sonne20:With what is going on wait 6mths, and make sure if u want to go as a couple u fill in your DS 160, very important. I think the blue paper is the norm now..with time it will ease out.. Am also waiting out the six mth to go with my son, he was denied on Monday.. Best of luck to other applicants. |
mumzt:No it was my valid visa I used, I just sent them the mail stating that I want to use the visa for child birth...I already did a drop box and got a visa in May without interview.... I feel the lady just wanted to refuse him..which is fine, will reapply 6mths time.. I will advice u take all necessary and documents that looks unnecessary too a long with you... Carry UR zero Balance/itemized zero balance with u. If ur going to a state in US for the 1st time goggle places to visit.. I have been to MD,TX,NY, ATL, but not IL and I was asked places I want to visit. I told her my sister is there schooling n we intend to have Thanksgiving with her..she kept asking places in Chicago I want to visit..me just won go rest and shop.. The VO kinda made the interview look like I was trying to renew my visa...after the denial, I had to ask her hope she did not cancel my valid visa....she said no... Best of luck dear..wish u well. |
OmoBendel24:5yrs old..meanwhile I just thought it was my son's interview alone..well its one of those things..its this Black American lady, and I can bet she didn't give anyone cos she was super mean. Also even if I showed her the receipt she may not still give cos I saw all body languages.. Sure I would have stated me sending later but my boy was just everywhere...learnt and know what to do in the next interview.. Thank you |
My not carrying along my daughter's zero balance bill came to hunt me today.. So I have a valid visa which I did via drop box and I was given, I took my son to the Embassy today for his interview and he was denied...thanks to zero balance receipt not taken to the interview.. I personally think US brought in mean VO during this time..cos in all the three interviews I have done in US Embassy, today's VO was the worst of them all.. Next year when I reapply, I will carry even my US Student ID join documents self... This year na African Country sure pass... |
What a morning.. I went for interview today with my son, and he was denied visa.. I guess today was not there day and he will get on his next interview. I was asked few questions: Personally I feel the VO was mean n somehow, I have done interviews for vacation and school and I was given, given birth to a baby in US paid all my bills yet my son was not given.. The VO said she did not give my son cos I didn't come along with my daughter's birth receipts.. If she was nice she wld have just said I should send copies...please NOTE, I have a valid US Visa.. Will travel to an African country n reapply in 6mths... Pls carry the necessary and unnecessary documents you never know.. PS, let us explore other African Countries and leave US alone for now.. Best of Luck others.. |
Nostradamus:And their card will continue to b debited... REDBOX is a life saver, I don't know if its still $1 per movie for 24hrs.. |

anfanio:Thank you for your response, I did Dropbox.. Do I still need documents.. |
Pls I need help.. I have a US visa and my son's appointment for visa is next week, pls do I need to get a letter from my job for him? And what other documents do I need to take along.. |
Hello mamas n papas, Good to see this trend is moving well... Congrats to all the success stories and the not so successful ones, God will give u your success story on your next interview.. For the itemised bill, I think its only For West Houston Medical Center (I may b wrong) but I renewed my visa via drop box and I was given even two of my other friends that used HNWMC. Also can we research more on hospitals and doctors so that certain doctors will not be overwhelmed.. The doctors most of us used are from researches..let us explore all that is available on-line.. Well done..God bless. |

This is an interesting thread, and I must say it good for everyone to know and weigh options,. I travel mostly to the US, did my Masters in Maryland a private school cos I don't want to do any examination which worked out for me. I went to Babcock University for my 1st degree so it was easy to go to another Seventh day Adventist University in US for easy transfer of credit and start off of Masters.. I did my Masters in 2010-2011, I had mad fun, although my classes were in the evening so I worked on-campus during the day, and also worked outside campus too(baby sitting), I was a home stay sitter. So I used all my resources to work n put a roof over my head.. You see US is flexible provided you know you way around, pls note do legal things. So if you get an admission into a big school there is the likelihood that you will get on- campus job,no matter the rate per hour take it so that you know your sorted to an extent.. I was doing two jobs Everyday n go to school evening of Tuesdays and Thursdays so I was able to balance my self, there was a point that I was doing three jobs..although my tuition was paid from Nigeria but I had to sort my up keep myself.. On campus jobs will help with Social security number n filling of tax return, also state ID. And later jobs After you are done with school you get OPT for authorized work out side campus. After my Master I came back home and I have gone to the US many more times without stress.. There are endless possibilities in the US, provided you follow the laws n rules there... |
MamaOO:Thank you for your reply.. |
MamaOO:I want to ask a question: 1. Can a US born child whose parent have worked in the US for 1yr 6mth n filed tax return access Medicare?, |
[quote author=Jenny8935 post=69609660]Black officer : how come you have the doctors and hospitals in Nigeria, yet all of you want to come here to have your babies? Before we could even answer, he cuts us in..... Black officer : let me tell you what I think. I think you all just want the citizenship by birth for the baby (still smiling) DH and I : Definitely!!! That's the number one reason. It gives the baby prospects of a better life in future and better academic and career opportunities in life. (smiling back) Black officer : (now laughing and nodding in agreement) The baby may also fetch you guys a green card and citizenship later in the future. DH and I : Exactly, thats right. Black officer : (still smiling from ear to ear) you know what I truly appreciate your truthfulness... Welcome to America and have a safe delivery. DH and I : Thanks a lot This to me is the reason why so many more pregnant women will b allowed into the US, provided the laws r not changed.....the truth and honesty PAYS. Congrats.. |
superdoll:The post visit you had could be the bill they called for, because u have few days to stay in US, pls make sure u call them back and let they know you need the bill urgently so that you can make payment, before you pay make sure you know what you are paying for.. I had a similar case in 2015, but in my case the service was free cos I was bleeding from the incision, I was not reopened but one stitch was opened and I kept dressing it for a month myself, my mum helped me most of the time.. When the bleeding started I noticed it was dark red so I know it was not life threatening, when I got to the Doc office, my 1st question was will I pay for this service, off course they knew what the implications were so I was told it was free till it heals but I only went that once n continued to dress it at home...the blood was accumulated blood behind my skin layer.... |
Kween2014:Are they still open?. |
kagari:Thank you for your response, please what price on an average will the cost be from Lagos to Chicago/Texas ,around 20th Nov to 15th Dec. 1 adult two kids under 6yrs. Thank you. |
Well done @kagari, I see the good work your doing.. With your experience, after summer do you think tickets will deduce in cost/price to the US say like October/November time? Thank you |
Meanwhile, I also want updates on tickets for November biko if anyone hears of any deal like the Turkish Airline a few days ago, pls tag me... Thank you. |
drered:I hope your not... US embassy VOs can b funny, most of them are psychologist or have a way of guessing facts from whatever people say to them.. While on visa approvals sometimes its divine grace, some times pure preparation and most especially confidence.. I know quite a number of people with their 1st, 2nd or 3rd US visa who are forever stock in the US cos they had the intention of staying back after 6mth, which automatically means IF they ever leave the US shores, they can never go back until probably 10-30yrs, it now depends on different factors.... You see, if you decide to not come back to Nigeria after getting your visa its up to you, but trust me whoever u have ties with when you filled your application will be affected, in this Trump era.. My advice is that whoever wants to go to US and wants to remain their illegally, kindly know that its not as easy as you think, think about it well and be very sure about all your odds.. |
.
I truly appreciate your truthfulness... Welcome to America and have a safe delivery.
