How exactly? Was your $700 in your luggage which the guy helped you with or on your person?

I don't know what they did to the meter thing that made me see 227$. From the airport to Manhattan. I was furious, but needed to get going. Gave him 300,only for him to return it,saying I gave him 3$. I couldn't do anything, I gave him another 300$. He came down to help bring out my luggage. When I stepped out of the car, my waist bag dropped in his car. He picked it,asking me to put it in my box, before bad guys snatch it. Acting all nice asking me to take care of my health.
I had 400$ inside an envelope stuck in the bag. The ID!OT took the money.

I got to the hotel only to realise all that's happened.

Hello guys,I got into the US about a week ago.
It was a long stressful flight. I fell sick a day before my trip. Couldn't cancel cos I thought I could manage it,.I regret not cancelling. . Emirates is cool, but I thought Airbus 380 were meant to be spacious. Jeez! The leg room isn't spacious enough. Aircraft filled up,e remain make they sell toilet seat. I was restless from Dubai to NY. Maybe cos I was sick.

I expected so many questions, but got few. I observed all of them, saw a very tired looking guy and joined his queue .

Here;
Cbp ,, What do you do and why are you here?
Me,, I am a civil servant and i also run a **** company, and im here For business (told him the business I came for)
Cbp,, How much you got for it?
Me,, I have 7k$
Cbp,, But that's not enough money for the business
Me,, I got my credit card here . (For my mind 'You dey crase,How much you get?')
Cbp,, Where would you be staying?
Me,,mentioned the hotel.

Handed me my passport, and said ,'welcome to America '

I went to pick my luggage. A guy helped me drag it out the roller, cos I couldn't. I was really sick and dizzy.

Guess what? I got duped of my hard earned 700$ by a Pakistani or Indian motherfvckers. ,can't tell. My heart is burning as I write this. This only happened because I was sick and didn't know what was going on. Open your eyes, guys. Humanity is fvcked. Bad guys everywhere.

I think New York is over hyped.I spent 3 nights instead of the planned 1,cos I needed to recover.

Meanwhile, before I return to Naija, i will get my stolen money back from this America . I shall WORK .Thunder fire them!

A Yoruba guy is not under any pressure to build a house in the village

A Hausa guy does not even give a Bleep (on average)

But am Igbo guy

The gbese on his head is too much

I once followed my Igbo friend to his village in Anambra. Dude,I was blown away by the beautiful duplexes, tarred roads(built by the rich, from what he told me ) and street lights. The road network is far better than what's in the 'cities .'

It was at that point I understood why my friend's hussles are triple of mine. Igbos are competitive in nature. But I'm yet to understand why one would build beautiful, well furnished mansion, and visit once or twice (e no dey pass 12 days per stay sef)a year.
Una people dey try. The pressure no be here.

Bro why pay for seat when you can do it free 48 hours to boarding? unless your travel date is near because free seat selection will be available 48 hours before boarding and it's free of charge.
Secondly, if your flight is not on thursday, friday and saturday you will surely get a window seat from Abuja to Dubai but not sure about Dubai to U.S, You can pay for seat on your Dubai to U.S leg.
I was actually trying to buy only for Dubai to NY. Almost all the correct seats are gone.
I have given up though. I go manage anyone I get 48hrs before boarding.
Thanks to you and @OmoBendel

Alphanumeric kwa? Thought that should be during booking via telephone.

Well, Abuja airport code is actually ABV as stated by Seye....

But for more possibilities, have the below in mind;

A - Alpha
B - Bravo
U - Uniform
J - Juliet
A - Alpha

or

A - Alpha
B - Bravo
V - Victor
Thanks baba.
Na to make payment dem dey ask to fill my address, but city in alphanumeric. I actually tried ABUJA, which didn't work. Let me get back to it before better seats finish.

First of all... your city is ABV and you can only hold your seat for 48 hrs for a fee after which you may lose it, if you don't pay within 48hrs..
Emirates website is very easy to use.
Oh ok. Thank you.

Meanwhile, na wah for Emirates, they don sell seats finish. Very few comfy seats left. I thought I was to book for free 48 hours before departure. I guess it's cos it's on promo, abi na their usual.

Well, your do know perspectives differ. When I was denied, I was really upset cos all I wanted was to follow my mom to a UN conference. After I got it and traveled, it really became just a visa just like the otherspp I had.
Look @abnot. Even though I teased him, he had a valid point. He'd been to a lovely country like Germany and seen things that people his age hadn't. To him, the US was just another fine country but with a different language.
It depends on the premium you place on a thing. That's what gives it value. Imagine if everyone stopped going to the US and suddenly decided Estonia is the real cool? Nwanne folks would start referring to US visa as ordinary o!
But the ice cream idea no bad o! How Accra today?
I love your mind, and I like you.
Blessings!

