Fellow Nigerians, pls just try to do this the right way. it's hard but do it the right way so that you don't regret it when you're settled down in cannyland and then one employer starts probing your certs or something. Cos even in Nigeria, my employer sent (without employees' knowledge) to our universities to verify our certificate & they forwarded our transcripts to them so pls just be straight so GOD can bless your path. that's my advice |

oh wow. sigh. So can we call BC UK to find out that it was really sent for remark with them? Hephgirl: If u requested for eor... And want it actually remarked call British Council... I mean their UK number. These Nigerian guys don't remark nada... They just pick a selected few. From that I understand they have days they send the results for remarking. If those batch leaves ... The others will be "marked" or shld I say "reposted" here..... U just get ur result reuploaded. |

thank you so much dear for this! vickyehi: Well my comparison of both is as follows; Speaking: Ielts speaking is more comfortable for me because you are talking to an examiner and most times their face gives u a form of reassurance that u are on point and the discussion doesnt feel abstract. Celpip is 100% computer based so its like they place the scene on the screen and the computer gives u a prompt to answer the quest by saying ...."start talking now" . When you time is up it tell u to stop same way but u can see the timer on the screen. If u are shy talking directly to someone then celpip ie better for u. Personally I preferred the ielts in this category. Listening Difference is that u completely hear the entire conversation before you see your questions in celpip. Ielts u can be noting answers as the tape is playing cos u are with the questions. I preferred ielts style but I think celpip was easier. Reading Celpip reading is crazy easy IMO. Problem is you have to read fast because once the time allocated for a section is over, the computer automatically changes to the next section. You also cannot carry the time over in any section throughout the exam but you can run out of time. The topics are much easier than ielts reading topics and structure. Writing Celpip offers you a word count and spell check as part of its perks but it doesnt correct structure or grammar. If you like to type then celpip would be better for u. I kinda preferred ielts writing because I feel more comfortable writing an essay with my pen. (Something about my biro gives me ideas )
Anyways this is my personal opinion from my experience. Also note that the ielts that shaped this analysis was the academic version. |

The only way to find out is for him to just apply for it but I would strongly advise that he applies for it from Nigeria to err on the side of caution. Compu001: So UK authorities may not give him PCC even if he apply from Nigeria?? |

Let him remember he has to get Police Clearance Certificate from UK for the Canada thing. So best he comes back & applies for that from here and prays. Compu001: I understand that path. But yet, I want to be sure if the Canadian immigration will not capitalize on his abuse. He has overstayed for 3years |

Expresso17: Hello House,
Okay i am just getting ready to write IELTS, waiting on WES to complete verification too as they have received my transcript, but I like to plan ahead to avoid delays. Has anyone done PCC in the UK but now lives in Nigeria, can i start the process now and does it expire? (I lived there within the last 10 years but now live in Nigeria), I read this on their site "The Standard and Premium service fees include 1st class postage to a UK address or standard airmail to an overseas address"--- It takes 10 days if i pay standard fees, Did the 10 days include postage to Nigeria? If not, how long did it take?
The other option will be to send to a friend in the UK who will send to Nigeria for me when someone is coming, what do you advise? I did and they stuck to time. It was issued in about 10 working days and I received it 3 weeks later in Lagos via NIPOST. I paid for standard processing even though I was tempted to pay for the expedited one. but UK really does it when they say they will so that's great. |
