The problem with your narrative is that it has been debunked over and over again by people who have devoted their life into researching the people that are presently occupying the land called Isreal.

You need cages only....the reason layers and broilers are wonderful is the management of space. However, I think all birds should be allowed to roam about. Lol. But since it's not possible here...no need.

The only issue is that you need to attend to them mornings and evenings. If you can do that. You are good to go. And dedicate a day to make general cleanliness...you may want to employ someone for that to do it in your presence. You need not work too hard. Just stay there and monitor the person. Buy give them food by yourself. Only you can feed even 100 birds daily in the mornings and evenings. Then, pack your eggs at night. Or find someone to do it for you in your presence. You may be tired, just be there.

I know a thing or two about raising birds myself because I've tried it on a medium scale and got the management right but failed at marketing them.

Regarding local hen.... The best they can do is give you an egg each daily, but they start laying at about 5 to 6 months old just like their Isa brown cousins.

Raising crossbreed of native hen and (young) broiler Cock or big noiler, or vice versa will yield the best result.

I've always been a homesteader but I'll like to take it a step higher and do it on a commercial scale. I want to get into poultry business... for eggs🥚.

I'm also interested in full time fruits and vegetable farming.

I was chilling at my tenants cement shop yesterday for some hours while he went to supply.
A customer came and said he wanted cement, ( in my heart I wanted to confirm truly how stupid Nigerians are), I boldly bluntly told him 12k per bag (against the current 10k it's currently sold at).
Lo and behold after murmuring some stupid word like ya'all do online. He requested for 10bags.

I went into my componud to drive out my car and supplied him myself. He was like "ah this fine car for cement, I replied my boys carry cememt motor go supply... You nor fit wait!

My tenant returned, I transfer him 100k and chuckin 20k.

However, when other competitors come into the market, maybe prices will begin to become competitive. I said maybe because they might opt to fix a market price at the time to ensure that their revenue does not shrink at at time. The more profit that the oil companies make, the higher their income tax to the government. So our government might prefer to watch their citizens pay high for fuel and make more money from taxes than the other way around.
