The whole dragnet recruitment process was cancelled. A fresh one was conducted. Its rather unfortunate that as big as MTN, a gold-star IIP holder, they could notl inform those who were invited for the interview that the process has been terminated; kept them waiting hopelessly without any feedback or information. Such a shame. |

D-Day 12-12-2017 Fingers crossed. |
I hope they pay next week as promised by victor Ndoma. https://twitter.com/NDDC_Class2017/status/939048385176326144 |
viewingthistopic:Right!! If we don't act and act now, believe me nothing will be done. I am of the opinion that are lots of options on the table and being violent or disruptive is not ruled out. In the country, the gentle ones don't get attention and the violent ones get all attention. I can bet you, the total number of persons making us pass through untold hardship are not up to 200 and head-to-heelad, they are not match for the total number of scholars by academic qualifications and gross mental output. It is now up to us to chart our course, if we must b free. Like rightly said, it's been cancelled and they have analysed our state of calm and concluded that we cannot do anything but they militants who threatened to blow up the pipelines got immediate attention even from the Federal lawmakers. The moral of the story is that if we don't come out or issue serious threats with grievous consequences should they suspend the 2017 list, they won't act. We are being treated this way because they feel we are too educated to be violent. But I must tell us that we are in a better position and have the best comparative advantage to cause serious economic harm to this nation should the govt suspend the program. If we have a clear cut objective and work together as à team, I bet you, the govt will yield to our demands. It is now in our court to either make or break the situation. If we don't act, they will not act, just as they have not acted by leaving the list there. But if we act, they will act by attending to the list. I do not think if 200 persons match on the street of PH to the NDDC Office , Nsima Ekere will not come out. Even the president at aso rock will be informed of our presence by the DSS. By them we will tell them why we are there. God will not come down to fight this battle for us unless do something about it. The ball is now in our court whether to act or to let it go. Good evening my comrades!! |
They may be coming home very soon if nothing is done. But we can prolong their stay there if we do something and that is by our collective outcry and protest to the NDDC and the federal government. |
Very unfortunate that Nigerians will be subjected to this in foreign lands by our own citizens back home https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/10/100-nigerian-students-face-deportation-uk-debts/ |
The Vice president is currently in the UK. For those in the UK, can anything be done to capture his attention there? I mean in terms of your living conditions as a result of NDDC. |
mildred8:First phase was organised by dragnet. The next phase was a test conducted by MTN |
The truth is....when pushed to the wall, people no longer give a damn about what happens. Even if the list is released today, some dreams already have been killed by virtue of the delay. I am not and will not be afraid to loose my award letter in order to ensure that justice is done. We must kick against injustice wherever it occurs; no matter who is involved. Why we clamour for the prompt release of the list, we must also not forget to fight for our comrades who are the currently being neglected by the inhuman and insensitive beviours of the NDDC. It should be noted that they aren't doing us any favour by placing us on this program; its our rights and we must never be on our knees in demanding for it. Nsima Ekere is being irresponsive to the plight of the scholars both prospective and those currently studying. We must let the world know this, we must shout out loud. Take it to the world in whatever way you can, phone calls, twitter, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp. Copy whoever you feel will amplify our situation until it gets to them. We have been patient enough and in this country, the patient dog dies. Ke Sera is no longer Sera....whatever will be will only be when we work and act towards it. Let's go get it. |

dsaynt:You are right. Someone went for a test yesterday for one of the advertised positions. |
otunbaa:Non at the moment. |
rychard:CRO self service and E-channels |
rychard:I did the simulation test in July, got another test invite last week which I did and then the next day, I got an invite for an interview this Thursday. We may just be patient and hopeful, everything will fall into place. |
yuceeh:He didn't say 'concluded'. He said "almost concluded". It means the ones that are yet to be conducted are a part of what is left before it will be concluded. Its just simple English. The doubt that 50% of the openings are yet to be filled, should be cleared immediately; interviews and tests are going on on daily basis and in different MTNN locations everyday of the working week. This is not to make us give up in our expectations but to come to terms with the facts. |
endymarc:Another simulation test was conducted on 21st for applicants, though not everybody was invited. At was conducted at MTN apapa office. |
Ogoli:On the erecruter portal. |
Ifexabc:No. |

Nigerdcritics:We have to do make them do things right this time around. If we fail, the status quo will be maintained and they will treat us like they have been handling past batches. This will embolden their effrontery to treat subsequent scholars the same way. We have to draw a line both for us, past ones and create a soft landing for oncoming batches. |
Nigerdcritics:Imagine! I am sure some other scholars are unwilling to come out because of the fear victimization or denial of allowance. Its going to be a different ball game this time around. We are gathered here today, not because we are illiterates but because we are graduates/scholars and we must not allow these people to ride on our collective intelligence by virtue of the harsh economic situation in the country. We are Niger deltans and we hold what keeps this country moving. All options are on the table and if Nsima Ekere won't listen to us, we will not hesitate to involve Mr president and the vice president in this. By then,he should tell us if lack of funds is the reasons he allowed Nigerians are stranded to be stranded in foreign lands; our best brains for that matter. Enough of the nonsense! |
Please do we have any 2015 or 2016 scholars in the house who hasn't been attended to? |
BLESSMME:Things will be different this time. Everything lies in our hands. |
Chigojude:Alright. Expecting the notification. |
Chigojude:Excellent. I have discussed with some other members, we have set up the @NDDC_class2017 twitter handle. We are also following the twitter handles of the 2015 and 2016 scholars. We understand that Nsima Ekere, the NDDC, the ministry of Niger delta and ndoma are all very active on twitter. As from Monday next week, we will start engaging them. We have to engage them out of their silence on the matter. Someone needs to tell us what is happening. This time will not be the same. We have to operate by a different set of rules now and if we don't set these terms before leaving Nigeria, they will maintain the status quo on us. It is time for us to shout it out! and if we don't do it, no one, not even dettol will do it for us. It is up to us to chart the course of our future. Twitter Engagement is next week Monday. @Nddc_class2017 Publications will follow subsequently. |
viewingthistopic:$31bn. Just imagine. If this is how the NDDC is has been doing it, we will make sure they do it differently this time and they must attend to all outstandings including those of 2015 and 16. If we do not draw the red line now, it will form a trend which of course is a bad habit. Its really sad to get fellow scholars stranded in another man's land. |
viewingthistopic:Everything must be completed, well crafted before leaving the shores of this country. While we are in total solidarity with previous scholars who are yet to be paid, we must ensure that such doesn't occur in the 2017 batch. Again as from next week, all these will be well crafted and passed across to the house. We must let them know how things are done, with best practices factored in. We are scholars and this gives us a comparative advantage at the level of common sense over them. Knowledge will forever govern ignorance. |
Uwemy:People are willing to be patient when they are being carried along or kept in the know. If we don't correct the misbehavior of the NDDC now while still in Nigeria, then time to come, we will be begging them from a foreign land. Then it will become difficult for anyone to hear you when you scream. |
More to come as from next week. Plans have been mapped to be deployed as from next week. In this country, the patient dog dies. Since they are not coming to us, we are going to them. adayola: |
NDDC 2015 scholars write Buhari https://www.naij.com/1124328-opinion-please-dont-lose-studentship-nddc-2015-foreign-students-beg-buhari.html |
shophut:Take it easy, everyone is here for the same cause. So no need hitting on those who went to other groups. It doesn't mean they have deactivated their nairaland accounts. The situation that NDDC has placed the applicants, calls for concern and one really needs to restrategise. Again, let's be hopeful and thats the most important thing right now. We are almost there. |
