Romance › Re: Why Are Nigerian Men Romantically Challenged? by adconline(m): 4:24am On Oct 05, 2006
Yesterday, it was Nigerian men's infidelity; today it’s their unromantic nature. Would it be suffice to say that most naija  women in Diaspora are facially and sexually challenged? NO.  Your first encounter with some of them would leave you asking where some of them were born. They will frown and pretend not to know what you want to do. They will be first to tell you that Naija men are not interested in them. Some of them cannot date a Non-Nigerian, white. AA's yet they still find out time to think that Naija  men behave alike. Naija men have leapfrogged. I think some Naija women are culturally held down than their male counterparts. Most still think that money is more important than romance in their own context. Or that they can have it both ways. Na lie

Romance › Re: His Girlfriend Has Grown Too Fat For Him to Marry by adconline(m): 5:29pm On Oct 03, 2006
Nothing is wrong with this man; he wants his woman to know his intentions. Most times women don’t get it that there is something special that draws you to a woman, when that thing is gone, men may look elsewhere. Just like women don’t just fall in love, it must always have a reason, may be his looks, career, personality, mannerism, success, charisma and lots more. In most cases, women don’t settle for any how  guy and men should not either.

Women have their priorities straight when it comes into a relationship, I will not date  a non graduate, a short guy, a jobless guy, a guy who has an accent, a guy  who is not financially stable, a guy who does not have a car, a guy who does not have his own place etc.  And when a man says, I don’t like my girlfriend because she is gaining a lot of weight, and when I met her, she was slim and tender, now she is big.  We say lets crucify him for saying his mind.

Bottom line, the same way you would dump a guy for not picking up the tab when its really his responsibility is the same you should get dumped for getting fat and listening only to yourself. Let us be less selfish and more responsive and it shall be well with us.

Why are we  so overflocking this issue? So a man cannot  have a feeling for someone who is overseas? But a woman can love a man who is overseas.  How often do you hear girls in diaspora  talk about  marrying  someone who is in Naija? I know what we want, all-ready made product? Its not going to happen. We believe that  we are better than everyone in Naija.

I also notice that men are more  victim of this than females, just  that some of us are so much obsessed with living in diaspora. My friends  brought their fiancees from Naija and got dumped, they did not die, one in particular let her boyfriend  in naija impregnant her before leaving Naija and finally brought him over.

Bottom line,  the young can be genuine, so  give it  a try and u  stand nothing to lose, besides most naija  guys in diaspora are more concerned with hitting big than settling for a life partner. Marriage in the west, is becoming unattractive to most young men.

Good luck

@ Kiki nah d boy just want an American girl who go bring him come America.
No  be somebody wey  go bring someone?  Why must it  be men? Men dont see this as an issue. They go home go marry and their wives go come here  and leave them. It  does   not matter  to men so  long as  there is "love" as understood by men.

Baby which formula or pick up line did he use on you that you are now falling for him. I would like to  see those powerful words.

Family › Re: Please Help, My Wife Wants To Leave Me by adconline(m): 3:43pm On Sep 15, 2006
Boy u have really screwed things up.

1. Come clean with your wife with regard to your previous relationship with your unknown e-friends. Faithfully explain it the way it happened. No reasons why you did that. ( Biblically, if Adam had admitted his wrong-doing before God, he would have been given a lighter punishment- not Eve deceived me to do it)
2.Does your wife have a member of her family whom she confides in? If so, the person might hold the key.  U have to faithfully explain it the way it happened to the third party.
3. Do you have a member of your family whom you can confidently talk to and also has the respect of your wife?  This person might hold the key.
4 Your wife must have access to all your emails and phone records (NB: delete all the ones that might escalate the situation before you do that)
5. I do not know your faith or spirituality, I would advise you to talk to a religious authority in your place of worship whom you can confide in.
6. You have to work out the way of your salvation, since you blew the trust, you must work to earn it again, because it’s not what you get but earn.
7. STOP further argument with her, because if you did not do it, you will not be in this situation. Take a condescending role in your house, like Bill Clinton did during his Monica Lewinsky’s palaver. He was the president but was forced to sleep on a couch as contrition for his sins.
8. You have boxed yourself to a tight corner, because men are endangered species when it comes to marriage, talks like men are dogs and unfaithful will always pop up in her mind.
9. Lastly, convince her to attend a marriage counseling with you.

