Nigeria is an interesting place where people try to outrun their own shadows. If Bello is innocent, then he should go ahead and prove his innocence in the court of law. Ah! I forgot, there's no judicial system left in Nigeria because it has been corrupted and weakened by the same politicians. |

Politics / Re: LASG Meets Community Over Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road Project by achinu(m): 5:07pm On Apr 06 |
In my opinion, this makes no sense. Nigeria is already spending over a $1 billion dollars to build a railway line to Niger republic that has absolutely no economic value to Nigeria in terms of trade. Here we go again with another project that in the long term will probably yield zero economic value/ ROI but instead will destroy existing businesses/ communities along the areas of its construction that already have economic value in the name of building a coastal highway. Nigerians truly deserves its leaders and the economic hardship its facing based on the set of leaders it chooses elects. Listened to the minister of power' press conference yesterday where he scolded Nigerians for being wasteful because they leave their freezers and air-conditioners running, all I could think was how farked Nigeria is to have an abundance of inept people ruling over it.. But no, Nigerians are too blinded by tribal and religious sentiments to understand that they're all getting farked the same way because suffering and insecurity doesn't differentiate by tribe or religion.. I hail thee Nigeria.!! 1 Like |
Politics / Re: 31 States Owe CBN N340bn Bailout Funds by achinu(m): 5:10pm On Mar 24 |
Most of the states that exist in Nigeria need to be scrapped because they are resource drain. There is absolutely zero incentive to have these states because they do not have any IGR to sustain them besides the federal government monthly allocation and these state governors just sit around doing nothing waiting for their federal allocations which are completely squandered. The FGN is so bloated, it's only a matter of time before the entire system implodes because you cannot continue to borrow to sustain a poorly ran government. Nigeria's problem isn't resources, but poor leadership and until Nigerians become brutally honest with themselves beyond tribe and religion the collective lot with continue to suffer. |
Phones / Re: US Sues Apple In Landmark iPhone Monopoly Lawsuit by achinu(m): 11:02pm On Mar 21 |
Having only iOS and Android as the only two major dominant smartphone OS has actually hurt innovation and consumers suffer! We should never have ended up with a 2 horse OS race. Go read up on palm OS and Symbian OS, Windows Mobile, BlackBerry etc. I'm not in anyway blaming Apple or Google for their dominance, just stating facts based on my industry experience and what I witnessed first hand. In the USA, the mobile phone carriers actually contributed to dominance of both Apple & Android OS by heavily subsiding the price of the devices in exchange for a service contract with the consumers. When there's isn't any competition, innovation suffers and companies can charge absurd prices for little. 1 Like |

Romance / Re: SA Girl States Why She Is Terribly "In Love" With Nigerian Men (video) by achinu(m): 2:40pm On Aug 08, 2023 |
I beg to differ that the only reason SA women date Nigerian men are for financial gains. While I personally have never dated a SA lady, I have dated a wide range of women mostly non - Nigerian. One of the things I have been told consistently by non Nigerian ladies, latina, White, West Indian, African American is that you Nigerian men exude a certain level of confidence and self assuredness which they are very attracted to. No cap, I've been invited to parties by some of my east African lady friends and I can tell you from my experience that their east African men always act insecure once they know that I am Nigerian. Guess that Nigerian swagger is just too crispy!! 😋 Nigerian men do not lack in confidence, money or no money, it's just innately in us and women across the world love us for this. 💯 Sure, Nigerian men are all about their business. Good, bad or indifferent, but the non Nigerian ladies love that added security knowing that their Nigerian men handles his business even with all the BS that may come with him. 1 Like |

Konquest: Abiola benefitted immensely financially from the same military government you blame for the demise of his business. He was an oligarch, the same way Putin deals with the Russian billionaires when they get out of line or the way China dealt with Jack Ma when he became too outspoken was the same way the Nigerian military government dealt with MKO. Do some research and you will find out that MKO's business empire was built on the back of corruption & cronyism, that was the reason FELA made the song ITT (International Thief Thief) he was taking a jab at the multinational companies that were exploiting Africa at the time & MKO was the ITT business representative for Africa at that time if memory serves me correctly. This info is out in the public domain if you search. |

CheapHomes1: I believe that question has been addressed based on the non existence of the his businesses today. Fyi, succession plans go beyond family members, that's the reason you've a lot businesses in the west that have been around long after their founder's have passed away. |
Business / Re: Why Do Some Successful Businesses Fold Up After The Demise Of The CEO? by achinu(m): 6:17pm On Jan 11, 2023 |
Simple answer All business that have continued to exist/ succeed beyond their founder/s was because they had "A Succession Plan" in place. 3 Likes |

Is this any different from the current AG or CBN Governor participating in partisan politics while still serving out their current terms in office, which is a huge conflict. Did the same SSS make any moves to question them? Not in support of the CJN or anyone, but what is good for the goose should be good for the gander! Nigeria never ceases to amaze me 2 Likes |

Politics / Re: The Cost Of Servicing Nigeria’s Debt Exceeding Revenue Worrisome - Atiku by achinu(m): 3:20pm On Jul 23, 2022 |
Nigeria spends over 80% of its annual budget allocation running the government!!! I This is both ludacris and asinine on so many levels. No country can survive like that indefinitely. The FGN borrows money to fund its budget because of revenue shortfalls, this means Nigeria is spending more money than it's bringing in. If the FGN was a company, it would be a very bad investment to put your money into because of how poorly it is being ran. Gosh how can a country have so much unrealized potential?! |
