jargo89: What is this MB-ish exam, med students are always lamenting about.
What it's not: *Menacing Bomb, Mechanical Bombardment, Mindblowing Blast....LOL
What it is: Medical Board exam
You may ask: why would just an exam be this talked of? E wan hard pass jamb?
My brother, it really is. What you are required to know is close to impossible as it can be. And u are writing it for THREE courses and the awful 3 in 1 Anatomy is included. MB no be joke.
In my school, in each courses, 6 incourses are written. Incourses are lyk exams. The best 4 are chosen (I heard the 3rd and 6th are chosen compulsorily cos they are cummulative exams). The 4 scores which are over 100 are then added divided by 400 and multiplied by 30. This represents the MB's continous assessment. *imagine all hardwork, reading, exams and jubilations for results during the 18 month period of the preclinicals amount to only a possible 30 marks. And only the best get over 20, #insane*
This is what makes the MB a very important exam as it represents 70 marks in a go. It makes or break a med student. It determines his/her passage to the next stage. And what is the pass mark? 50....did I hear u say dats easy? its not even close to easy. The highest MB result in my school ever was 78. Respect to that dude. Amazing thing was he got distinction in all d 3 courses, something done only once b4 im.
#Moving on..... There are 4 MBs to be done in med school. B4 I list, it is advisable I give a rundown of all the courses to be done in med school. That would be in my next visit here. Gotta sleep...2 days to my incourse....See ya wishing u huge success,+ i'm anticipating ur new post and also i want to know how u study effective |

thatsincerechic: I was back on the road again, heading to nowhere. After Amaka asked me where I was going to stay, I told her there was no problem that I had somewhere to go to and I left promising to come back for my luggage. I kept walking for more than 30 minutes, I could not take a bike or shuttle, I didn't have a destination yet. I was in tears as I walk and kept wiping them off as they fell on my cheeks. 'I can not bear this burden... I am going home, I just have to.. I am so tired' I cried I decided I was going to call my mother, and my father. I would call her and tell her to put the call on speaker so my father would listen too while I spoke. I decided I was going to tell them everything. I was going to make my mother know how much I had suffered and finally I called and Immediately she answered the call I cried into the phone "mommy.. I am tired" "Rose.. What's making you tired" she asked As I was about to tell her everything, I heard "I said don't finish all the groundnut oil on that rice oo.. Take some out of it.. Is it rice you want to eat or groundnut oil you want to drink?" She was talking on the background and finally returned back to speaking with me " Rose, mama usher just came with some rice, tin totamtoes and groundnut oil, this is the first food we are about to eat for today... There is no single kobo in the house and junior has not stopped purging.. And i don't know what to do... Ehn em.. You said you are tired.. Why are you crying" she asked. "toothache " I Replied. "toothache? " she asked. " yes toothache.. It started again oo.. The pain is really terrible" I said and this time I had stopped crying. "okay sorry... I have told you to always boil lemon grass and use the water to rinse your mouth morning and night" she said "okay I will.. " but she was not listening to me " I said don't finish the oil and you are telling me it's too small.. What is wrong with you" she was talking in the background again and later came back on the phone " okay I will call you to know how you are feeling when I recharge my line" and she ended the call before I could say goodbye. This time I was more confused. No, I couldn't tell her about my situation, it wasn't going to solve anything I thought and of course I knew she was never going to call back day as she promised. I just stood at the spot, After I was done with my phone call, put my phone back in the purse in my right hand and stood at akimbo thinking of what to do next.... I'm still following |

thatsincerechic: TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Now I am tired... Just as many of you have taken your time to read this story so have i taken my time in writing it. I cannot please you... I am not writing this story to satisfy your sexual urge(this is to those that are only concerned about Bleep) I started out with a good intention of narrating my story to many out there who are going through what I went.. I wanted them to learn from this. Now to those who want a summary, this is a story, stories are usually long narratives. Pls have it in mind that as I post comments I also see comments on this thread.. Majority of which are of obscene thoughts and it's a big distraction to me... Now do this Imagine you were with friends, or should I say students whatever setting you wanted, and you were telling your story and some are throwing one or two sentence which is totally out of order, not what you have in mind because it is not what you experienced. Now how would you feel To those that say I was running out of lies because I haven't mentioned the part where I had sex, pls bridle your tongue because You can not tell my story for me. And to those who say they are bored with the story, just as you are bored, I am also bored because I was no longer seeing reasonable comments as I progressed and i am pretty sure that majority of those that tarried along up till this point are those that are eager to read and enjoy the sex scene. Well, I am sorry to disappoint you, I didn't start my story to ENTERTAIN but rather to ENLIGHTEN you on what is going on in our society. To those saying I was making the stories shorts so i could garner pages, well sorry to say this but I think you are myopic, if you religiously followed from the beginning you would see comments on when I said I was at work. And to the young man, that asked me why I Did not type everything out in a computer and uploaded all once instead, well you see sir, I started this story after a thought came to my mind, I was so motivated that I decided to register as a member on nairaland because I have always been a visitor on nairaland and this is my first topic on nairaland. I actually thought I could tell it peaceful as it progressed and not to be confused at the long run by many of you who wanted a different story.
Since you are not patient enough to know how I used what i had to get what I wanted.... You would probably never know.
My experiences are my precious moments because they shaped me into what I am today, and I won't have it altered because I want to tell a story on nairaland.
At this junction I drop my pen!
# walks out of thread******* pls kindly continue I'm pleading |

I was also in same shoes as the op I sleep in class since 14k accomodation is now a big issue. Garri automatically turns best food, meat was luxury then in my eyes. As early as 3am I would have to rush to hostel with my soap and sponge to take my bath, wash my cloth under shower or else I'm in for it that day. Today I give God the glory I'm not yet there but it keeps getting better. |
