"Complex inferiority"... i give up.
Moreover, i didnt rubbish you, i only put it to you on the negative of the bill passed which you should not support, and gave ample reason as to why.

Anyways adebowale, am sorry if our convo degenerated to this.. i hope am able to convince you otherwise. Have a great day.

You called it "corporate organization". Of course, all across the country, if you walk into any bank, the staff would generally first speak English to you, except they're familiar with you. It's their way of being accommodating to everyone. It's a different thing with everyday interactions on the streets of Ekiti.
banks I entered then speak Igbo whether you're familiar or not, at Onitsha first bank, one of the customer care rep had once address me speaking Igbo not until I told him I'm not igbo

people speak Yoruba on the streets of Ekiti, do they not speak igbo on the street of east states? no private sch allow their students to speak Yoruba like that

I can say this constructively that, Igbo elites kids speak Igbo well than the Yoruba elites kids

this is just an avenue to resurrect the value of our language, this has nothing to do with what your kinsmen are splitting up there

And that is what I said - that I support this measure very strongly at basic education level through primary and secondary school. That is the place for acquiring language skills. At tertiary level, except one is studying a language itself or except one day, we start teaching courses in our indigenous languages, it's a waste of a student's time making him take language courses.

You're comparing the East to Lagos, which isn't a fair comparison. I'm sure in Ekiti or Ondo, Yoruba is the dominant language as Igbo is in Ebonyi or Abia. Lagos is a cosmopolitan city which might be Yoruba dominated, but has a national character and flair. It's interesting that no other state, including the other 5 Yoruba states, ever felt the need to pass this measure, but the Lagos State House did. It seems it is motivated more out of hubris and arrogance and a need to feel relevant than trying to somehow promote the language. Be honest, can you imagine there being some kind of scheme in Abuja where admission or even employment into government institutions requires working knowledge of the Gwari language?
I spent good 6yrs in Ekiti and the samething was applicable in Ekiti corporate organization

wetin dey pain u now is what I don't understand. your case be like a player that referee give yellow card and he still going to explain to the ref

this law had been on debate for a while, now it had been passed. Lagos is a Yoruba land geographically or politically as you may put it, they're entitled to any decision they take. should we scrap our culture, custom and law because we have non Yoruba settlers here?

i think the bolded is opposite..compare east to west states like oyo and osun..lagos is the way it is because of the way it evolved.
Igbo speaking in east is Paramount somewhat that some teachers resort to diverting English language to Igbo for student assimilation (e.g mathematics) you can't see this in yorubaland. why are we ashamed of our language, when you must know how to speak French before entry France?

even in ekiti, osun and Oyo, it's very common to see people adopting English in almost all their communication while in office
Education › Re: Yoruba Mandatory For Admission In Lagos Tertiary Institutions by Adebowale89(m): 11:16am On Feb 12, 2018
Obi1kenobi:
You do that in basic education, from primary to secondary level at the formative years of citizens. Not in universities for adults. Our education system is unfocused and meandering enough as it is where a 3-year Engineering program in the UK and other European countries takes 5 solid years minimum in Nigeria due to a host of irrelevant 1st and 2nd year courses. Now such a student also has to concern himself doing language courses in GS. How is that relevant to his tertiary education?
this go beyond education my guy, we are too fast to compare our disorganised governmental system to a stable government of other countries

goto East, even in the bank the igbos ain't ashamed to speak Igbo language but Yoruba here, in a corporate organization, you will hardly know the employee are yorubas

how do we restore our language value if not through schools? the governor unanimously with the lawmakers had passed the law and there is ntn anyone can do to reverse that, so this debate has no meaning to me

I foreseen buhari loosing 2019 reelection, not just because PDP would nominate a marketable candidate but because buhari is too authoritative in his party handling

he found it hard to consult stakeholders and party leaders before appointing and deciding most of his things. I see APC collapsing before the election hence his downfall

PDP shouldn't make such mistake, atiku still has political weight to challenge buhari in 2019

but if he's ready to support any candidate comes 2019 then he will be used as tools to divide buharist in kano

If by that you refer to the Igbos living in SW while conveniently forgetting Yorubas in the SE, then you definitely deserve all the Fulanis dish out to you and more.
Did you give out your land and houses to the Igbos in SW for free?
Didn't they purchase them just like Yorubas living in the SE?
Your hatred for the Igbos which oozes out from every single comment you make is why we are here talking about how to free your people from their masters' chains.
can you just shut up, how many Yoruba dey east? na only Anambra have few Yoruba, none of east states has Yoruba

What is even your problem with the Igbos?
Eze ndigbo is just an appellation that shows someone is the leader of Ndigbo in a particular place. Even the Yorubas have their leaders in SE and you don't see Igbos carrying placards and whining over that.
Have you ever heard of any Igbo anywhere outside of SE killing the indigenes and dragging their land?
This is the major problem with you guys: you'd prefer to bury your heads in the sand while attacking innocent Igbos going about their businesses, meanwhile, some others are ravaging your land, abolishing your traditions and kings right under your nose.
Continue.
Yoruba are now wise now. innocent Igbo indeed with all your hatred for yorubas despite they accommodate your kinsmen u still hate them

you people hypocrisy disgust me, why will I settle in a region I hate so much. you hardly forgive, I really don't know what makes you different from the Fulanis

if you don't even like that region, respect them for over tolerating and heart of forgiveness. as bad as Igbo tagged Muslim, I still feel safe with Yoruba Muslim than the unforgivable igbos
