I am a November mom (Edd 13th).
I developed a little problem since last week Saturday.
After making love with my husband, I got up to a pool of blood which soaked our bed sheets and immediately went to see the Dr.
The Dr said I have a low lying placenta, hence the bleeding. I was placed on strict bed rest With so many drugs to stop any form of contraction.
I have been on bed rest since then but the bleeding wouldn't stop.
In fact, it seems to be getting worse especially when I wake up in the morning. This morning's episode filled three pads within 2hrs. The Drs are planning to tranfuse me (if Hb drops) and keep me in the hospital till baby comes.
Baby is doing fine BTW.
I'm just 26 weeks and still have a long way to go.
I have cried, prayed and kept to Dr's orders.
I don't know what to do anymore but wait.
Pls mamas remember me in your prayers. I really need it. Thank you mamas.

team October, I'm out of the race,I went for my normal antenatal yesterday and the doctor couldn't find my baby's heartbeat and I was sent for scan and the scan IUFD,I was Induced yesterday by 9pm and I gave birth to my baby girl sleeping by 4:30pm

Might be due to sluggish return of blood from the lower extremities, and the swelling should reduce when when pop up ur feet on a pillow or a small stool.
But if it is sudden u need to go to the hospital, as pre-elcampsia also causes swelling, which is accompanied by high BP and presence of protein in ur urine

hmmm....this is a complex question. Nobody can fire you because you're pregnant, that is discrimination and if you can successfully prove it at the Industrial courts you can hammer money

However you need to be careful, employment is "at will" (you cannot force an unwilling employee on an employer and vice versa) and so if you have documented evidence of non performance or any other thing that can stand as an appropriate basis to fire you, there's no way to prove discrimination. My advice to you will be to do your job and do everything to be on top of all tasks, make sure any absences (for antenatal or pregnancy related illnesses) are properly backed by medical reports or whatever is applicable in your company policy.
