After all the stress and hopes, they will employ not more than 5 persons. A recruitment process that makes u loose out of the job market after waiting for so long and putting ur tym in it. I wonder why they publicize graduate trainee since they know they arn't gonna take a pool or a class full of people? why not do it indoor since small or less than 10 persons will be absorbed. They go ahead shortlisting over 500-2000 candidates and take 6 persons. Hmmm
Nigerians like you will complain about everything, if they do indoor as u said, you'll say the companies are unfair and corrupt. Graduate/management trainees are the best way to get into an organisation because you will be the future of their organisation and would rise very fast with a career already planned for you so they like taking people on merit who are very hardworking and not by connection or indoor recruitment. I understand how you feel because I used to apply for graduate trainee jobs in the past and would actually start to think they're scams because I was failing. It took me about 6 major job applications before I got the one I'm in now, I used to fail at different levels of assessment but with every failure,It was a learning point for my next application. Besides it's not always that people fail, it's just that as you get closer to the end, some people seem to create a better impression to get the job to the interviewers. I wish you best of luck in the recruitment.

Lolz Mr catchdwind has explained it all, it's up to you to believe him or not, things in you change when you finally get a good job, your technical knowledge, work experience, living standard, career aspirations and confidence that you can achieve anything increases which makes those people make such decisions as he said...it's just not possible for some people to understand at the moment. This issue is common with the engineers applying for this job. For the recruitment, NB has been using the same process for many years, workforce will do the initial screening and test of about 2-3thousand people in unilag then only about 50-70 people are invited for the assessment centre day which is a full day of different activities and is done in about 5 groups for about 5 days and in the end about 10 -15 are employed. All of this may be done this month or next. So keep on praying your invitation to assessment center mail lands because a lot of people will do well in the test, it's just the amount of people needed that's the issue.

SenatorJChris:
The point you made might be plausible. However we can't completely accept that as a sole reason cos I know someone that was hired last year without MSc but have an impressive work experience.
People hired last year were for brewing and packaging and all had masters, the logistics people that joined last year were from consolidated breweries 2013/2014 management trainee set which didn't require a masters degree, if you remember, NB took over CB early last year

catchdwind4rmkd:

I'm afraid not, the masters criteria was only a recent move by NB to reduce staff turnover rate rather than cost. I fear other top employers might follow suit. I learned from their last recruitment via "Careers in Africa" in London that they've experienced high staff turnover, with most of the reasons given being that employees were leaving to further their studies. Thus, NB believes that recruiting masters level graduates will help reduce the rate at which employees resign. Most importantly, most of the graduate roles in NB are for prospective NB managers. So, it becomes a painful waste of investment and time if these graduates resign before or after completing their training. I gathered that the masters degree is not really considered in arriving at your renumeration or offer. I may not have said it all, but I'm sure the reasoning behind the MSc criteria is somewhere around what has been summarised above.

You're very correct, the masters criteria started in 2014 after the last logistics recruitment, it was due to people always resigning after a year or two to further their studies because they can now afford it. That's the only reason for the criteria, not to reduce number of applicants or anything.

They usually take about 10 management trainees for a function such as brewing, packaging, logistics. Highest they take 15, for brewing and packaging, sometimes they take about 2 or 3 people from UK to join. During the training period, you get free accommodation, feeding and laundry. Brewing and packaging program lasts for over a year but logistics is 6 months then you're posted to any location across the country to work..so if you're interested in the job you should have it in your mind that you can be sent anywhere like kaduna or aba even if you're married or a lady

being: Adexen is just d recruiting agent. Dey 'll follow whatever format unilever wants. So i think going by previous recruitments, d next stage is phone interview
ok thanks...who else is in supply chain, congrats for scaling to the next stage...i guess it's time to start forming stories for your competencies down..lol

From previous ones, it is Online test - Phone Interview - Assessment centres - Offer letters.. But now that Adexen has taken over, expect stage 1 - stage 2 - stage 3 - stage 4 ... + stage n. (0 < n < 8 )
grin
i did mine directly from unilever so that means phone interview is next stage to prepare for...or is it adexen stage that's next, remember with BAT, after test, the next stage was the group activities...maybe that's what we should prepare for

ikenna58: Its so unfortunate that some bigots (not an insult, check the dicko) wouldn't read between lines before responding. I remember I ended my first statement with "kindly ask them if that is what they pay other applicants outside Nigeria"!! I believe that statement really explains the kind of message am passing across. Do you guys know that BAT pays their MT in UK about 35000 pounds per annum. That's roughly 9.1million Naira. Now do you see them paying thesame for MT in Nigeria? If Stanbic should pay 140k that I can imagine how much they pay our counterparts outside Nigeria!

And whether I am the most qualified candidate in Nigeria, I will say No. But since I know they pay 140k, then I will most likely not take the application serious because I am worth more than that and I know how much my current job pays me in a month!

Sometimes, being very young, we need to venture into other business environment and take up new challenges
i don't think BAT pays their MT £35k per annum, It's usually between £20-26k per annum for graduate trainee jobs in UK and after that, they get to remove 20-30% as tax...N140k per month in 9ja is not peanut for graduate trainee in nigeria. u also have to consider they may be making less money in nigeria compared to UK because of some issues like regular electricity, lower standard of nigerian education etc..