I have been denied twice in my life, but I have a US visa now.
First was a UK visa, six years ago. I was very young. I cried and said I was never gon try again. I got my mind off visiting any western country.
Second time was in January. US denied me in Abj. I felt so bad, my chest pained me for days cos I was very confident I'd get it.A lady friend advised me to try again .

I decided to give it one last try. Same info. Same purpose, but a more confident me. I went with an open mind." If this fails , I count my loss and go home ''. In all honesty, I didn't hope this time. I was blown away when my visa was approved . This life ehn. Sometimes, when we lose faith, the unexpected happens . I don't know if it's luck or the way it's been designed to happen.
*my 2nd interview was in lag*

You can try again, guys.

Hello good people. Please any suggestions on how to move from JFK to DFW? Since flight will arrive JFK about 7pm at night. Are there late night flights to DFW? Or I have to wait till next day morning? Do I go to LaGuardia ? Please any suggestions as to how to go about this? Already got ticket for NY but need to get to Dallas instead. Please good people help me figure this out as I'm considering my finances too. Thank you.
Just type 'evening flights from JFK to DFW' on Google.
I'm in same scenario, but will have to spend the night in NYC. Hotels don't come cheap there. I wish I could leave same night, but I want to tour New York

With dreads, there's always a misrepresention of your actual persona .
If not for how stringent they are these days the right thing will be to cut it off, but even doing so in this new era will not guarantee ones visa approval.

If you must go with the dreads.. Look clean and responsible, it's quite difficult to do so in dreads.

It's in your best interest to cut it off bro.
You can't eat your cake and still have it.
I have long dreads (the right word I like to use is locs. There is nothing dreadful about that hair style) , and I got my visa.
Oyibo no send you.
But if you don't feel comfortable with it, cut em off.

Well I don't see any issue with that except the cloth you're traveling with is too much.... Are the cloth for sale? if yes it's very risky because it's illegal to work or earn money while in U.S on a visit visa.
The clothes are not for sale, bro. I wouldn't risk that. They are my personal clothes.
Thanks

Abeg, my people, I have more questions.
I have two boxes I want to travel with (a hand luggage and a bigger box. They are light and contain just clothes and novels). I am hearing it'd raise a red flag since I would be spending only 2 weeks .

I don't understand why this would be an issue. Please,Someone should enlighten this JJC. Thanks.

SAMSUNG Note 2 for 5 years.
It's never been faulty. The only thing now is the picture quality, not as sharp as these recent smart phones.

I want to go for Note 8 now. The only reason I am changing is cos I need a phone with a very sharp camera.

I'm currently in the same situation as well. Booked online too but with Emirates directly in their site. I have a 9hrs layover. Went to Emirates office and they said no hotel provided becos there was a shorter layover option during my booking (I didnt even notice). By the way the option that i picked was the cheapest at time of booking. Best thing is to look for hotels around the airport (requires visa fee etc) or book a hotel INSIDE the airport. Check on bookings.com
I will just have to book a hotel then. Thank you.
We know not to make same mistake next time . I don learn.

The fact that there is a shorter connecting flight within that time frame may make you ineligible for the offer.

The link below will answer all your questions regarding the layover arrangement.

https://www.emirates.com/ae/english/before-you-fly/dubai-international-airport/dubai-connect-conditions.aspx

Also, below is the specific part of the T&C that explains your eligibility or otherwise for "Dubai Connect"

Eligibility

You must meet the following eligibility criteria to qualify for the ‘Dubai Connect’ offer:

Minimum connecting time for Economy Class passengers
The connection time between inbound flight arrival into Dubai and the outbound flight departure from Dubai must be more than or equal to eight hours and less than or equal to 24 hours. The passenger must be booked on the best available connection, that being the one with the shortest transit time in Dubai, between the inbound flight into Dubai and the outbound flight from Dubai, to qualify for the ‘Dubai Connect’ offer.

Minimum connecting time for First Class and Business Class passengers
The connection time between inbound flight arrival into Dubai and outbound flight departure from Dubai must be more than or equal to six hours and less than or equal to 24 hours. The passenger must be booked on the best available connection, that being the one with the shortest transit time in Dubai, between the inbound flight into Dubai and the outbound flight from Dubai, to qualify for the ‘Dubai Connect’ offer.

Hope this helps.
Thanks, it does.

Yeah, correct. But then, unless things have changed lately, they don't take responsibility for over 8hrs stopover that wasn't caused by unavailability of stopover of lesser times on their portal as at the TIME OF BOOKING THE FLIGHT. the availability of that 4hrs stopover may just be some sort of undoing at the end of the day if it was there as at the time you booked the flight.

You know longer stopover tickets are mostly cheaper than shorter ones? I remember a friend I made at the hotel they lodged me in did pay for his visa, accommodation and feeding because he had this issue and couldn't just imagine the possibility of himself remaining at the airport for over 23hrs. Hopefully they have fixed this shortcoming, it affected passengers badly that period with loads of complaint accompanying....
Thanks for this info. Na wah o! I wish I made enquiries before booking. It's all good.
