I just calculated my tax now and must say I'm impressed by what I saw....but there's a challenge. What do I get from the government in return for the tax I pay? I dug my own borehole and lay my own water pipes. I paid for my own healthcare and education. There's no more subsidy according to the government themselves. The electrification of my house now cost over 3x what it used to and with that, I needed to have backup from my own pocket. Security is almost nonexistent in my village. So what exactly am I paying tax for? Just a reminder..... There's no country that has ever taxed it way to prosperity. Taxation is not the ideal way to raise money for innovative governments. Only slave drivers think taxation as a vehicle for prosperity. |
h0pze3:Please stop disgracing yourself in the public. Go and learn or watch YouTube videos on the topic. Nairaland historian. |
Mrfixitt:No be for this world people like you go get sense. Even after all the news and evidence before your eyes, you still haven't realized what's happening? You still think that Israel is the god's chosen people (saints) that all their neighbours want them dead and gone......even in this age and time?...na wah o. |
A roadside farm is not a private venture... it's a community project....at least for a country like ours where pilfering and stealing is seen as smartness. Don't get me wrong. Those with farms in the inner part of the community also have to deal with human and animal pest, but the ones by the roadside have a bigger problem. I don't have a farm in Ibadan so I won't be able to speak to managing one's farm from another state. |
JovialJune:Obviously, you can read....but there's an issue with your comprehension. The post isn't about gold digging.... it's about escaping billings from in-laws. |
aribisala0:Are you in anyway insinuating that we've not been paying for electricity? The question from the publication is that can we say there's been a commensurate increase in power generation and distribution, in comparison to the increased tariff since the last one year. They talk about lack of investment in the power sector, but nobody is asking them where they plugged the excess revenue they've generated since the last year of this current tariff.... remember the amount of power we've generated has remained static since Jonathan's era....so again, where have they been channelling the excess from the increased revenue to? Nigeria's problem is not revenue generation. Those who lied to you that the government is poor or cannot cater to the needs of Nigerians because of our population are being economical with the truth. The country lacks proper accountability and they're too many gullible ones that are easily swayed or lied to. Kill corruption and watch the country progress. |
adeyemiolutoye:Thanks for the response. I'll send you an email now. Looking forward to discussing with you. |
Dogalmighty17:I was surprised seeing this news here as if it's the latest.... Trump has moved on to another show of madness. |
Ovacoma:Same way Iranian missiles are landing unhindered in Israel. |
Righteousness2:What's left to strike after they've already hit their targets? They're not in the business of destroying civilian facilities or killing women and children. Or do you want them to start striking hospitals and schools like your god's chosen people? |
Christlike01:If Nairaland had not been owned by a Nigerian, I'd have said this comment of yours is written by an Israeli sponsored internet stooge... I mean no offence...my apologies if you feel offended 🙏 Everything you said up there except for Hezbollah and Houthis are all made up lies from Netanyahu. Hamas was actually funded and sponsored by Israel...sounds strange isn't . The original plan for Hamas was to use them to cause division amongst the PLO. Fact check this please... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7grSsuFSS0&pp=ygUWTmV0YW55YWh1IGZ1bmRlZCBIYW1hcw%3D%3D Also, regarding the production of weapon of mass destruction, do you even know how Israel got their nuclear weapon and if they officially registered as a nuclear power state?... let's leave that for another day. Truth is, if your neighbour is Israel and you're witnessing what they've been doing to others within the region, and you sit with your hands fold, thinking they won't get to you as is the case with Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Oman... then your case is similar to Nigeria that is calling terrorists - bandits and calling freedom fighters - terrorists. |
Christlike01:The bolded above is the exact reason I support Iran having their own nuclear weapons because you can't have a bullying neighbour like Israel who goes around terrorising her neighbours with distructions and nuclear bombs, and ask the same neighbours to not arm up... This madness has got to stop 🛑 |
Christlike01:The type of freedom Libyans are enjoying now I guess ![]() When will you people learn that the West mean no good for any other race or people except for their kind? |
mastermaestro:The real reason why Iran has not developed its own nuclear weapon is because this same supreme leader y'all want dead gave a fatwah (Google this to learn more) for his country not to create one. His theory was simple. Nuclear weapon will cause a lot of collateral damage killing both their enemies and innocents, and their religion forbids that. Another thing you also need to know is that Iran is the cause of their own downfall. If they had built a nuclear weapon since the early 2000 when they first had their enriched uranium, no country would have challenged them in the manner Israel is going about bullying all its neighbours, because they too would have had their own deterrent. That's what nuclear weapon is used for. Indian and Pakistan are both nuclear power states, hence the mutual respect they have for eachother. They fight, but they dare not threaten to kill the leader of their respective country like Israel or the US can boast of. Finally, lemme leave you with this to ponder.... Why is the West not discussing North Korea? That is the only country in the world that directly insults and chant death to America in the open. They don't hide it.... But if we go by your theory of taking the fight to the nextdoor neighbour that chants death to Steve, the US ought to have taken the fight to them, but guess what, they won't dare. |
