The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has demanded the sum of N1,850,000.00 (One million, eight hundred and fifty thousand naira) from EDUBOX to release list of best student in the May/June 2015 session. EDUBOX, a Lagos-based organisation had on December 8, 2015, in a letter signed by its chief executive officer, Sanusi Tosin, requested the list of best student in each states of the country from the West African Examination Council. The Nigerian eclipsed Troy Deeney’s record to become the first Hornets player to score in five successive English topflight games Odion Ighalo has set history as the first Watford player to score in five consecutive in the English Premier League. The Super Eagles forward was on target against Chelsea in Saturday’s English topflight encounter. Ighalo was not closed down as he dribbled into the box and his left-footed strike deflected off Cahill, wrong-footing Courtois and sneaking inside the near post. “We fought to the end. We knew we would get something from the game if we kept on like that,” he said after the game. His brace against Liverpool last week saw him equal Deeney’s record few days after becoming the Hornets’ highest goalscorer ever in the English Premier League. The 26-year-old now boasts of 13 goals in 18 appearances for his side this season has weighed in with two assists. The Nigerian has a record of 115.5 minutes per goal in the English top-flight this term. Watford are seventh on the log with 29 points from 18 games and will host Tottenham Hotspur on Monday. http://m.goal.com/s/en-ng/news/4110/nigerians-abroad/2015/12/26/18726502/brilliant-ighalo-breaks-watford-record lalasticlala |
The Nigerian was on parade on Saturday, and became the club’s third-highest overseas appearance maker John Mikel Obi became the 21st player to make 350 appearances for Chelsea in the Blues’ 2-2 draw against Watford in Saturday’s English Premier League fixture. The Nigerian was a 46th minute substitute for Cesc Fabregas as Guus Hiddink’s team failed to subdue the Hornets at the Stamford Bridge. Also, the feat makes him become the club’s third-highest overseas appearance maker since his move from Lyn Oslo in 2006. “Personally it is going to be great for me if I can achieve that number,’ Mikel told Chelsea website before the game against Quique Sanchez Flores’ team. “I also want to push on and see how many more appearances I can get. For me it has been a great time here, I still enjoy it and ever since I walked into this football club I knew this was the place for me. “I am so happy and so proud of the amount of games I have played for this club and at the same time using these games to win trophies and medals. This is the most important thing. “For the past 10 years we have helped build the reputation of this club and Chelsea is up there in world football. I am so proud of what I have achieved and I still want to keep going.” 16 of Mikel’s 349 matches came during Hiddink’s first spell in charge of the Roman Army. http://m.goal.com/s/en-ng/news/4110/nigerians-abroad/2015/12/26/18724442/mikel-sets-appearance-record-with-chelsea lalasticlala |

The Cameroonian was recently chosen to stand in for Sepp Blatter when the Swiss was suspended pending an investigation. Hayatou was filmed by eagle-eyed journalists falling asleep in the middle of an press conference on Thursday. To be fair to the guy, he’s 69-years-old and recovering from kidney transplant surgery,so if anyone deserves a rest! http://lebuzz.eurosport.co.uk/viral/video-fifa-acting-president-issa-hayatou-falls-asleep-in-the-middle-of-a-press-conference-8125/ lalasticlala

Late on Wednesday, the British House of Commons voted 397 to 223 to approve Prime Minister David Cameron's plan to carry out airstrikes against ISIS targets inside Syria (previously, British bombs had only targeted ISIS in Iraq). Royal Air Force (RAF) strikes could begin within days or even hours. The vote came after a long day of contentious debate and dramatic speeches, perhaps most notably a rousing and fervent plea from Labour Party Shadow Foreign Secretary Hilary Benn. In a speech that moved some parliamentarians to tears, Benn called on Britain to help defeat these ISIS "fascists" who "hold our belief in tolerance and decency in contempt." The context here is key: The British vote was a direct response to French President François Hollande's call for a global coalition to fight ISIS following the November attacks in Paris. The fact that Britain was responding to an attack that targeted one of its closest allies helps explain some of the passion behind Benn's speech, which some of his colleagues called "moving," "immensely powerful," and "one of the great speeches to be given in this House of Commons." http://www.vox.com/2015/12/2/9838490/britain-vote-syria |

Wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari,
yesterday, said that despite her present status,
she still cooks her husband’s food. She gave the revelation at a party she organised for children drawn from different parts of the country in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to mark the Eid-el-Fitri celebration at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Her remark followed an excuse to depart from the party amid dances by the children. “I’m going to leave you soon. I want to go back home to cook for my husband because my children are here playing with you. Nobody is at home, only my husband. So, I want to go back home to be with him and also cook dinner for him”, she said. She further stated that the Sallah party was an indication of the seriousness her husband’s administration attached to the welfare of the youth. She said, “On occasions like this, we celebrate with children, especially the less privileged, including those in the various internally displaced persons’ (IDPs) camp. We love, appreciate and share with their present situation. “The reason for this is to promote warm interaction and sharing what we have with one another. On this note particularly, we decided to celebrate with all children from different background”. She charged the children to obey their parents and teachers’ instructions both at home and schools. “The future of this great country lies in your hands. You are to compliment the efforts of government by working very hard in school and be obedient to your parents. Tomorrow you may become president, the president’s wife, Senator, honourable members, governors, medical doctors, teacher, journalist, engineer, nurse, lawyer and the rest of other honourable professions”, she added. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/07/i-still-cook-for-my-husband-aisha-buhari/ lalasticlala ishilove |
