OkukuOne:Sometimes, we just want to have the gurus at our beck and call...no be our fault. Just bear with us! ![]() |
pristinee:It is advisable to atleast demonstrate availability of 4K for spouse and 3k for any other accompanying dependant. Although, i have seen an instance where the spouse alone applied for SOWP without POF and it was approved. Infact the agent that treated the application insisted there was no need for the POF because by the very purpose of SOWP which is the applicant coming to work to support the student or family. However, to be on the safe side, i will still advise that you demonstrate the 4k living expense. |
GoldenCrown1160:Thank you |
OkukuOne:Ok...thank you! |
Hello Gurus, Please what do you do when an upfront medical done and sent via webform had been acknowledged by IRCC over 2 weeks ago, yet you get a medical request from same IRCC later? Is it just to resend via webform or contact IOM? or send mails to all known IRCC addresses? or a combination of all the above? ![]() Please it's urgent. |
Princessmay11:Maybe you should try to call them or chat them online and see if they can give you some concession. I am aware they offer VIP services at a cost though. So you may want to check that out. |
Ultimaate:Your required POF would be Tuition : (35,500 - 1000) = 34,500 Living Exp 10,000 * 2 years= 20,000 Miscellaneous and Trans. = 5,000 Total will be about CAD 59,500 which @ 345 = N20.5M POF appears alright and It is okay if your mum is fully and solely sponsoring you as her child, however, you need to show her source of income and demonstrate that she will have enough funds left after sponsoring you because she and your siblings (if any) will not cease to exist because you are off to school. If she's using all she has, like you said that she sold properties, you should demonstrate that there are still so many assets she still has if the account does not have much again. Otherwise the VO will not accept it as a reasonable expense. You also need to address the other things you listed there. It is important you proof she is your mum, by attaching your birth certificate and maybe pictures. Also, you would need to demonstrate career progression. Explain how biochemistry relates to the new course you are enrolling for. Like I stated earlier, your GCMS notes will clearly point out the VOs concern. Sorry once again and quickly do the needful so you can refire. Note that rates have gone up now when reapplying. |
macdeeza:I wonder if anyone can give you a definite response because it's a strange situation we are all confronted with. However, i'm curious as to what you intend doing with the response? Are you thinking of boosting the POF and sending via webform? how do you explain the lumpsum because indeed it will be a lumpsum payment since you talked about half of the previous POF. or you want to support with additional sponsor and account. What happens if the rate continues to slide and also swallow up the new addition? will you get a third account?? My guess will be to treat based on the rate on application day. Sincerely, we need to start seeing new PPRs to get an idea how IRCC is treating the situation. It will also be interesting to hear the views of our IRCC accredited gurus in the house ![]() |
OkukuOne:Exactly and that was the case because the husband applied immediately she landed in Canada. Hence, she did not have a job at the time. Like you said...It's a big risk! |
adelejane:Congratulations! Do not worry, it will drop soon. You can send the webform to remind them as someone earlier suggested. Meanwhile, when did you apply? Drop timeline to encourage your people! ![]() |
Ultimaate:Truth is the GCMS note is what can reveal the VO's exact concerns. We can only attempt to hazard a guess from our individual experiences, but that should not replace the GCMS except if you are in a hurry to reapply. In which case you need to provide more details so that @Zubi and others can really assist. Details like duration of your program, the Tuition, how much you paid, How you proved relationship with sponsor, How long you been working? did you explain why she is fully sponsoring you? what is she left with her after sponsoring? etc. Another issue was the purpose, which means you probably did not prove career progression, the reasonableness of the expense and so on. Summary...try to get GCMS to avoid the guess work. |
