal) and then ensure you attach all documents to prove you are a student such as updated LOA, Enrolment Letter, ID Card, Study Permit, SIN and Evidence of Course Registration. SOWP Visas are usually the sweetest and easiest. So do not be discouraged. Just repackage and reapply. Thankfully, the response time is averagely a month now.

Please kindly advice on what to do
Dear .................,
Thank you for your interest in working in Canada. After careful review of your work permit
application and supporting documentation under the International Mobility Program, I have
determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee
Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing
your application on the following grounds:
• You do not qualify under the IMP as you provided insufficient information to demonstrate
that your spouse is a full-time student in a qualifying program at a DLI in Canada. Refused under
R205(c)(ii).
• I am not satisfied that you have truthfully answered all questions in the documents you
have submitted in support of your application, as required by subsection 16(1) of the IRPA.
Specifically, I am not satisfied that the following information is truthful: You have answered "NO"
to statutory question 2(b). You have failed to disclose previous US visa refusal in statutory
questions.
... 2
To get help with understanding your temporary resident application refusal and what you can do
next, visit: https://www.cic.gc.ca/visit-visiter/en/refusal-visa-application.

Next Steps:
• If you decide to apply again, know that:
○ your new application will be assessed on its own merits,
○ you must resubmit a new application and all relevant supporting documents and pay
a new temporary resident application fee, and
○ your new application may be refused unless it is supported by new or different
information that would satisfy the officer that you meet all application requirements.

PPR ALERT!!

I have been a silent reader for over 1 month now, but today I want to share my Testimony.

My husband submitted his study permit application on the 26th of June 2023. We did it ourselves, no agent used.

Upfront medical was done like a week earlier

We fired up prayers, and BELIEVED GOD for a miracle. We were trusting God for a quick processing time and of course PPR😀

Yesterday, 26th of July, biometric updated to completed

Today, 27 th of July around 3pm PPR came and about 1hr later the biometric letter followed💃🏽

We serve a faithful God, and prayer does change things.
My total timeline took 1 month. Exactly 1 month, no extra day.
I' ll be back with a bigger testimony for me and my kids when we apply
I wish everyone believing God for God's mercy, speed, and Grace

Congrats! May the Land favour you.

Is Nigeria not a joke to you? Imagine the fate of the whole country down to 2 men. To think a man with that much weight of corruption hanging on his neck is being considered for the party chairmanship says a lot about the party.

What is wrong with releasing the ministerial list in batches? so that the core ministries can have a headway immediately. No proper direction yet, with the hardship in the land.

The same people that were credited with saying any serious government will have its cabinet in a month are struggling to name a minister in 2 months, despite the groanings and economic hardship in the land.
