Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4 by AceMiss: 11:32am On Apr 24, 2016
nefertitiram:

Ah ah! Them harsh o! That's very unusual. In my time, I arrived in April, my visa expired in August, I was stamped in for 6mths!

Nefertitiram, turns out you were right all along. So, I checked my i-94 info online and discovered I've been admitted until Oct (6 months as against the 3 months I posted). I thought it was 3 months cos on the stamp "admitted until" had "VOID" written on it (so I assumed I was admitted until my visa becomes void which is in 3 months.
Nothing about my trip has changed except for the little "education"...#goesbacktowatchingtv

Thanks for this info. Please I am travelling to Denver, Colorado, is it possible for me to fly airkair since it lands in NY, and besides, I told the VO I was going to Colorado. Will I not encounter issues at the POE if I end up in NY through Arik ?
Thanks

This was exactly what happened to me last year, during the interview I said I was going to Chicago(the VO even asked if I was going direct to Chicago and I said YES) but when purchasing my ticket my travel agent routed it in a way that I arrived in New York but departure to Lagos was from Chicago. But to be truthful I was grilled a bit(i travelled with two friends and they were through in like 10 seconds but I stayed longer),mind you I wasn't asked why I changed to new york(maybe cos my ticket showed Chicago as my departure port).
I don't think you'd have issues but just have a good explanation ready. All the best

Thank Justwise but are you saying that she can put in an application for just herself and there won't be any issues? Won't they be curious why she's not going on vacation with her kids?

Justwise and all the gurus in the house,i need your opinion on something. My sister is thinking of applying for a UK visa(first application),she earns close to 200k(after all deductions) with quarterly payments and has two kids and works with a reputable organisation. My question: is it adviceable to put in an application for just her(without the kids) or should she put an application for the three of them with that salary without including any doc from the husband cos he's not available. Which is the better option? Awaiting your answer

Travel / Re: Funny Things First Time Travelers Do Abroad by AceMiss: 1:11pm On Mar 09, 2015
I remember my first time in London, stayed in Premier lnn close to Heathrow for the night(my cousin was to pick me the next morning),when it got dark I decided to have dinner in their restuarant. As I sat down,a waitress came over with the menu(that was where the wahala started),I looked menu up and down for almost 20minutes,I couldn't find something I could eat. I shall saw one meal with "pasta" in it so I picked it thinking that with my spaghetti and macarroni eating skills I should be able to handle that. That was how the waitress brought a meal containing olive oil, half cooked pasta, fresh leaves and cheese(I tried one spoon and ended up being sick for 2 days)

Hmmm, interesting opinions(except "nickusoro" which wasn't an opinion at all). Its true that one is attracted to what one sees but it gets "sickening" when some guys walk around with stereotypes in their heads at to who a fine girl is.

Fees have been paid and semesters second week in january. What is your advice, should she re-apply? will the pending immigrant application always stand in the way? Kindly advice
Travel / Re: Usa Visit Visa by AceMiss: 3:25pm On Oct 24, 2014
Yes,my interview was in Lagos. Got there early and was like "wow" when i saw the crowd(its my first US application). I noticed the guy in one of the booths kept refusing people and i secretly prayed that my number will not be directed there but alas that was exactly what happened. I was there for like 3 hours and he only granted four people before me. The interview went thus:

VO: where do you work?
Me: i work at so so so so

VO: what do you do
Me: i told him

VO: do you have your complimentary card?
Me: no but i have a copy of my satff ID(i gave it to him),i also have my offer of employment

VO: no,i need to see that. we have seen a lot of fake around
me: ok

VO: its going to be really cold in Chicago by November (travel date in my form)
me: all my previous trips have been in cold periods too so i'll cope (he was like "ok"wink

VO: do you intend to visit any other state in the US?
me: No

VO: so you are going straight to Chicago?
me: yes

VO: do you know anyone in the US
me: yes,my friend

VO: whats her name?
me: i told him (looked down and did some typing)

VO: ok,your visa is approved(hands me the white paper),pick it up on so so so and enjoy your trip
me: thank you

Well,Mr Vicjustice I apologise for bothering you with my trivial and irrelevant question.Going forward,I will ensure my questions are directed to the right people. But I still believe you need to be educated on how to talk to people, nothing gives you the license to speak to people in such a manner especially when you don't know who's on the other side.

Justwise will NEVER give a response like that. Just because we ask for advice and opinions doesn't mean you should be rude in your responses. Always remember that nobody know it all,not even you.

Hello Justwise and other gurus,i got an email yesterday morning from the British high commission in Lagos with the following message "your visa has now been processed and is ready for collection. We aim to return passports to the visa application centre where you lodged your application within 2 working days". I just checked VFS' tracking portal but it is still showing "your application has been forwarded to the british high commission for processsing". Do i wait for the alert to come in(or the status on their tracking portal to change) or should i just go at the end of 2 working days(that would be tomorrow). Kindly advice as usual. Thank you

Justwise,VicJustice and all the gurus in the house I need to hear from you concerning my case. I submitted my application for renewal of my UK visa on the 3rd of Sept at Ikeja but I have not heard from them yet. Am particularly concerned because I will be going to US on official assignment on the 24th of Sept(ticket purchased and accomodation taken care of by my epmloyer). I went ahead with the application based on experiences with previous applications they were always out in 12-14 days. I am really hoping my passport will be out before that date. What do you advice me to do gurus.....really worried.

Hello Justwise and other gurus in the house. Please i desperately need you help. I just paid for my visa application and submitted it,my appointment has been confirmed and i have printed all relevant documents needed for submission on Wednesday. I was going through my printed application and that was when i realized i had made a mistake on the expiration date of my last visa(i put 23 May 2014 instead of 23 Feb 2014). Kindly advice me house on what can be done to rectify this mistake considering the fact that the application has been submitted and my appointment is on Wednesday (3rd Sept) and i can not re apply for later because i will be unavailable from Friday(5th Sept). Please help me my people,i need help fast.

Hello Tzetz(please complete the rest) and other gurus in the house,I do have a question for you. A friend just got a US visa issued recently and one of the question asked at the interview was if he will be visiting any other state in the US apart from Maryland that was stated in his application and he answered "NO". Now,he is planning to travel but intends to visit newyork and chicago. Is he going to have problems at the POE and with subsequent application(he intends to be truthful when asked about it). Please what do you think