Follow these steps and it shall be well with you, but remember to sin no more, because if you do, they will surely find out.
Romance › Re: My Boyfriend Hasn't Asked Me To Marry Him by adconline(m): 4:47am On Sep 14, 2006
Marriage is not a walk-in walk-out situation.
Ponder on these facts.

15months X 15months X6months= 56.25 years.  Do you want to be stuck with this guy for 56 years + (Assumption based on a perfect marriage)

You have just been with him for 15 months and think it’s going to be rosy all the time. He's not going to continually treat you the way he’s doing right now once you are married to him. You are going to see a 50% change in his behaviour one he has won your heart. Right now, he can drop his bad habits, friends and family to get you, but can't continue to do so.

Most guys are not desperate to get married. See how men think.  Guaranteed source of income, job, and career. -- blossoming relationship- settling down.- getting married and having  a family.
If he does not have a guaranteed source of income, most likely, he will not be thinking of marriage.
If his friends have better paying jobs, cars, and houses etc. he will strive to match up to them. If his friends have better education, he will try to reach up to their level.  A married man doesn’t necessarily fascinate guys, but someone who is very successful in terms of job, career, and achievement. Marriage comes up in a discussion, if a guy has all these and is still single and searching.

Think of all these facts and tell me your opinion

Why do most girls think  that guys are  always ready for marriage? When u get into a rerelationship , take time to study the guy's position. Guys dont JUST get married OK. You have to connect the dots. How to make  a family, quit bachelorhood, your family and friends.
Given our cultural background, its the man who  shelters the woman. He directly or indirectly becomes a member of   his wife's family . He has to be financial and emotionally stable.  Its every guy's dream to have a super-duper wedding
NB; Guys cannot be pressurized into marriage. Its a number one turn off for guys.

Christianity Etc › Re: How Do Our Pastors Earn So Much Money? by adconline(m): 6:48am On Sep 03, 2006
Nigerian Churches are very detached from their congregation. They believe in the new world that is about to come. They preach  to you that  you will  drive an S-Class Benz even though you  have never had a bike in your life. What kind of prosperity is this?. They never talk about bad government believing that God will choose a leader for us .  They want to appear rich so that their gullible minded followers will believe them. Religion is the opium of the poor.
I am happy  I dont sheepishly follow pastors.  I wonder if they have acount books. Who does their acount auditing? Nobody, its not bound to be fair and  transparent
Politics › Your Views on Black Think Tank Hosted By Tavis Smiley by adconline(op): 6:58am On Aug 18, 2006
Here are a few of the things learned at the Black Think Tank

Facts:

1. The first Americans or Native Americans going back 13,000 BC were black! Look up the Folsom people who lived in Arizona. [NOTE: c. 9000-8000 B.C. Folsom people flourish throughout Southwest at the end of the last Ice Age. In 1863, New Mexico was partitioned in half, creating the Territory of Arizona.]
[See, http://www.seattleweekly.com/features/9713/features-downey.shtml]

2. One of the best reasons to stop our use of the term African American and say Black. A white person who was born in Africa, who moves to America is an African American qualifies for financial aid, etc., but will get the jobs/pay privileges afforded to whites.

3. Look up the Slavery Law of 1665 (which stayed in effect until 1968) and the Maryland Doctrine of Exclusion (1638): both laws state that blacks must be excluded from the benefits afforded whites and that blacks must remain Noncompetitive with whites, except in sports and entertainment. [See, also, http://www.law.du.edu/russell/lh/alh/docs/virginiaslaverystatutes.html, and http://www.thenation.com/doc.mhtml?i=20011001&s=parenti]

4. Two white men: Bill Gates and Larry Elision, combined have more wealth than the combined wealth of all 36 million blacks in America. Civil Rights did not change the economic landscape or the balance of power in America.

5. Asians received 80% of all government minority set aside contracts. Hello!!

6. Blacks eat more fish than whites by a 4 to 1 margin. For every dollar whites spend on fish, blacks spend $9 on fish. Fish sold wholesale for $1 will retail at $2.50 – $3.00. Guess what business we should be in as Blacks?

7. There are no black owned national cables or major network television stations. The black woman who owns our only black owned radio stations, plans to sell to white owners after hearing the deal Bob Johnson received for selling B ET. (Cathy Hughes is from OMAHA, ya'll!)

