what is the rationale behind your thoughts? If it is because you have a personal beef with dangote, then I can understand. But I will like you to factor in the benefits Nigerians would get from dangote taking his stock from Nigeria, it means cheaper crude which results to cheaper fuel and that is what we need right now in Nigeria. Cheaper energy or let's say less expensive energy material will drop down inflation and also reduce the pressure on FX. Had this terrible experience while travelling from pH to Onitsha, we were lucky the driver is an experienced person for calling on us the passengers to keep talking to him to stop him from sleeping off on steering. He complained of tiredness as a result of driving throughout the night only to jump onto steering the next morning just to meet up cus the car is not his own.

honestly the driver shouldn't be driving. Because he wanted to meet up isn't an excuse. Driving takes up a lot of energy, dont drive when tired.

Obviously someone must have paid him to do this. They should declare a 24hours curfew on Kano and use the time to fish out those hell bent on truncating democracy and peace in Nigeria. This is madness. We have been preaching peaceful protests and this is what we get. Government should not allow things to go out of hands. The Kano state government should be pro active.

It's even worse on Nairaland as pro-govt paid-agents infiltrated any thread to amplify such thread and peddle various trope against protest, often times ridiculing us and the suffering of Nigerians. So, fuelling most violent protest is govts callousness to shoot at protesters. If police shoots at protesters, then there's no more rule of engagement or civility. That becomes a free for all as primal emotion against injustice will take over

Violent protest is bottled up anger against insensitivity or callousness of govt as well as perceived injustice, oppression and resistance of govt.....in such scenario, u cant tell a protester how he expresses that anger.

If protest has to be violent especially by destroying govt property, so be it, if it will get the needed attention. It took govt institutions to be burnt down in Kenya before their govt took them serious.
So Nigerians shouldn't play into govt book that protest should be cordoned off in a venue , that it shouldn't involve blocking of roads, or vandalizing govt property. This is the rule of protest everywhere in the world when people protest against suffering and oppression. Otherwise govt will never take us serious.

After reading all the comments here so far, I can conclude that the protest will not give desirable results. Look at the division amongst the youth. Yoruba versus igbo and South East versus South South. This protest is dead on arrival. The number one ingredient for a successful protest is unity and we lack this. I even heard that Igbos are not protesting, so tell me, is this really a protest?

honestly you are very correct, the same energy used to want to protest and protest should also be used to devise means of identifying unscrupulous elements that may want to hijack the protest to turn it to something else. The process should not only involve identifying negative elements but also the next line of action to be taken once such people are identified. In this way, lifes, properties and calm can be achieved.

people going to protest should do it in a peaceful manner and should be wary of those that might want to hijack the protest. Those organising this protest should also have a mechanism of handling people that may want to hijack the process so we don't have chaos at the end of the day.