ATTAHDYE:Haba! Calm down now...Sure it doesn't look good but you can't conclude that it would lead to a ban or a denial. Indeed, chargeback is not necessarily an evidence of hanky panky. It could be an error. Imagine that you get debited twice for the same service. Upon complaint, most bank will lodge the 2 debits because it may be difficult to tell which of them was successful and which went through. Hence both may be reversed and then a counter chargeback might be initiated for the transaction to be reinitiated or the merchant just notifies you like IRCC are doing in this case for you to repay. So the man should respond to IRCC and tell them if it was an error or a glitch. However, this does not also mean that what you were insinuating about being a stolen card is impossible, but making a sweeping comment like that might be unfair to the agent especially if he's really innocent and might scare the applicant to death. Ban ke....Abeg o!! |
OkukuOne:I even stumbled on someone saying that her hubby applied for SOWP without POF and got approval. She said she was also doubting it but her agent insisted that they trust him, and they decided to risk it. She said the agent told her that since the applicant was coming to work, IRCC would not so much bother about POF. I was stunned too but i guess the rationale would be that the hubby applied alone without accompanying kids so it might not be same as applying with kids. Mind you, the kids had gone ahead with her, so hubby just applied alone after they touched down. However, i still think it's a risk to do that. What do you guys think? |
Willie3040:Sorry for the refusal! However, you have not really shared enough information to enable people offer the help you will need. All i can say for now is that you request for your GCMS notes immediately, so you can frontally address the issues in your reapplication. Thankfully, on the average, reapplications get faster approvals, so you may still be in time to make the resumption date. But on the surface, having a monthly income of N200K and posting a balance of N72M will require enough documentation to fly. How long have you been working and earning that? How much was the sold property? Did you tidy up documentation for the property? Did you have lumpsums in the accounts (besides the property sales) that were not properly explained? What was the opening balance for the duration you presented to IRCC? Were these issues clearly explained in your SOP? All these information make or mar the "POF issues" we often see. Just arrange for the GCMS notes immediately so that you don't refire blank. Cheer up! You will be fine. |
fk001:There's so far PR can take the masses. Let the praise singers continue to pretend that all is well. The purchasing power of Nigerians is by far at its lowest rung. Most of these policies are ill-timed. Little or no palliatives to cushion the effects on the masses. I really hope to be proven wrong, but Unifying the FX rate now is more calamitous than beneficial. It's like doing the right thing at the wrong time. You can't subject the naira to free market forces without ensuring we have a fair dollar supply over demand. Worst case scenerio, wait till the refineries take off, so that our dollar demand will reduce. So long as the demand for dollar continues to exceed the supply...we are on a jolly long ride. Truth is most of us know it...but we are not ready to "hit him below the belt" because he's our own. |
segzyndpep:Sorry brother...It is really sad. Don't give up, just a little more work on the POF and you are there. It has affected everybody. Even some of us with outstanding applications are waiting with bated breath to see how they respond. School fees payment is also there waiting on one corner. It is well with us. |
golor:Sure, you can walk in and may or may not be attended to that same day, but you will atleast be given appointment to come on a closer day than if you book from home. |
idirect:Why would you do that? what if you move to another job or get terminated (God Forbid), how will you then be able to maintain correspondence with IRCC. A Reference letter from the ministry is enough to identify you as a staff there. They can confirm it if they have their doubts. |
Dessymond394:Stay positive and don't beat yourself yet, especially when it's still all conjectures for now. It will end in praise! |
Kobojunkiee:What law and agreements are you going on about now boss? What are you going to sue the pastor for? Has he not accepted to continue the scholarship elsewhere, due to the FX situation? It was just a gesture to help the boys and "condition" has now changed, yet he has accepted to move them to other schools and you still want his head for that. Haba! How many times have you sued your government that has failed you severally despite the huge taxes you pay? Things like this make offering help to people difficult. I agree that the Pastor might have made most of the attention then, but don't forget that most Nigerians were sympathetic with the guys over the manner they were sacked, and he tried to turn around their fortune by sending them abroad. Yeah, it was wrong to have initially abandoned them if that was even true, but he has reached out. Truth is if the guys had also conducted themselves well, i trust that by now, Nigerians would have rallied round to raise their outstanding school fees and more, but seeing their line of action, nobody is willing to tow that line for them. Well, maybe people like you can rise up tomorrow and set up gofundme for them, so we can see how many people share your line of thought! However, I condemn the pastor for cursing them. They are just kids and what is that adage in Yoruba about "kids smearing their hands with eba abi na eko". |
