There are cases where the seller flashes global rom, and then lock the boatloader after flashing it. Example was the Note 4x - Though it came with global rom, the boatloader of some were locked, and none got bricked while trying to update via OTA.

Xiaomi implemented this 2nd half of last year, so the redmi note 4 phones were exempted

YES, i worked on someone's redmi 6 pro some weeks ago, same issue, had to get someone with authorized account for edl flashing before i could get the phone to working state. Safest bet if u want to tinker with roms or if u not sure u have real/shop rom is to unlock bootloader and have a mi account bounded to the phone

The competition is getting tougher, the better it is for we consumers though, Availability outside india and Development for the oppo realme will be the challenge, redmi note 7/pro has advantage in this aspect. All in all, the end users get more options.

Meizu Note 9 is giving redmi note 7 pro a good run for its money, apart from the not expandable storage though

it was lagging, maybe due to the number of installed apps network is very stable, wifi strength is a bit weak compared to the pocophone I use now. Difference is like dsy and night

not really, a 6gb phone without proper memory optimization will perform worse than a 3gb phone. The Lenovo k5 pro i had was 4gb, redmi note 5 4gb keeps more apps in memory than it. My friend's own with 6gb also has the same issue. Paper specs hardly matter these days. The only positive thing about the Lenovo was the stable gcam,

I think apart from the notification wahala due to the large notch (the ir face unlock is great though) the pocophone is fast, camera is really great even without gcam, poco is money well spent shout out to noobody for the cheap $$$ also

I was in this dilemma some weeks ago Just went with the poco phone instead, at abt $300 for 6gb 128gb, it was a no brainer. There are people who prefer aesthetics to performance, the redmi note 7 pro will be just fine for them, In the end, there is something for everyone