Hello Mr. Adeyemi, Hope you find the work hands you're looking for....I'd like to know how much one can get a good farmland at Agbowa. Depending on the price, I'll like to get a few acres. |
You for state Ur location naw so that those close by can patronise you. |
What title docs does the land have? |
Eriokanmi:Arabs are the easiest fall guys.... Very easy to call them barbaric islamist terrorists, but you forgot that that same country (Libya) used to be the best in Africa some few years ago until your so called God's chosen people instigate the US-Obama led administration and NATO to go and kill Gaddafi in the name of democracy and peace. The same type of peace they gave DR Congo after killing Patrice Lumunba, and Thomas Sankara in Burkina Faso. As you're reading this, they're currently plotting how to invade the latter again, but this time, for another nationalist by the name Ibrahim Traore. This same angels of the Western world and their NATO alliance killed over a million people in Iraq in their battle against weapons of masses destruction. It turned out that the whole weapon of masses destruction thing was a lie sold the US by the "god's chosen people"... Yet, not a single person was tried for war crimes. I know you already have your mind fixated on Arabs as the baddies and I can't change that...Peace and love 🕊️ |
iwaeda:I'm glad you wrote this....you took the words out of my mouth. Building a house in Lagos now is no joke...and not for the feign hearted. All agencies have doubled or their fees and we don't have to mention the massive malpractices or corruptions going on there. |
ResidentSnitch:The US celebrate what's known as Thanksgiving day. It's a day they celebrate their successful extermination of the people that are native to the land - the red Indians. |
How much can I use to clear a Toyota Corolla 2016 model entering via roro? Also what's the cost for clearing a 2016 Hyundai Sonata Note: all duties included. |
We're in 2025.... Are you still in this business and if yes, where's your office located? |
I expect the mods to bring this down considering recent events in the country. Let's all play a part in building a better Nigeria. |
I think one of the greatest huddle in palm farming is acquisition of land in a good location. They're so many people out there working round the clock to scam potential buyers. It's very difficult to trust people in this age and time. |
gabbyfarms:Does it mean it was not grafted? I expect grafted a plant to start fruiting earlier. |
As if it's that easy to find lions everywhere....not to mention seeing a stray cub. Mister, you bought the lion cub ni....don't take us for a fool. |
osuofia2:When you get to a certain age and maturity level, you'd know that there's an agenda to magnify any offence that's committed by a Muslim with a view to creating that long lasting impression that Islam is synonymous with terrorism. Ponder on this for a moment...if the crown prince of Saudi Arabia was the one that made the pronouncements that's made by the US senator that they're the ones funding Boko haram, ISIS and Al-Qaida....what would have been the headline of all the major News outlets and how long do you think such news would have been on air for? Compare the media coverage for that with the ones they give crimes committed by Muslims around the world... It's okay if you've not been noticing, but start paying attention to it from this day and you'll understand what the agenda is. |
Dashiid:Progress by way of debt and improvement.... 🤔 |
ChizzyBuna:Sorry if this sounds offensive, but please don't be offended. I just want to ask...how old are you? I asked that to help everyone reading this to know your level of comprehension and experience about life. I mean no harm or ridicule. The best way to solve the puzzle 🧩 of the delima you find yourself is to simulate the outcome of your actions and/or inactions after this discovery. Let's say you discussed this with your dad first and he made you understand that those things were used between him and your mom, and even went as far as calling your mom to bash her for not disposing them properly.... How would you feel....guess that'll ease your mind. Another scenario is that he used it on other women....the most likely probability from your own point view.... If you discuss it with him, he might feel bad for loosing his guards and letting you see his dirty side. In this instance, you can choose to educate him and even threaten to report it to your mom if he doesn't desist going forward.....with this approach, you've earned a respect that your other siblings won't have from him, and consequently keep the family intact. Another possibility is that you went on to tell your mom just like you're feeling now... I'll leave this scenario to you to tell us what might happen afterwards. Maturity comes with a lot of packages...and it includes information management. It's up to you to show how matured you are. |
excanny:I guess you think all a chicken 🐔 needs to grow from day old to between 8 to 12 weeks is just feed. How about other operation cost? Staff salaries, heating for brooding, medicine and so on....then the profit margin itself. The way to go is for people to start their own backyard farming. Raise your meat and egg chickens by yourselves. Plant Ugwu, pepper 🌶️ and tomatoes 🍅, and other needed veggies. If 30% of Nigerians practice farming at this scale, demand for those commodities will drop slightly and on the long run, it'll impact prices too. |
blingxx:With funds from which business venture? |