8. There are no black owned companies on the Wall Street Stock Exchange where blacks own the majority or controlling interest of the stock.

9. Ninety-six % of all black inmates are men. [See Angela Davis at  http://www.fyicomminc.com/angela/angela5.htm]

10. Over the next two years 440,000 black inmates will be released from prison. The State has no place to put them as they re-enter society. A profitable business would be - Halfway houses!

11. In 1860, 98% of all Blacks in America worked for White people. In 2001, 98% of all Blacks in America still work for white people, [meaning only 2% of Blacks are entrepreneurs].

12. In 1860, blacks in America had a combined net worth of one half of 1% point. Guess what, in 2001, after Civil Rights, Jesse Jackson, Oprah, Shaq, NAACP, and Urban League, our combined net worth is half a percentage point.

13. For every dollar earned by a Jewish person, that dollar touches 12 -18 Jewish hands before it leaves their community. For every dollar earned by a black person it leaves the community soon as he or she earns it. [This may be an erroneous, since Buying Black is a reality for many Sistahs and Brothas.]

14. The last week of April 2003, in Washington, DC, black teenagers where arrested and booked for eating McDonald's on the metro subway. Cops cited the recent 5-4 court decision as the permission to arrest lawbreakers even for minor offenses.

15. Sixty-seven percent (67%) of all hate crimes in America are against blacks. After we get through being pleased that we have carpet in our office, a secretary, our name on the door and make six figures, we do not own anything. What will happen if you miss 6 months of work without pay? All we have left our children is debt, not an inheritance. You cannot pass welfare or food stamps onto our kids as a nest egg! We are not even in the race. By the way, the word "race" hit the English language in the 16th century when Europeans held a contest to see who will win the race to gather the most wealth through exploitation of blacks.

Politics › Have You Felt The Impact Of 6.5% Economic Growth In Nigeria? by adconline(op): 5:58pm On Aug 13, 2006
Just wondering what are your views on this 6.5% economic growth in Nigeria in 2005.
Yet  power supply is epileptic,
More violent crimes.
Massive retrenchment
Insecurity
High unemployment rate.
Low GDP.
Corruption
Low capacity utilization
Low industrial output

Tell me how this  "growth" in the economy has positively or negatively affected your life. Or is this normal Nigerian " paper growth" ? Let's hear about  new job, house, car,  job promotion, improved finances and lots more.
Romance › Re: Why Do Men Run Away From Educated Women? by adconline(m): 5:27pm On Aug 13, 2006
Most  men with equal education status are not intimidated. The complexity sets in when the woman is way more edaucated  than the man. Its not only peculiar to men, some women are also intimidated to go out with some men who are way more educated and loaded, unless they are gold diggers.

Christianity Etc › Re: Isn't Time For Islam To Be Reformed? by adconline(op): 3:50pm On Aug 11, 2006
Arabs have scores to settle with the West. What have northern Moslems got to settle with Southern Christians  in Nigeria? Is it oil as you said? After all northerners had been controlling  the oil sector before OBJ came in. You guys have not given me any answer. I think that some of you do not want anybody  to say anything against your religion. Can you enlighten us on your faith visa-viz the happenings around the world. Why is it that Southern  Moslems are not as violent as Northern Moslems, yet  they stand and watch  when their bothers and sisters get killed in the north?

A Christian pastor in Lagos was alleged to have set some of his followers on fire and Christians were the first people to condemn his devilish acts. Why cant   Moslems replicate this kind of act?

People always say oil without mentioning the fact that oil rich Arab nations are being paid royalties by these oil companies. They pay taxes and oil licensing fees, yet a family in these oil rich Arab nations controls these vast resources with iron fist. If I were a Moslem in those countries, I go battle my government ooh no be oyibo. How can Sultan of Brunei and Prince of Saudi be in the top ten world's richest people and yet some people in their countries live in captivity.
I want you guys to prove me wrong not by throwing insults on any person who wants to show their displeasure.

On the contrary, Arabs always look upon the West as a model to emulate, and to solve their problems. Believe me, if these Arabian countries would measure up to the West by 50% their subjects will stop dying as suicide bombers.

By further stifling people's opinion reinforces the thinking that your faith embodies some aspects of violence. pls.  Prove me wrong by facts not by doctrines or sentiments