Mackie1:Well, No one is sure about what IRCC will do concerning POF and the new rates. But I shudder to think that our steep fall in naira could very well be interpreted as a 'Drastic Change'. Unfortunately, as @Showyoung guessed, I'm afraid they may decide to adopt the rate as at day of review over application date which appears logical although unfair to applicants who apparently based their projections on the old rates. Indeed, it will be inhuman to reject applications made before June 14th solely on the basis of insufficiency of the POF (at the new rate) especially if opportunity is not given for an updated statement to atleast match the current rate. Maybe, we can be proactive and start sending updated statements to match new rates via webform? Heavy lumpsum wahala!I reckon that the fair thing to do is to treat applications before June 14th based on the old rates and the current applications on the new rates. Hopefully, they reason along this line! Another issue is the wide variation in the daily rates. It was N485 to 1 CAD on the 15th, then N451 to 1 CAD on the 16th. Maybe an average over a period is what they will adopt if the range continues to be this wide. |
kweje:This rate indicates N485 to 1CAD for Jun 15th. That's a jump from N349 it indicated on the 14th. Also, Oanda jumped to N379 to 1 CAD from the N349 the previous day. I hope IRCC will not expect applicants to start using these figures as the basis for computing POF. |
DREAMHILS:I think you can just notify IRCC of the issue. However, like someone already said, it will be easily corrected from within Canada. So when you come in, you call IRCC and they will correct it easily. He needs to act immediately he comes in because some employers consider the duration on the work permit for job offering. All the best! |
technix:Infact at this rate that it seems IRCC has entered sleep mode again, it is better to just do family application if the POF is sufficient. But the effect of this FX unification on POF is another matter that will start haunting Japarians now . Anyway, this thread has been inactive because IRCC has really slowed down. IRCC share PPRs please. |
olabisi6438:I looked at the rates and they are close to what Oanda published too. A lot of us have been using Oanda with no issue, so i'd rather quote Oanda rate as my source and state the figure i see which can be confirmed by the VO if they choose to verify. However, with this FX Unification thing that is still hazy, I do not know how it will play out later. |
jaydave:We might see reduction in Japa via study routes with this FX unification issue now! Not good news to foreign students at all!! |
Zane2point4:I do not think the problem was mentioning the relations she has in Canada. The truth is, most of these IMM forms we fill already carry these details. Don't forget that her sister might have listed her in her own application for PR and when she was travelling too. I feel the only snag in her application was mentioning her sister as a co-sponsor when she already had a good balance in her hubby's account, which could have been sufficient for them as self sponsors. Also stating she would stay with her sister was unnecessary, I guess the agent thought it would strengthen her application alas it weakened it. I think she should not waste time seeking JR, rather get GCMS and if she cant wait for that, refire and only limit her mention to the IMM forms. |
Chechem:I wish you could be clearer with your own situation and why everybody did not think you had a chance. If your wife was in Canada and you were applying to join her, why would it be an impossible situation? If you don't mind, please share atleast for learning sake. Thank God it ended in praise for you. |
OkukuOne:Boss, No be willingness in most cases...Na condition. ![]() |
angie88:Please how do you know from the tracker if the application is going to be approved or rejected? |
Army2022:Without checking, i knew the guy was making a mistake. How can first semester alone be 10K and the whole 2-year programme be 17k. Doesn't add up at all. Niagara college for that matter, a school in Ontario! I even doubt if you can get a regular 2-year program in an Ontario college for less than 20k. I believe one might though, but will be quite scarce. |
